2019 Top Prospects

Spencer Keefe  SS - 2019 - Canton, GA   Georgia

Keefe, who's list at a strong and believable 6-3/200, turned in one of the top 60-yard times despite his size at 6.59 which certainly speaks to the athleticism of the Georgia commit. He found the barrel frequently in live action and generates solid bat speed with consistent lift to his path.

Austin Bradbury  OF - 2019 - Missouri City, TX   Miami

Bradbury showcased multiple tools throughout the Main Event throwing 90 from the outfield, running a 6.69-second 60 yard dash, displaying a 96 mph exit velocity, and topping out at 89 on the mound. The Liberty commit is a physical prospect at 6-foot-2 200-pounds and has aspects of his games that make him a interesting two-way prospect.

Maxwell Romero Jr  C - 2019 - Miramar, FL   Vanderbilt

The recent Vanderbilt commit had a very impressive showing over the course of the weekend. The 6-0/180-pound backstop has a very advanced skill set behind the dish with very fluid actions, extremely quick feet, and good peripherals with a 79 mph arm and a sub-2.00 second pop time. There is a lot of power and strength to Romero Jr.'s offensive profile with present bat speed and pop to the pull side.

Preston Welchel  OF - 2019 - Cartersville, GA   South Alabama

A recent South Alabama commit, Welchel put his two-way abilities on display during the showcase and though he was up to 88 mph from the left side, his lefthanded swing was his loudest tool. With very quick hands Welchel was able to impact the baseball consistently, including a long home run in live action to his pull side.

Mykanthony Valdez  3B - 2019 - Davie, FL   Miami

Valdez was his usual loud offensive presence, routinely driving the ball over the outfielder's heads in games and taking a loud batting practice. He's extremely physical and strong, but plays a solid third base as well, where his 88 mph is a loud tool at present as well.

Jonnathdael A Gonzalez Maldonado  OF - 2019 - Guaynabo, PR   Florida International

Maldonado showed off two extremely impressive tools, first by showing his plus wheels with a 6.65 seconds 60 yard dash, and then showing off his big time arm in the outfield by getting up to 90 mph. He's very athletic and that athleticism translates to excellent outfield skills overall.

Brandon Smith  RHP - 2019 - Woodstock, GA   Georgia

Smith was one of the better all-around talents of this event, as he did everything well. He's a switch-hitter with plenty of bat speed and strength from both sides, and plays an athletic infield with a loud 88 mph arm. He was excellent on the mound, working up to 89 mph with excellent life and control, while mixing in a hard, biting slider.

Erik Rivera  OF - 2019 - Caguas, PR   Florida International

Rivera had one of the strongest showings from the event out of anyone. The Puerto Rican native was up to 91 mph both in the outfield, where he showed off very fluid actions and good carry, and on the mound where he would mix in a tight hammer curveball too. The offensive approach for Rivera is a very power-oriented swing with lots of lift and strength off the barrel.

Leon Paulino  OF - 2019 - Hollywood, FL   Florida International

Paulino is another outfielder who showed off excellent arm strength over the course of the event by registering in at 89 mph. The 6-3/200-pound frame is well-proportioned with strength throughout and is a good athlete too. The Florida International commit is a switch hitter who was very impressive from the left side with loose hands and consistently good bat speed.

Edwin J Sanchez  RHP - 2019 - Gurabo, PR   Uncommitted

Another standout performance by a Puerto Rican native came off the right arm of Sanchez. The up-tempo and fluid delivery was very effective as he is an aggressive pitcher who comes right at hitters. The fastball was up to 87 mph with a smooth and easy arm stroke. Sanchez pounded the strike zone and consistently blew the fastball by hitters and the curveball showed intriguing potential.

Jose Fulgencio  SS - 2019 - Orlando, FL   Hillsborough CC

Fulgencio has a very complete package as far as tools go. He is a sub-7.00 second runner, 6.87 second 60-yard dash, and has very athletic actions and good arm strength, recorded up to 87 mph from the infield. With quick and twitchy hands he gets to the ball very quickly with the bat and gets the barrel head through the zone quickly.

Alexander Aguila  SS - 2019 - Hialeah, FL   VCU

Aguila stood out all around in this event, running a 6.74 second 60 yard dash and then showing quality defensive skills both in the OF and IF. He's got a strong arm too, throwing 87 mph from the OF and 83 mph across the IF. He also got on the mound, showing a balanced delivery and a fastball to 85 mph.

Jake Arthur  RHP - 2019 - Houston, TX   Cisco Junior College

Arthur, a Texas native, has a highly projectable 6-3/185-pound frame with a clean and compact arm action. The fastball was up to 86 mph with good plane and some late arm side life. Arthur pounded the lower third of the strike zone and showed a tight breaking slider with very good command that allowed the uncommitted prospect to rack up swings and misses.

