2017 Top Prospects

Christopher Holcomb  LHP - 2017 - Osterville, MA
Tulane

Holcomb continues to make strides on the mound every time we see him and in his most recent outing he continuously missed bats with his fastball, bumping 89 mph with his fastball and did so with regularity. His arm action is very quick and he’s able to generate solid angle at release to the bottom of the zone with short running life while throwing a nice changeup for strikes.

2018 Top Prospects

Triston Casas  3B - 2018 - Pembroke Pines, FL
Miami

You aren't going to find a more physically impressive freshman than Triston Casas, who was an early Miami commit and continues to get even better. The bat speed and strength is unprecedented from the left side with very loud contact and big carry. For good measure he was also up to 91 mph with a loose arm action.

Kumar Rocker  RHP - 2018 - Watkinsville, GA
Vanderbilt

Rocker has been the #1 ranked prospect in the 2018 class since last summer and he proved why he's so highly regarded during his two innings of work. His 6-foot-5 frame has continued to strengthen physically while retaining the looseness and ease to his arm action as he was up to 93 mph and spun a hard and tight slider at 78 mph.

Jarred Kelenic  OF - 2018 - Waukesha, WI
Louisville

Kelenic has all the making of a big time prospect and it's of little surprise that he's ranked so highly and already committed to the University of Louisville. His strongly built 6-foot-1 frame stands out, as do each of the five tools as he ran a 6.72, threw 93 mph from the outfield, and showed big time bat speed and strength from the left side of the plate with big jump coming off.

Joe Gray Jr  OF - 2018 - Hattiesburg, MS
Mississippi

Joe Gray Jr. lived up to all the buzz that surrounded his name heading into the event and he's certainly a player that has big time potential. An extremely loose and projectable, yet already possessing top of the line athleticism, outfielder, Gray shows the highest level of offensive tools with extra quick hands and big power off the barrel. He also threw 94 mph from the outfield.

Elijah Cabell  OF - 2018 - Winter Park, FL
Florida State

Cabell burst onto the prospect scene last summer thanks to his standout bat speed, a tool that will rival any in the class, and plays well in game producing big strength from the right side. In fact, on his very first swing of batting practice the LSU commit went deep to dead center field. He also ran a 6.62-60 yard and threw 92 mph from the outfield.

Brandon Howlett  3B - 2018 - Lakeland, FL
Florida State

Brandon Howlett took perhaps the loudest batting practice of the entire event as he peppered line drives off the wall on a regular basis, showing loose and fast wrists and whip to the barrel. The hit tool played well in games as well and he showed the instincts and athleticism to play third base at the next level. He's committed to Florida State.

Will Banfield  C - 2018 - Lawrenceville, GA
Vanderbilt

Banfield is an ultra-loose and flexible actions behind the plate and he has the athleticism to stay at the position for a long time. When you considered the above average arm strength and pop time for a 2018 (80 mph, 1.78 pop) you're looking at a potential big time prospect. There's also plenty of quickness and strength to his swing with high end offensive tools as well.

Alek Thomas  OF - 2018 - Chicago, IL
TCU

Thomas is yet another high end prospect in attendance whose tools are plenty loud and rank amongst the best in the class. Full of fast-twitch muscle throughout his 5-foot-11 frame that helped with his 6.64 60, the uncommitted Thomas showed that same looseness in his lefthanded stroke with easy strength coming off the barrel and consistent hard jump to all fields.

Nander De Sedas  SS - 2018 - Montverde, FL
Florida State

De Sedas shows all the makings of a top of the class type talent. After running a 6.82 60 the young shortstop excelled defensively showing tools that typically aren't found in a 16 year old with exceptionally light and quick footwork and a strong arm across. He's also a legit switch-hitter with quick hands and easy bat speed, a couple of traits that helped produce big jump off the barrel.

Noah Naylor  C - 2018 - Mississauga, ON CAN
Texas A&M

The younger brother of former Perfect Game All-American Josh Naylor, Noah is equally as much of a prospect and appears to be the best Canada has to offer at this point. He's a lefthanded hitter and like his brother is able to generate big whip and bat speed through the zone, though he's also a catcher who you can project to stay back there as he topped 80 mph and popped a 1.87.

