Luke Paxton is a 2023 OF/RHP/MIF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Texarkana, AR who attends Arkansas. Young athletic build with plenty of physical projection remaining. Very good runner, 6.67 in the sixty. Played both the outfield and infield defensively, shows his quick feet and athleticism well at both positions, takes good routes with quick jumps in the outfield and works low through the ball well, footwork is a bit younger in the infield, still developing his arm stroke and arm strength at both positions but has plenty of time to improve in those areas. Left handed hitter, hits from an open start and closes well into his swing, swings hard and has good present bat speed with some strength in his hands, middle of the field stroke at present but promises some power when he physically matures and learns to turn the barrel, projects well as a hitter. Good student. Verbal commitment to Arkansas Little Rock. Named to the Lone Star Showcase Top Prospect List.
