Maroon vs. Royal Game Highlights

2/10/2024

Royal

Josh Ouimette (2028, Wauconda, IL) was dominant in his lone inning of work ramping it up to 81 from a loose lefty slot with a quick arm. Pounded the zone East to West while tunneling his curve well off his fastball. Fastball showed promising arm side run to it as well. Curveball looks like a legitimate out pitch and was tunneled extremely well landing it for strikes at will with good depth and late biting 10-4 shape. Highly projectable. Also smoked a loud double the other way in live game action.

Jett Chapa (2028, Bloomfield Township, MI) sat back on a ball and drilled it to left in live game action. Showed a smooth lefty swing with a lot of good working parts.

Mason Piazza (2028 3B, Saline, MI) absolutely turned on a ball to left for a base hit. Ball came off loud and hard. Physical in the box with a nice-looking swing. Power projects well here.

Watson Ferreri (2028 C, Okemos, MI) unloaded on a ball up and in for a loud double in live game action. Has a quick bat and stays compact through the zone. Came up again and cranked a loud liner to dead center for another loud hit.

Benjamin Sobeck (2028 C, Holly, MI) pieced a ball up the other way for a double. Showed good ability to really stay on the ball and go with it with authority.

Carter Shouse (2028 OF, Middletown, OH) really impressed off the bump in his lone inning of work and was dominant showing a quality 3-pitch mix. Fastball ramped up to 88 from the left side with heavy arm side run. Went to a disgusting upper-70s change that he could land at times and kill spin to an extent with fade. Also flashed a curve with late biting 10-4/11-5 shape. Highly projectable with a lot to like here.

Maroon

Maksim Neshov (2028 OF, Canton, MI) cranked a ball to dead center for a loud double on a line. Ball came off loud. Smooth lefty swing with plenty of feel to launch. Ball really jumps off his bat and carries hard. Power projects well. Came up in his second ab and proceeded to clobber a ball that would have probably gone yard. Impressive young lefty bat with a ton to like.

Sutton Mullins (2028 1B, Delaware, OH) showed some promising stuff during his 1-inning outing throwing from a low ¾ slot with a ton of whip in the arm. His fastball got up to 81 and showed great running life with high spin. Went to a slider with good sweeping action to it as well.

Owen Hammond (2028 3B, Saint Louis, MI) cranked a ball to the pull-side gap for a double in live game action. Has a smooth lefty swing with good feel for the barrel. Stays level through the zone and controls the barrel well. Hammond also pitched and got up to 80 off the bump. Big physical righty shows promising stuff on both sides of the ball.
