Black Vs Col Blue Game Highlights

Will Christophersen (2018 RHP, Bettendorf, IA) Christophersen was dominate on the mound featuring a fastball that have heavy run with sink in the mid to upper 80's, topped at 88 miles per hour. The 2018 grad also showed very tight spin with late movement on a slider and curveball. Worked three no hit innings while striking out two. 

Collin Rogiers (2018 RHP, Buffalo, IA) Consistently worked to each edge of the plate with fastball topping at 84 miles per hour. Good feel for an 11/5 curveball that had late depth. Rogiers worked three perfect innings while striking out three batters. 

Evan Jordan (2018 OF, Champaign, IL) Showed good barrel control with strength at contact. Doubled to the opposite field, sitting back on an 84 mph fastball that was located outer half. 

Mason Nadolney (2018 SS, Minnetonka, MN) Showed a live arm while on the mound creating heavy run with a fastball that topped at 86 miles per hour. Consistently attacked hitters and induced weak contact in his one inning of work. 

Shane Mitchell (2018 OF, Centennial, CO) The Colorado native utilized a naturally leveraged swing plane that produced a hard double to deep left center field in his last at bat of the bad. Also showed good knowledge on the bases taking extra bases to score the sole run of the game.

Tyler Lewis (2018 RHP, West Des Moines, IA) pitched at 85-89 MPH with a strong durable body.  He has a quick arm with a heavy fastball.  Lewis has a lot of upside with a few adjustments.

Ryan Doran (2018 1B, Harlan, IA) pitched at 78-82 MPH with his fastball with good run on it.  

Ryan Manternach (2018 IF, Monticello, IA) swung the bat well collecting 2 hits in the game.  He showed some bat speed and barrel skills.

Hogan McIntosh (2018 C, Mitchellville, IA) swung the bat well collecting a hit with quick hands at the plate.

Col. Blue vs Cardinal Game Highlights

Ryan Manternach (2018 IF, Monticello, IA) The primary infielder showed good bat head control with a knack for finding the barrel. Singled twice in two at-bats and showed smooth, athletic actions defensively. 

Tyler Lewis (2018 RHP, West Des Moines, IA) Showed good arm speed producing a heavy fastball that topped at 89 miles per hour. Showed developing feel for each edge of the plate but over matched hitters when filling the strike zone. Lewis also flashed developing feel for a 10/5 breaking ball. 

Ryan Doran (2018 1B, Harlan, IA) Doran showed good running actions with a fastball topping at 82 miles per hour. Started from a closed set and created a lot of deception at release do to a cross fire arm action. Doran along with Logan Mueller (2018 SS, Columbus, NE),  Ben Dekruyf (2018 IF, Urbandale, IA) and Mark Reimel (2018 OF, Woodbury, MN) combined to throw a no hitter.

Clayton Nettleton (2018 RHP, Davenport, IA) pitched at 86-89 MPH with his fastball and located it down in the zone.  He threw his curveball for strikes at 76 MPH and had some sink on his fastball.  He also struck out 5 in 3 innings of work.

Nic McCay (2018 RHP, Carlisle, IA) pitched at 85-88 MPH with his fastball and was dominant.  He threw a hammer curveball at 71 MPH for strikes and was aggressive in the strike zone.  He threw 3 pitches for strikes and has shown steady improvement over the past couple years.

Brayden Frazier (2018 SS, Cedar Rapids, IA) swung the bat well hitting a hard single to right field.  He has good bat speed and barrel skills.

8/12/2017

Mason Nadolney (2018 SS, Minnetonka, MN) Hard contact on a long double over the LF head. Rotational lower half and generated good lift through contact.

Andy Kornacki (2018 RHP, Sussex, WI) Pull side approach, reaching base twice with two singles into LF. Good presence on the bases turning a single into a triple with a couple stolen bases, scoring later in the inning.

Tony Barreca (2018 C, Long Grove, IA) A smooth swing that is easily repeated with a good gap to gap swing. Two hits in the game including a long double to left center field.

Will Christophersen (2018 RHP, Bettendorf, IA) Good ability to stay inside the ball with an opposite field approach. Line drive bat plane on a hard hit double down the RF line.

Parker Hermansen (2018 RHP, Coon Rapids, MN) Surrendered just one hit in his four innings of work. Showed good extension over his front side. FB sat in the mid 70's with good arm side run, and CB with depth. Commanded both pitches well.

