2019 Top Prospects

William Marconi  C - 2019 - ,   Uncommitted

The top catching prospect from the Fall Southeast Showcase was local product William Marconi out of Walton High School. The uncommitted backstop showcased good catch and throw ability with arm strength down to the second base bag. He also put the arm strength on display on the mound where he topped out at 87 mph.

Tucker Jones  OF - 2019 - ,   Uncommitted

Jones has a strong arm from the outfield that he put on display Saturday during drills. He throws with a quick and low release after moving to the baseball with athletic actions. His compact swing has quickness to the baseball that produces plenty of line rive contact to the middle of the field.

Henry Koehler  OF - 2019 - ,   Uncommitted

Koehler has plenty of room to add strength to his 5-11/155 frame but he has quick hands and develops good left handed bat speed at the plate with some jump off the barrel. He also threw 86 mph from the outfield with good athleticism and ran a 7.18 sixty.

Rylan Laird  3B - 2019 - ,   Uncommitted

Laird had the strongest arm in the infield during drills at the event topping out at 84 mph. His actions play well at his primary third base position as well. He moves to the baseball with short steps and has the ability to throw from multiple arm angles while still being accurate to the bag.

2020 Top Prospects

Jaden Woods  LHP - 2020 - ,   Georgia State

The best 60 yard dash time (6.64 seconds), outfield velocity (92) and lefthanded fastball (86) of the showcase all belonged to Georgia State commit Jaden Woods. The lefthander may be listed as a primary pitcher but shows plenty of two way potential with elite foot speed and arm strength. His crossfire delivery makes the baseball tough for hitters to pick up the baseball and his command of his pitches is certainly advanced.

Halton Hardy  RHP - 2020 - ,   Uncommitted

Hardy is another third baseman who stood out over the weekend. He fields the baseball from a higher gathering position but he makes the plays while gaining ground to his target. Hardy topped out at 82 mph across the diamond with plenty of carry to the bag. He also stood out on the mound and may be a better pitching prospect than position prospect.

Kevin Ortiz  SS - 2020 - ,   Uncommitted

Ortiz has a well rounded set of skills. He has 7.01 speed and moves well in the infield with a nice ability to throw from multiple angles and some projectable arm strength. He's a switch-hitter at the plate who is especially good from the right side.

2021 Top Prospects

Cristian Mejia  SS - 2021 - ,

Young shortstop Cristian Mejia traveled along with his twin Luis to Georgia from Miami and showcased an advanced skillset in the middle infield as well as at the plate. The 2021 graduate rounds the baseball well releasing with a loose arm that projects for more strength with maturity.

Luis Mejia  OF - 2021 - ,

Twin brother of Christian, Luis, has an advanced skillset at his primary outfield position. Luis Mejia threw a best velocity of 86 mph from the outfield and projects for more as he continues to fill out physically. At the plate his swing projects as well with already good bat speed and carry to the middle of the field when squared up.

2022 Top Prospects

Caleb Hall  SS - 2022 - ,

Hall is a primary shortstop but graded out much better on the mound at this showcase. He was up to 84 mph with his fastball and got tight spin on a 71 mph curveball that had nice 11/5 shape. At 5-11/130, Hall has lots of growing still to do.

Gavan Wernsing  LHP - 2022 - ,

Wernsing has a strong body for a freshman and a good left arm. He threw lots of strikes with a consistent upper 70's fastball that is sure to improve with age while also showing a slider in the low 70's.