Slade Cecconi  RHP - 2018 - Oviedo, FL
Miami

Cecconi has a very live and loose 6-foot-3 frame so it's one that's easy to project though you don't have to look too hard to imagine what it can become. Already up to 90 mph, Cecconi's arm action is incredibly loose and clean helping to produce consistent plane to his fastball and hard tilting life to his slider up to 78 mph. He's committed to Miami.

Levi Kelly  RHP - 2018 - Cape Coral, FL
Louisiana State

You're not going to miss Kelly when he's on the mound as the physical righthander checks in at 6-foot-4, 215-pounds. He's an obvious athlete and posed a 6.97 60-yard though his future is clearly on the bump where he ran his fastball up to 92 mph with consistent running life and a downer curveball with late bite in the upper-70s of which he shows a keen feel.

Mason Denaburg  RHP - 2018 - Merritt Island, FL
Florida

Denaburg is a big time athlete who could very easily be a two-way prospect at the next level, both behind on the plate and on the mound. It's on the mound however where his future may end up being the brightest as he shows a live right arm from which the ball comes out very cleanly with late running life up to 92 mph. He also showed the makings of a power slider up to 75 mph with late break.

Carter Lohman  LHP - 2018 - Fishers, IN
Louisville

Lohman showed off pitchability beyond his years as he's able to not only throw, but locate three distinct pitches throughout the zone with intent. He's committed to the University of Louisville and was able to run his fastball up to 90 mph while projecting for more and showed both a sharp curveball and the ability to pull the string on a changeup at will.

Austin Elliott  OF - 2018 - Milton, DE
North Carolina

The North Carolina coaches, amongst others, really liked what they saw out of Elliott as they were able to commit him just two days after the event. He's a high level two-way talent who performed exceptionally well on both sides, particularly on the mound as he pounded the lower third of the strike zone with 88 mph fastball and a hard 12-6 curveball up to 76 mph.

Connor Noland  RHP - 2018 - Greenwood, AR
Arkansas

Not only is Noland attracting the attention of baseball recruiting coordinator’s but he’s doing so on the gridiron as well as he’s a heralded quarterback prospect and could very well do both at the next level. During his time on the mound Noland pumped in fastballs up to 88 mph to the lower quadrants of the strike zone with late running life and flashed a sharp curveball at 75 mph with late bite.

Connor Scott  OF - 2018 - Tampa, FL
Florida

Scott is one of several young Florida Gator commits for Coach Kevin O’Sullivan and Scott has the potential to be an impact type guy. Listed at a long 6-foot-4, 180-pound the lefthanded Scott moves well on his feet and shows big arm strength in the outfield, up to 91 mph. The approach at the plate is very similar to Kyle Tucker as he shows a long and loose swing with easy bat speed and jump off the barrel.

Emilio Rosas  SS - 2018 - Yorba Linda, CA
Southern California

Everything that Emilio Rosas did throughout the showcase was smooth and easy, especially his defensive instincts up the middle. His footwork is pure and the hands are soft and as he continues to add physical strength that bat will continue to develop though he also shows a fluid path and present jump off the barrel with a sound bat path. He’s committed to Cal.

Brandon Neeck  LHP - 2018 - Chappaqua, NY
Virginia

Brandon Neeck is only listed at 6-foot, 165-pounds and has a young look to him but don’t let that fool you as his left arm is lightening quick. Up to 90 mph with his best fastball Neeck shows a full and loose arm action with solid angle at release and sinking life down in the zone. He already spins a tight slider well at 78 mph and projects extremely well moving forward.

Nolan Gorman  SS - 2018 - Glendale, AZ
Arizona

The Perfect Game staff was able to see Gorman swing it this spring and they came away impressed, very much as those who saw him in Fort Myers did. His hands are lightening quick from the left side of the plate with present strength off the barrel and more coming while showing versatility on defense with sound actions at any of the infield positions in live game action.

Oliver McCarthy  LHP - 2018 - Brooklyn, NY
Duke

McCarthy is young and lefthanded so naturally college coaches will bear down and the fact that his arm action is near effortless and he ran his fastball up to 87 mph is even further proof of being a top prospect. Along with the fastball the uncommitted McCarthy has developed a sharp slider since the beginning of the spring, consistently spinning the pitch in the mid- to- upper-70s with tight rotation and sharp bite.

Jack Herman  OF - 2018 - Berlin, NJ
Maryland

Jack Herman, a Maryland commit, is full of tools, each of which are pretty loud and showed up throughout the showcase. After running a 6.56 60-yard Herman proceeded to throw 89 mph from the outfield with an easy arm action though it’s the bat that could end up being the loudest tool as he creates big whip with the barrel and is capable of losing a baseball with the best of them.