Hogan McIntosh (2018 C, Mitchellville, IA) Pitched a hitless inning striking out two. Easy, balanced delivery. FB jumped out of hand at an easy 84 with CB at 66 and CH at 73. CB had late movement and fooled hitters.


Columbia Blue Vs. Cardinal Game Highlights

Ethan Cernohous (2018 2B, Bulverde, TX) Hit the ball hard in his three at-bats reaching each time with two singles. Consistently barreled up the ball with some loud contact.

Evan Crawford (2018 OF, Bettendorf, IA) Used a good pull side approach, collecting two hits in the game. Both hard hit balls between the SS and 3B.

Conner Richardson (2018 RHP, Grand Forks, ND) Competed well in his three innings. A big body that helped bring his fastball in the low 80's. Fastball showed some occasional run at 83 and breaking ball 11-5 shape with sharp bend.

Trey Jacobson (2018 SS, Estherville, IA) An easy inning on the mound, facing the minimum. Had a quick arm action showing a good, deceptive fastball with run at 81, and a breaking ball with solid depth.

Davie Pound (2018 OF, Rolla, MO) Pitched a 1, 2, 3, inning with a good cutting fastball at 82. Curveball had some two-plane movement in the upper 60's. Simple and smooth delivery.

Evan Jordan (2018 OF, Champaign, IL) Solid outing striking out three in his inning of work. Uses his legs to generate good fastball velocity at 85. Fast arm that didn't alter with his offspeed pitches, making him hard to pick up.

Brayden Frazier (2018 SS, Cedar Rapids, IA) Frazier showed his usual plus bat speed with good strength at contact. The 2018 grad consistently produced hard line drive contact between the gaps with solid carry. 

Tyson Williams (2018 1B, Lisbon, IA) The Lisbon native utilized a direct path to contact with a slightly lifted swing plane. Consistently turned the barrel to contact producing hard contact to pull side. 

Davie Pound (2018 OF, Rolla, MO) Pound worked throughout the baseball on an uphill plane generating good carry to the gaps. The Missouri native flashed raw power when on time and squared. 

Simen Restad (2018 RHP, Prior Lake, MN) Consistently turned top hand to contact and produced loud, hard contact to the middle of the field with authority. 

Evan Crawford (2018 OF, Bettendorf, IA) Crawford moved into contact well with lower half while utilizing a simple, direct path to contact. The 2018 grad attacked the baseball aggressively working to the middle of the field throughout batting practice. 

Nicholas Fazzari (2018 OF, Thunder Bay, ON) The Thunder Bay native swung with the intent to drive the baseball with authority. When on time, Fazzari produced very sharp contact off the barrel to the middle of the field and pull side gap. 

Ben Dekruyf (2018 IF, Urbandale, IA) The Urbandale native looked to stay on back side throughout swing and create lift at contact. Consistently repeated swing path while driving he baseball to pull side with authority. 

Hogan McIntosh (2018 C, Mitchellville, IA) Stayed on back side at contact creating a naturally leveraged swing plane through extension. Ball jumped off his barrel with tight back spin that produced good carry to each gap. 

Andrew Fox (2018 1B, Lenexa, KS) The Kansas native utilized a simple, direct path to contact with present bat speed and strength at contact. Primarily worked between the gaps, but flashed the hand speed to turn barrel and drive pitches located inner half. 

Mason Nadolney (2018 SS, Minnetonka, MN) The Minnesota native looked to lift and separate while launching to contact on a naturally leveraged path. Nadolney swung with intent generating good strength at contact.

Ethan Cernohous (2018 2B, Bulverde, TX) Looked to turn the barrel to contact and generated hard contact to pull side singling twice to the left side  in two at-bats. 

Simen Restad (2018 RHP, Prior Lake, MN) The Minnesota native generated solid downhill angle through the zone from a high three-quarters to near over top arm slot, topped at 87 miles per hour. Restad also flashed solid feel for a breaking ball and fading changeup. 

Jarrett Blunt (2018 RHP, Ottumwa, IA) Blunt freatured a heavy fastball that produced run to arm side in the mid 80's, topped at 88 miles per hour. The Ottumwa native attacked hitters early in counts with fastball before changing speed with a curveball and slider. 

Brayden Frazier (2018 SS, Cedar Rapids, IA) Frazier showed good feel and control of the barrel driving a fastball located inner half to right center field for a sharp single. 

Trent Hoogerwerf (2018 C, Iowa City, IA) Hoogerwerf impressed while behind the plate showing strong hands and good lateral range while blocking. The 2018 catcher also produced at the plate singling sharply to center field in his second at-bat.