Alan Caretta  OF - 2019 - Montverde, FL   Uncommitted

Caretta showed off good strength both in the outfield, with throws recorded up to 86 mph, and offensively. At 6-3/212-pounds, Caretta is very physical and has good balance while in the batter's box to go along with present bat speed and loft; he is an asset both offensively and defensively.

Matthew Corlew  OF - 2019 - Lake Worth, FL   Uncommitted

Corlew showed his all-around tools in a big way, running a 6.73 60 yard dash and showing loose, easy defensive actions at shortstop with a solid arm and lots of athleticism. He's got an easy, whippy swing when hitting that drives the ball on a line, and he projects extremely well for power.

Garrett Danford  2B - 2019 - Grand Ridge, FL   Northwest Florida State College

Danford looks like he'll be a very good defensive infielder based on his easy athletic actions and good balance with quality footwork to both sides and an accurate arm. He also showed good strength when hitting, with big pullside power when he squares it up.

Kaden Dydalewicz  3B - 2019 - Georgetown, TX   TCU

Dydalewicz showed off big time arm strength, both defensively (87 mph across the infield), and on the mound, where his fastball also reached 87 mph. He attacks hitters in the strike zone aggressively and shows good life on his fastball as well as quality feel for his curveball.

Vaughn Grissom  SS - 2019 - Orlando, FL   Florida International

Grissom showed intriguing hitting tools, consistently getting the barrel out with strength at contact and very projectable power. He also got on the mound and showed some things to like, with a smooth easy arm stroke and a fastball that peaked at 83 mph.

Kameron Guidry  SS - 2019 - Stone Mountain, GA   Georgia

The South Carolina commit had an all-around solid weekend, showing some of the better defensive actions of the event, maintaining his balance throughout the round and making accurate throws. He's also got a loose, easy swing that consistently finds the barrel and projects for power.

Nicholas Hardy  OF - 2019 - Pembroke Pines, FL   Florida International

Hardy is a good athlete with a lean, projectable frame, and really impressed. He has good catching tools behind the plate and shows barrel skills as well, but really stood out on the mound, working up to 87 mph with a good, sharp breaking ball.

Harrison Leonard  SS - 2019 - Avon, CT   Uncommitted

Leonard really swung the bat well in games, driving the ball consistently with lots of present bat speed and projectable power. He also showed off big time arm strength, working up to 88 mph on the mound with a good slider and showing an 86 mph arm across the infield.

Matthew Lugo  SS - 2019 - Manati, PR   Miami

With lots of twitch and tools, Lugo was very impressive in all facets of the game. Also a 6.72 runner, the arm strength was excellent and recorded up to 90 mph across the infield with clean exchanges and very good footwork. The arm strength played well on the mound where he was up to 89 mph. The swing itself is fluid with loose hands and he turns the barrel with authority and exemplary bat speed.

Daniel Maldonado  OF - 2019 - Camuy, PR   Florida Southwestern State College

With tons of twitch and physical projection to the 6-4/185-pound frame, Maldonado has one of the highest ceilings of the event. Maldonado recorded a 6.50 second 60-yard dash to go along with an 85 mph arm from the outfield. There is good bat speed to the swing along with a line drive swing plane and feel for getting on top of the ball.

Sebastian Nunez  C - 2019 - Manati, PR   Chicago State

Nunez was very good defensively behind the plate, showing a quick transfer with quick feet, throwing 80 mph and popping as low as 1.95 seconds. He's also advanced athletically for a catcher, clocking a 6.86 second 60 yard dash time.

Graham Osman  LHP - 2019 - Morrison, CO   Arizona State

Osman certainly looks the part with a lean and projectable 6-2/166 frame which will only continue to strengthen over time. He did a nice job of maintaining his fastball velocity, topping out at 84 mph with a loose arm as part of a three-pitch mix which included a tight curveball at 74 mph with bite.

Makenzie Pate  OF - 2019 - Lilburn, GA   Coastal Carolina

Pate ran a 6.89 second 60 yard dash and shows that quality athleticism in the outfield, where he moves to the ball well and gets off a very quick release, which makes his 89 mph OF arm even more dangerous. He shows a line drive swing plane when hitting, getting the head out on time and working to all fields with efficiency.

Andrew Pogue  RHP - 2019 - Peoria, IL   Illinois

The uncommitted righthander who made the trek from Illinois had a very strong outing during the course of the event. The 6-4/175-pound arm projects very well with a long and loose arm action. The delivery is very balanced with present arm speed that only adds to the projection. Very good command of the curveball with 11/5 tight shape and also has a very heavy splitter.