Anthony Seigler  C - 2018 - Cartersville, GA
Florida

There doesn't appear to be anything Seigler can't on the baseball field. While catching may very well be his best position as he popped a 1.87 and threw 82 mph down, he's also a switch-pitcher and was up to 87 mph from both side. Seigler hits from both sides of the plate and can do so at a high level with both bat speed and leverage at point of contact.

Grant Burton  OF - 2018 - San Juan Capistrano, CA
Stanford

Grant Burton has already been to several Perfect Game showcases and each time we get to see his development with the most recent viewing serving as his best. He’s a 6.79 runner despite being strongly built at 6-foot-2, 210-pound and he put that strength on display as he connected for the lone in game home run, a towering blast over the Green Monster that came off the barrel at 99 mph according to TrackMan.

Hunter Watson  3B - 2018 - Pottsboro, TX
Texas A&M

Watson has long been on the prospect scene courtesy of his big lefthanded power and though he showed some of it off in batting practice, the ability to go with the outer half pitched truly shined through. On top of the bat Watson also showed off his athleticism and arm strength as he ran a 6.95 (he’s listed at 6-foot-3, 205-pounds) and threw 86 mph across the diamond.

Gunnar Hoglund  RHP - 2018 - Hudson, FL
Mississippi

Just as he did last summer Gunnar Hoglund, an Ole Miss commit, came out and showed a very loose and easy arm action that produced an upper-80s fastball with little effort. Along with his ability to sink the fastball down in the zone Hoglund also showed a swing-and-miss type changeup, mimicking the arm action of his fastball with late diving life down in the zone.

Jordan Armstrong  RHP - 2018 - McDonough, GA
Auburn/Chattahoochee Valley CC

Jordan Armstrong was one of the top uncommitted arms of the event and though he’s already bumping 89 mph with his fastball, it’s certain that there’s a good bit more left in the tank. His arm action is very loose and clean coming through the back and his 6-foot-2 frame can handle additional strength and when those factors are combined with his ability to turn over a quality changeup, college coaches are certain to take notice.

Nick O’Day  OF - 2018 - Coatesville, PA
La Salle

A future Horned Frog, O’Day proved that his swing translates very well from batting practice to live pitching as he found the barrel with regularity and showed a willingness to use all fields while retaining the looseness to his hands in his swing. The athleticism is evident as he ran a 6.86 60-yard and also threw 86 mph from the outfield with a compact arm action and nice carry.

Jack Carey  RHP - 2018 - Summit, NJ
Duke

Carey opened the showcase with a bang as he came out and bumped his fastball up to 92 mph with a balanced delivery and steady downhill plane with running life. Though he attacked hitters with fastballs early with the ability to locate to either side and miss bats, the Duke commit showed a nice changeup with which he maintained his arm speed at 83 mph as well as a short breaking ball in the upper-70s.

Cory Acton  2B - 2018 - Fort Lauderdale, FL
Florida

Cory Acton has already been noted several times in the past for his ability to handle the barrel from the left side and not much changed through his most recent showing. His swing is very simple yet fast and the barrel feel is uncanny with sound balance though he also had a strong showing defensively with light footwork and arm strength that plays on the left side of the diamond.

Matthew Liberatore  LHP - 2018 - Peoria, AZ
Arizona

Liberatore possesses a few ingredients that college coaches are looking for in a young pitching prospect; he's got size, he's can spin a breaking ball, and he's lefthanded. Still very much projectable despite being listed at 6-foot-3, 190-pounds, Liberatore currently shows a loose and quick arm action which helped produce a fastball that worked in the upper-80s and peaked at 89.

Aaron Sabato  SS - 2018 - Rye Brook, NY
North Carolina

Like Elliott above, Sabato had a mighty impressive showing at the showcase and then quickly committed to North Carolina where he’ll join his brother Teddy (incoming freshman). Aaron is a strongly built 6-foot-2, 200-pound infielder who showed arm strength across, those it’s his righthanded bat that truly impresses. There’s plenty of bat and hand speed to his swing with leverage out front and hard jump coming off the barrel to all parts of the field.

