Hogan McIntosh is a 2018 C/RHP with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Mitchellville, IA who attends Bondurant-Farrar. Large frame with long limbs and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Ran a 7.21 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a slightly taller, side set stance while receiving. Gains ground while working out of crouched with clean, sound footwork. Quick, fluid exchanges while working through transition. Released from a three-quarters slot producing accurate carry to the bag at 76 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.03. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Stays on back side and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose, extended hand path to baseball with an uphill barrel plane through extension. Showed some fluidity to finish while utilizing a gap to gap approach. Created hard, loud contact when working to the middle of the field and opposite field gap. Also pitched working from a set position. Small side step to medium leg lift. Stays balanced at gather and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Clean arm circle and released from a high three-quarters slot. Fastball produced steep downhill tilt through the zone with some run to arm side in the low 80's, topped at 84 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with tight spin and late, hard bite. Also flashed a changeup with quality sink in the low 70's. Consistently attacked the strike zone and effectively mixed speeds while on the mound. Good student.