Jairon Rivera  RHP - 2019 - Carolina, PR   Uncommitted

Rivera is physically strong already and uses that strength on the mound, where he worked up to 88 mph with a quick arm, showing a simple delivery that will be easy to streamline. He did a good job maintaining his velocity and mixing in three pitches.

Edgar Rodriguez  LHP - 2019 - Miami, FL   Florida Southwestern State College

Rodriguez immediately stands out for his physicality on the mound, with good size and strength. He worked up to 85 mph from the left side with a quick arm, creating some angle and short life to the plate with the pitch. He mixed in a solid curveball with good depth as well.

Dilan D Rosario  SS - 2019 - Morovis, PR   Southern California

Rosario set the bar for speed in this event, turning in a blistering 6.40 seconds 60 yard dash time and leading the event in that area by a full tenth of a second. He puts that speed on display in the outfield and showed a solid arm as well, reaching 83 mph on his throws.

Derick Stager  C - 2019 - Odessa, FL   Chipola College

With very impressive defensive skills behind the plate and lots of raw bat speed at the plate, Stager shows an intriguing combination for a catcher. The athleticism and flexibility is very good and he gets rid of the ball quickly with a good release. Stager is committed to UCF.

Justin Tejeda  OF - 2019 - Kissimmee, FL   Hillsborough CC

With a 6.8 second 60-yard dash and an 89 mph arm from the outfield, Tejeda already shows some loud tools for the uncommitted outfielder. The throws stay very low to the ground and his speed allows him to cover a lot of ground. Offensively, he stays on plane very well with present bat speed and power in the swing.

Matthew Treadway  RHP - 2019 - Cincinnati, OH   Lincoln Memorial

The highly projectable Treadway was very good on the mound in this event, showing a quick, clean arm and repeatable delivery that produced a fastball in the 81-85 mph range that he commanded very well. He mixed in a sharp, deep curveball and a tight slider as well, commanding all 3 pitches effectively.

Joseph Velazquez  OF - 2019 - Loiza, PR   Uncommitted

Velazquez put his many tools on display, showing off above average speed in the 60 yard dash with plenty of range in CF to go along with a hose of a throwing arm, clocked up to 90 mph. He also has interesting hitting tools to round out his profile.

Jackson Webb  C - 2019 - Elizabethtown, KY   Eastern Kentucky

Webb had an all-around good performance in this event, popping 1.87 seconds in drills and throwing 80 mph down to 2nd base. He blocked very well in games showing his agility, and continued to make hard pull side contact both in BP and in game at-bats.

2020 Top Prospects

Dylan Crews  OF - 2020 - Longwood, FL   Louisiana State

Crews, already committed to Louisiana State and a top ranked player in '20 class, impressed throughout the weekend with his array of skills, particularly from the right side of the plate. He took a professional round of batting practice and employs an all fields approach with solid bat speed. Also ran a 6.95 60-yard dash.

John Anderson  2B - 2020 - Grayson, GA   Georgia Tech

Anderson is already committed to in-state Georgia Tech and his performance this weekend showed why the Jackets added the young talent. Physically built, Anderson incorporated that strength into his righthanded swing, impacting the ball to the gaps while showing athletic actions and a strong arm across the diamond.

Steven Ondina  SS - 2020 - Gurabo, PR   Florida International

Ondina stood out once against for his defensive abilities up the middle, putting his soft hands and fluid actions on display, as well as his big arm which plays well (89 mph across the diamond). He'll continue to add strength to his young frame and generates sound line drive contact offensively.

Joseph Eichelberger  RHP - 2020 - McDonough, GA   Uncommitted

Eichelberger brought with a quick right arm with him to the mound and was able to run his fastball up to 89 mph and projects for more as he continues to develop physically. His changeup was the go-to off speed up to 75 mph while flashing life to the bottom of the strike zone. He's currently uncommitted.

Davis Meche  SS - 2020 - Lake Charles , LA   Mississippi State

Meche, an uncommitted switch-hitting middle infielder out of Louisiana, showed well on both sides of the ball with solid barrel skills and a strong arm from both the infield and outfield. He's quick on his feet defensively with sound glove skills and works through ball nicely while delivering accurate throws.

Brad Grenkoski  OF - 2020 - Kennesaw, GA   Georgia Tech

Grenkowski looks to be another talent from Farragut (TN) High School and he put all his tools on display over the weekend. A 7.04 runner, Grenkowski threw an impressive 89 mph from the outfield with good carry and showed a consistent righthanded swing which yielded hard, line drive contact.

Ari Arteaga  OF - 2020 - Miami, FL   Uncommitted

Full of quick-twitch muscle, the uncommitted Arteaga ran a 6.74 60-yard dash and used that speed in center field where he's able to cover ample ground rather easily. He also found the barrel throughout the weekend with quickness to his hands and a short, linear path through the zone.