JP Gates  LHP - 2018 - Brooksville, FL
Miami

Like so many other prospects on the list, Gates made his Perfect Game debut at a young age and he’s been a fun one to follow. Just as he did back when we first saw him, Gates has continued to show outstanding command of the strike zone and a feel for a four-pitch arsenal that can rival any. He was up to 88 mph with his fastball though just as impressive was his ability to spot a curveball, slider, or changeup at will.

Manny Gonzalez  OF - 2018 - Toa Baja, PR
Wabash Valley College

Gonzalez was one of the youngest players in attendance at just 15 years old but he already shows tools that stand out amongst a collection of the nation's best. His 6-foot-3, 160-pound frame is easy to project upon with long and loose limbs, though don't let the frame fool you has he showed off impressive strength in his righthanded swing with the ability to elevate baseballs.

Jack Alexander  C - 2018 - Kennesaw, GA
Austin Peay State

Alexander is an athletic backstop who showed well behind the plate in a game setting, just as he had during the drills when he popped at 1.92 and showed a strong arm down to second base up to 80 mph. The righthanded hitting Alexander also showed a natural feel for the barrel, consistently squaring balls up with a simple approach in the box.

Matthew Wyatt Beddow  RHP - 2018 - Camp Hill, PA
Wake Forest

Beddow is a young righthander who made the trip down from Pennsylvania and impressed with both his present stuff and potential on the mound. Listed at 6-foot-3, the Penn State commit ran his fastball up to 89 mph with solid downhill plane and the ability to miss barrels. To complement the heater Beddow flashed a 12-6 curveball with solid depth up to 74 mph.

Alexandro Bello  SS - 2018 - Hialeah, FL
South Florida

Bello checks all the boxes on the defensive side of the ball as the uncommitted shortstop shows soft yet very quick hands that play extremely well at the ball. He's a 6.69 runner and he shows the same quickness with lateral range to either side while showing a nice handle for the barrel and comfort to hit to all fields.

Drew Bianco  SS - 2018 - Oxford, MS
Louisiana State

The son of Ole Miss Head Coach Mike Bianco, Drew is a young but polished middle infielder who’s already committed to LSU and it’s easy to see why. After running a 6.76 60-yard Bianco showed a soft glove defensively before putting his easy and leveraged righthanded swing on display, on that possesses a strong feel for the barrel with strength coming off.

Ryan Bliss  MIF - 2018 - Lagrange, GA
Auburn

Ryan Bliss is full of fast-twitch muscle and high end tools and he knows how to blend them all together, especially on the defensive side of the ball. A 6.70 60-yard runner, Bliss excelled defensively both in drills and live actions with very soft hands and balance footwork while also showing a simple righthanded swing that helped produce hard barreled contact to all parts of the field. He’s committed to Auburn.

Jacob Burton  RHP - 2018 - Diana, TX
Arkansas

Jacob Burton, an Oklahoma commit, did a little bit of everything throughout the showcase and did all of it well. He’s a primary righthanded pitcher and ran his fastball up to 90 mph with a tight breaking ball and fast arm, something he also showed on his 94 mph throw from the outfield. Burton also ran a 6.76 and showed a short and quick stroke from the right side with some jump.

Henry Davis  C - 2018 - Bedford, NY
Louisville

Davis committed to Louisville this past spring and with the catch-and-throw skilled possessed by the New York native it’s easy to see why. He popped a 1.75 during drills and showed off plus arm strength behind the dish with a top throw of 86 mph before showing quickness to his hands a feel to use the middle of the field from the righthanded batter’s box.

Raynel Delgado  SS - 2018 - Miami Lakes, FL
Florida International

Delgado possesses nice tools on both sides of the ball as he moves well on his feet up the middle with clean, athletic actions while showing strength across. He's also a switch-hitter who shows barrel skills from either side though his lefthanded stroke shows a little more balance and fluidity at present. He's uncommitted and also ran a 6.99 60-yard dash.

Giovanni DiGiacomo  OF - 2018 - Naples, FL
Louisiana State

Giovanni DiGiacomo is listed at 6-foot-1, 145-pounds and with the athletic frame comes his blazing speed which is evidenced by the 6.45 60-yard dash he posted. The speed suits him well in centerfield where he projects to stay at the next level and it also bodes well atop the lineup where his lefthanded swing and all fields approach with benefit from the game changing speed.

