2021 Top Prospects

Tait Joynt  SS - 2021 - Austin, TX

Joynt took what might have been the best batting practice round of the event as he used a long and loose yet quick swing to barrel the baseball all over the field including multiple shots out to about the 375 mark in center field. He has the overall tools with athleticism, soft hands and 86 mph arm strength to stick at the shortstop position long term as well.

Tom Barnhart  SS - 2021 - Fulshear, TX

Barnhart is a solid overall player and he showed it in a number of facets this weekend. He ran a 6.75 sixty, was clocked up to 90 mph from the outfield, showed a repertoire of a fastball up to 87 mph and a solid curveball on the mound, and has a quick/strong left-handed swing that generates carry to pull.

Ethan Medlin  OF - 2021 - Lake Charles, LA
East Mississippi CC

Medlin is a highly projectable outfielder who has good athleticism (6.77 run time), arm strength up to 84 mph from the outfield and a swing that shows electric bat speed generating hard line drive contact to the pull side at a consistent rate.

Lucas Wear  C - 2021 - Portland, OR

Wear is a defense-first catcher who has the tools to make an impact behind the dish at the next level. He is a sound receiver, works light on his feet with athleticism out of the crouch and has arm strength to patrol the base paths with the best. He adjusts the bat head to get on plane well at the dish and generates some jump when squared.

Alejandro Marquez  RHP - 2021 - Richmond, TX

Marquez is a projectable primary pitcher who showed good stuff on the mound with a fastball in the low to mid-80s, a sharp slider in the low-70s and the athleticism/arm speed to proiect to a continued rise in stuff. He also showed his athleticism in the outfield and in how he swings the bat with looseness and the ability to create some jump off the barrel.

Preston Snead  1B - 2021 - Frisco, TX

Snead is a physical right-handed hitting first baseman at 6-3/220-pounds who put his strength on display both in batting practice and game action where he hit two homeruns on day one. He shows maturity to his approach and is able to leverage well to create lift with the strength behind it.

2022 Top Prospects

Dante Cano  LHP - 2022 - Abilene, TX

Cano, a 6-4/210-pound left-hander, made a jump into the national spotlight with his performance as he worked consistently in the upper-80s, topping out at 91, with great downhill action and arm side life to the fastball while flashing a breaking ball with good spin/shape and a projectable changeup.

Henry Mitchell  SS - 2022 - Albuquerque, NM

Mitchell, a primary shortstop with strong actions on the dirt and a quick/simple swing, brought his best stuff to the mound where he worked in the 87-89 mph range with great athleticism/arm speed and a pair of secondaries in a sharp breaking ball and workable changeup.

Brock Bearden  OF - 2022 - Texarkana, TX

Bearden has the tools that project to being a solid player at the next level, evidenced this weekend by his 6.56 run time, athleticism/low-80s arm strength from the outfield and a quick right-handed swing with enough looseness in the wrists to adjust the bat head and get on plane to find the barrel at a consistent rate.

Trent Rucker  OF - 2022 - Fairview, TX

Rucker is a very projectable 6-3/165-pound outfielder who showed good tools to build on with a 6.81 sixty, 83 mph arm strength that plays well in the outfield and a quick swing that creates good jump off the barrel when he gets it out front and squares it like he did in game.

Carlos Beltran  C - 2022 - Conroe, TX

Beltran is an athletic and projectable catcher who ran a solid 7.28 sixty, showed good feel for catch-and-throw behind the dish and has some strength in the swing as he whips the barrel and generates good impact to pull when everything syncs up.

Jack Brooker  RHP - 2022 - Boulder, CO

Brooker is a physical right-hander who had success with his two-pitch mix that includes a fastball up to 84 from an over the top slot and a true 12/6 curveball that plays as an out pitch now. He also showed intrigue at the dish with a strong swing that produced well-struck line drives to the middle of the field.

Will Schnepf  RHP - 2022 - Dallas, TX

Schnepf is a very long and projectable right-handed pitcher at 6-5/215-pounds who worked in the 82-84 range with a sinking fastball, showing great arm speed through a low-3/4 slot and the ability to throw both a sharp curveball and a fading changeup out of the same release.

Elijah Rodriguez  C - 2022 - Baytown, TX

Rodriguez shined during the defensive portion of the event showing great catch and throw skills that resulted in a 1.95 pop time while showing a short yet strong swing at the dish with lift at the contact point as he worked to the middle of the field consistently.

Maddox Miesse  C - 2022 - San Antonio, TX

Miesse is another catcher who impressed with carry to his throws and ease in which he releases it behind the dish while also showing a strong and loose swing that created good contact on a line to the back side of the field during batting practice.

2023 Top Prospects

Logan Myers  SS - 2023 - Arlington, TX

Myers showed solid tools across the board over the course of the event with a 6.92 sixty time, 85 mph arm strength that plays especially well with his actions on the left side of the infield and a sound swing with a combo of looseness and strength that produced a homerun and a couple shots off the wall in batting practice.

Gene Trujillo  1B - 2023 - Albuquerque, NM

Trujillo is a long and physical 6-5/215-pound left-handed hitting first baseman who showed tremendous potential offensively with a strong and leveraged swing that was able to produce loud contact to the pull side during batting practice and game action.

Luke Paxton  OF - 2023 - Texarkana, AR
Arkansas-Little Rock

Paxton had one of the better run times with a 6.67 sixty yard dash and has some pieces to work with offensively as he generates good bat speed and shows jump off the barrel that projects well as he finds a bit more consistency.

Ryan Slade  RHP - 2023 - Wimberley, TX

Slade is a 6-5/240-pound right-handed pitcher who showed pieces to project on in his time on the mound working 82-84 mph with heavy arm side run and feel for a firm slider that projects well through maturity.

Zackary Wallace  C - 2023 - McDonough, GA

Wallace is a primary catcher with good length to project on at 6-2/185, projectable catch and throw skills and a strong swing with natural lift that produces long lofted contact off the barrel.

2024 Top Prospects

Andrew Fonte  C - 2024 - League City, TX

Fonte is an athletic young prospect who showed good things for the age with a 7.19 sixty time, solid catch and throw skills with some present arm strength and flashes of pop at the dish that can be projected on through maturity.

Thomas Mulkern  SS - 2024 - Frisco, TX

Mulkern is another young prospect who is undersized at present but has the actions to stick on the dirt at the shortstop position with soft hands and quickness laterally. He also showed pieces to work with at the dish in a quick and simple swing that was consistent in finding the barrel throughout his round of batting practice.