Sam Canales  C - 2020 - Corpus Christi, TX   Uncommitted

Canales made the trip from Texas to Florida and put together a solid showcase, finding his name among the top ranks in catcher drills. Both his pop time (1.93) and throwing velocity (76 mph) were some of the best and his defensive actions were just as impressive as were his present barrel skills offensively.

Ben Abernathy  SS - 2020 - Warrior, AL   West Virginia

Abernathy is a young prospect out of Alabama who shows interesting two-way potential with his present abilities on the diamond. A 6.78 60-yard dash highlights his speed but Abernathy was also up to 86 mph on the mound and did a nice job of repeating his loose and easy righthanded stroke with solid contact off the barrel.

Pierce Chambers  C - 2020 - Treasure Island, FL   TCU

A 2020 graduate with advanced blocking skills behind the plate. Uncommitted, Chambers popped an impressive 1.95-second pop time in workouts. He also showed good bat speed and the ability to square up the baseball in game.

Jake Deleo  OF - 2020 - Norwalk, CT   Uncommitted

Deleo started off by showing a very loud arm in the outfield, reaching 91 mph on his throws with good physicality to his profile as well. He ran a 6.70 seconds 60 yard dash and shows that speed in games, where he's also capable of creating backspin and driving the ball when hitting.

Spencer Borgel  LHP - 2020 - Powder Springs, GA   Uncommitted

Borgel put his arm strength on display this event, topping out at 88 mph from the outfield before moving to the mound, which is his primary position. A projectable lefthander, Borgel showed a compact arm stroke and ran his fastball up to 84 mph with life and flashed quality fading life to his 78 mph changeup when on top of the pitch.

Tiger Borom  OF - 2020 - Jonesboro, GA   Lipscomb

Borom had a very strong showing over the weekend highlighted by his good speed and instincts defensively. The lefthanded stick gets out of the box quickly for some solid run times, recorded a 6.95 60-yard dash, and glides defensively in the outfield.

Dominic Pitelli  SS - 2020 - Miami, FL   Uncommitted

Uncommitted, Pitelli certainly showed skills that are worth following as he's very smooth up the middle with his glove skills and offers big arm strength, both across the diamond and on the bump where he topped out at 85 mph. He also shows a loose, lefthanded swing with lift to his path and projects well physically.

2021 Top Prospects

Juhlien Gonzalez  3B - 2021 - Southwest Ranches, FL   Florida International

Already committed to Florida International, Gonzalez did a little bit of everything at the Main Event which included bumping 85 mph on the mound. He's a primary shortstop and showed his slick skills in the field while also displaying nice power potential in his righthanded stroke.

Kristian Campbell  SS - 2021 - Marietta, GA   Georgia Tech

A young Georgia Tech commit, Kristian Campbell put together a solid performance on both sides of the ball down in Florida. He projects very well with added strength moving forward and already possesses present barrel skills as well as smooth, fluid defensive actions up the middle.

Christian Olazabal  RHP - 2021 - Hialeah, FL   Uncommitted

Christian Olazabal is a 6-0/185 righthander out of Miami who ran his fastball up to 84 mph early in his outing with a loose arm action and an up-tempo delivery. He did a nice job of filling up the strike zone and flashed a curveball that offered late bite from a similar release point.

Nyle Banks  SS - 2021 - Lenexa, KS   Uncommitted

Coming from Kansas, Nyle Banks put together a nice showcase on both sides of ball, both offensively and defensively, as well as on the bump. He's a switch-hitter with present barrel skills from both sides as well as a smooth defender up the middle and he also topped out at 84 mph on the mound.

Burke Berry  LHP - 2021 - Peachtree City, GA   Uncommitted

Not only is Berry a young lefthander, he's also plenty projectable in terms of physicality but still put together a solid showing in Fort Myers. Up to 80 mph with his fastball, Berry showed a loose arm stroke with steady sinking life down in the zone while consistently landing his curveball for strikes.

Bryce Hawkins  RHP - 2021 - Cumming, GA   Uncommitted

A lean and projectable righthander, Hawkins showed his athleticism on the mound as well as his arm strength, varying his slots from high three-quarters to sidearm while bumping upwards of 84 mph. He located to both sides of the plate and showed a nice feel for his breaking ball to generate swings-and-misses.

2022 Top Prospects

Jesus Pena  SS - 2022 - Miami, FL   

Pena is a very strong 6-0/180 especially when you consider he's just in eighth grade. His skills also stood out on both sides of the ball with a smooth transfer in the infield and sound carry across the diamond on his throws, as well as present bat speed with loud contact off the barrel when squared.