Xavier Edwards  SS - 2018 - Wellington, FL
Vanderbilt

Edwards might only be listed at 5-foot-9, 140-pounds pounds but he's an exceptional athlete with a defensive presence that can challenge any in the class. He's a 6.61 type runner and already committed to Vanderbilt with advanced footwork and very soft hands capable of picking nearly anything out of the dirt. Edwards is also a switch-hitter with a feel for the barrel from either side showing quickness to his hands.

Jarrett Ford  OF - 2018 - Decatur, GA
Young Harris College/St. Johns River CC

Jarrett Ford, a recent University of Tennessee commit, is full of fast-twitch muscle and he knows how to incorporate it into his game. He posted a 6.65 60-yard time and shows the same type of quickness to his footwork up the middle while an increase in physicality has helped make strides offensively as he showed a natural feel for the barrel and surprising jump.

Will Gambino  RHP - 2018 - Haddonfield, NJ
Kentucky

Gambino showed off big time arm strength from the outfield, topping out at 93 mph with his best throw while showing a loose arm action and solid carry out of the hand. Already committed to The Citadel, Gambino is also a switch-hitter with quick hands and a short stroke from either side though he shows his best contact from the right side of the plate.

Ben Harris  OF - 2018 - Alpharetta, GA
Georgia

Ben Harris is an excellent athlete who’s currently uncommitted and shows big potential on the mound despite being listed as a primary outfielder. A 6.70 runner, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound lefthanded Harris sat in the 86-88 mph range while on the mound with a quick and easy arm action, regularly locating down in the zone with solid deception out of the hand.

Nicholas Juaire  C - 2018 - Farmington, MN
TCU

Juaire, who’s currently uncommitted, made the trip down from Minnesota and left his mark as he performed well on both sides of the ball. He’s a switch-hitter who was able to generate whip and solid bat speed from the right side with hard contact and also showed an extremely quick transfer with solid arm strength from behind the dish, throwing 79 mph and popping a 1.80.

Paul Komistek  OF - 2018 - Knoxville, TN
University of Cincinnati

Paul Komistek is a young third base prospect who’s already committed to the University of Tennessee and you can see why with his skills. After running a 6.69 60-yard, an exceptional time for a player with his 6-foot-2 build, Komistek proceeded to show big arm strength across the diamond and a feel for the barrel from the right side of the plate.

Andrew Lee  OF - 2018 - Boynton Beach, FL
Louisiana State

Andrew Lee showed very well in all dimensions of his game and it’s obvious why the LSU coaching staff pulled the trigger early. He’s big and strong at 6-foot-1, 190-pounds, can run a sub-7 60-yard, and shows extremely fast hands at the plate with hard jump off the barrel and solid leveraged contact coming to his pull side. He also threw 89 mph from the outfield.

Kingston Liniak  OF - 2018 - San Marcos, CA
San Diego

A University of San Diego commit, Liniak already shows present tools across the board but they also project very well moving forward as he fills out his long and athletic 6-foot-2 frame. The arm strength is a big tool from the outfield, as is his 6.69 speed and full, fluid righthanded swing with a simple path and bat speed through the zone.

Boston Mabeus  LHP - 2018 - Henderson, NV
Brigham Young

Mabeus may be listed as a primary outfielder and though he only threw one inning on the mound the lefthanded Las Vegas impressed with the arm speed and simplicity of his delivery. Uncommitted, Mabeus was up to 87 mph with limited effort out of the hand while generating nice extension and spinning a hard, tight curveball at 78 mph.

Dillon Marsh  LHP - 2018 - Elizabethtown, PA
Kentucky

Dillon Marsh will certainly demand your attention as he takes the mound standing at 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame and the lefthander who’s committed to Wake Forest has big stuff too. Up to 87 mph with his fastball, Marsh was able to create solid angle at the point of release and turned over a quality changeup as well at 76 mph with fading life.

Shane Marshall  C - 2018 - Naples, FL
Georgia

Marshall may be listed at 6-foot-3, 180-pounds but he’s an excellent athlete as his 6.85 60-yard would indicate and it plays well behind the plate too where he shows solid footwork with a loose and whippy arm action (78 mph, 2.02 pop). From the right side of the plate Marshall shows easy bat speed with a consistent feel for the barrel and a comfort to use all fields.

Chris Mondesi  3B - 2018 - Brooklyn, NY
Connors State College

Mondesi has the type of infield actions, as well as arm strength, that you can envision playing the left side of the diamond at the next level. His overall actions are smooth and he shows a quick transfer into a loose and whippy arm action that generates solid carry across the diamond. He also shows interesting potential with the bat from the right side.

Connor Ollio  SS - 2018 - Renfrew, PA
North Carolina

Connor Ollio did a little bit of everything and whichever school he ultimately chooses will be getting a talented player with two-way capabilities. At present the righthanded bat may be his loudest tool as the swing is short and direct yet leveraged with strength coming off though he’s also up to 86 mph with cutting life and a feel for a full three-pitch arsenal.

Eric Orlowski  RHP - 2018 - Mebane, NC
Uncommitted

Eric Orlowski, who’s currently uncommitted, was able to use his long and lean 6-foot-4 frame to his advantage on the mound, generating solid downhill plane to his fastball that topped out at 89 mph with occasional cutting life to the glove side. On top of the heater Orlowski showed a nice feel for his changeup with short diving life and flashed a 12-6 curveball at 72 mph.

Luke Patzner  RHP - 2018 - Urbandale, IA
Heartland CC

Patzner very much looks the part of a big time arm as he stands 6-foot-3, 205-pounds and he has the long and loose arm action to match. Already up to 90 mph with more on the way, the uncommitted Patzner was able to generate nice extension out front with the ability to live down in the zone while mixing in a sharp tilting slider and a short fading changeup with an arm arm action that replicated the release of his fastball.

Stephen Pelli  RHP - 2018 - Arnold, MD
Kansas State/Wabash Valley College

Stephen Pelli came in for his two innings of work and immediately went into attack mode with his arsenal. A Virginia Tech commit, the righthanded Pelli filled up the strike zone with his fastball that reached as high as 91 mph with solid downhill plane and also threw a sharp 12-6 curveball for plenty of strikes at 76 mph with late biting life.

Miko Rodriguez  OF - 2018 - Ada, MI
Southern California

Miko Rodriguez showed off some of the louder tools of the event as he ran a 6.80 60-yard and followed that up by showing plus arm strength from the outfield with a top throw of 95 mph with athletic and repeatable actions. The tools continued with the bat as he showed off a short yet strong swing with plenty of jump and carry off the barrel to the middle and pull parts of the field.

Bayden Root  RHP - 2018 - Kokomo, IN
Ohio State

Root, who’s committed to the University of Miami, showed off interesting two-way potential with skills that project well for the next level. Already listed at 6-foot-3, 203-pounds the Indiana native showed a loose and easy arm action that helped produce a top fastball velocity of 89 mph though he’s also able to generate big barrel whip with hard jump from the right side and repeats the swing well.

Alec Sanchez  2B - 2018 - Jacksonville, FL
Florida State

Sanches continued to do what he's always done at Perfect Game events and that's hit. He's made a few mechanical adjustments to his swing but still remains extremely balanced with an exceptional feel for the barrel head, making consistent contact while showing power during batting practice. He also threw 86 mph across and ran a 6.95.

Christian Scott  RHP - 2018 - Parkland, FL
Florida

In an event full of young, projectable arms, future Florida Gator Christian Scott certainly ranks some atop that list. With a long and lean 6-foot-3, 165-pound frame Scott is able to generate solid whip to his loose arm action and does a nice job of repeating his mechanics. He topped out at 90 mph and lived down in the zone with late riding life and the ability to stay off of barrels.

Will Shirah  LHP - 2018 - Blue Ridge, GA
Georgia Tech

Shirah is a young lefthander who projects nicely with added strength to his 6-foot-2 frame though he already shows some good stuff on the mound. Uncommitted, Shirah worked comfortably in the mid-80s with his fastball and topped out at 87 mph with solid plane to the bottom of the zone while comfortably mixing in a nice 1-7 shaped curveball which he threw for strikes rather readily.

Conner Thurman  RHP - 2018 - Mesa, AZ
Arizona

Making the trip out from Arizona, uncommitted righthander Conner Thurman did his thing on the mound and ran his fastball up to 90 mph from a deceptive low three-quarters slot. With a loose arm action Thurman was able to generate life to his fastball and also showed a feel to spin a nice slider at 75 mph that offered depth from a similar release point.

Ian Villers  RHP - 2018 - Walnut Creek, CA
California

Though he didn’t take the mound during the event, Ian Villers has been been up to 90 mph in past Perfect Game events and this time showed off interesting power potential. A physical presence in the box at 6-foot-4, 225-pounds is able to generate big bat speed from the right side with hard jump and big leverage to the middle of the field. He’s committed to Cal.

McGuire Weaver  SS - 2018 - Tampa, FL
Florida State

Already committed to Florida State, McGuire Weaver took home the title of fastest 60-yard as he clocked in at a blazing 6.44 seconds. He shows the same type of athleticism and quick feet in the infield and projects well with the bat from the right side with additional strength as he shows a feel for the barrel and an ability to create line drive contact to all parts of the field.

Justin Wrobleski  LHP - 2018 - Canton, GA
Oklahoma State/State College of Florida

Uncommitted, Wrobleski is an easy one to project on as the 6-foot-2 frame has plenty of room left to fill, the arm action on the mound is loose and easy, and he’s a good athlete as evidenced by his 6.67 60-yard. On the mound he was up to 88 mph while creating angle and run, but almost more impressive was his ability to spin a hard slider up to 80 mph with late bite.

2019 Top Prospects

Jacob Herbert  C - 2019 - Lakeland, FL
State College of Florida

The arm strength from behind the plate is evident for Herbert as the young Florida commit threw an impressive 80 mph from behind the plate, though the strength in his righthanded swing is even more intriguing. There's a simple weight shift through the lower half helping to produce easy bat speed and extremely hard contact coming off the barrel with extension.

Joe Charles  RHP - 2019 - Celebration, FL
Florida State

Charles has been on the circuit for a little bit and he continues to make strides each time we see him. Uncommitted, Charles was up to 89 mph this showcase with a long and loose arm action. He flashed a sharp, downer breaking ball up to 77 mph and flashed a changeup at 80 mph.

Jake Holland  C - 2019 - Clermont, FL
Georgia Tech

Holland is another young commit to a powerhouse school in the state of Florida with the Miami Hurricanes, and like Herbert above, shows solid tools on both sides of the plate. There's a quick transfer and present arm strength from behind the plate and a short, simple swing from the right side that allows for hard contact to all fields.

Adrian Colon  OF - 2019 - Humacao, PR
Southern California

Colon is a young prospect we first saw last fall at a showcase in Puerto Rico and as expected his game has continued to make nice improvements. Showing nice speed that plays well in centerfield, 6.77 60-yard dash, Colon also swung a loud bat from the left side with quick hands and hard in game contact to his pull side.

Nolan Crisp  RHP - 2019 - Locust Grove, GA
Georgia

Similar to Charles above, Nolan Crisp has been on the scene for a little bit of time now and continues to improve all around. On the mound he topped out at 89 mph with a loose and quick arm while spinning a hard, late biting slider up to 80 mph to the bottom of the zone that regularly missed barrels.

Andrew Roberts  3B - 2019 - Altamonte Springs, FL
University of Alabama at Birmingham

Roberts is yet another talented and young player from the state of Florida and he also put his two-way abilities on display. He was up to 86 mph on the mound with a loose arm action and showed solid bats peed and strength coming off the barrel to all parts of the field.

Tyler Callihan  3B - 2019 - Neptune Beach, FL
South Carolina

Callihan is a young lefthanded bat who not only impressed during his batting practice session but also showed quick hands and a fluid path in game with regular barreled contact. He showed the arm strength across the diamond for the left side with a quick transfer and accuracy to throws.

Jack Leiter  RHP - 2019 - Summit, NJ
Vanderbilt

Leiter is the son of former MLB pitcher Al Leiter and the bloodlines are evident while watching the young arm throw. Up to 86 mph with his best fastball, the uncommitted Leiter showed fastball command to either side of the plate along with with a full array of secondaries.

Free Agents Top Prospects

Estanli Castillo Abad  OF - Free Agents - Santo Domingo, NC DOM

The fact that Estani Castillo is still just 14 years old and not eligible for another two July 2s is astounding considering the physical 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame and the high level strength and bat speed that comes with the body. The whip and barrel is something you'd hope to see in a college player, let alone a play of Castillo's ago and he looks to be potential high dollar sign.

Adrian Hernandez  OF - Free Agents - Santo Domingo, SD DOM

Hernandez is another young player from the Dominican who has a loud set of tools and will certainly be on scout's radar for when he's eligible to sign. A 6.58 runner, the 6-foot-1 Hernandez showed easy defensive actions in the outfield with big arm strength and a contact approach with some leverage and strength coming off to pull side.
