2021 Top Prospects

Juan Correa  3B - 2021 - Weston, FL
Stetson

The tall and projectable 2-way prospect showed exciting tools. He has huge power potential in his right handed swing but also shows good barrel accuracy as well. He has a solid third base profile with plenty of arm strength to stay there. On the mound he has a free and easy arm stroke with effortless upper-80s velocity.

David Bishop  SS - 2021 - Marietta, GA
TCU

The 6-3/180 infielder is starting to fill out and had a noticeable uptick in bat speed during the event. He has a smooth stroke and jump to the pulls side. Even though he has a big frame, he is light on his feet and can make all the plays at shortstop, with plenty of arm strength that was clocked at 93 mph during workouts.

Connor Manning  RHP - 2021 - Coral Springs, FL
South Florida

The 6-3 Manning ran his fastball up to 90-mph during the event with his usual cut that makes him very hard to square. He has the look of a power arm that can work through a line up multiple times. His breaking ball is also a real weapon as he can manipulate it with purpose.

Bryce Braxton  RHP - 2021 - Dade City, FL
Florida Atlantic

Braxton is a pretty polished 6-0 right-handed pitcher. He worked his fastball down in the zone, peaking at 87, and can pitch to both corners. He has really made strides with his upper-70s slider that is getting more swing and miss now.

Esteban Rodriguez  RHP - 2021 - Doral, FL
Richmond

The sturdy 6-0/210 right-handed pitcher has a very good 2-pitch mix. He peaked at 87-mph in all three innings and attacked the zone with conviction. His upper upper-70s curveball has tight spin and real potential to be a go-to offering, already getting bad swing and miss.

Sergio Ortiz  SS - 2021 - Yabucoa, PR
Indiana State/Vernon College

Ortiz checked a lot of boxes as he ran a 6.75-sixty, threw 91 across the diamond, and even bumped 87 on the mound. He is a "sum of the parts" type player with a lot of different tools that can impact a game.

William Sanchez  SS - 2021 - Montverde, FL
St. Johns River CC

Sanchez is a shifty middle infield prospect with 85-mph arm strength that plays up because of his transfer skills and accuracy across the diamond. He is a top of the order type bat that can spray line drives all over the field and runs a 6.68-sixty.

Robert Fernandez  RHP - 2021 - Miami, FL
Miami-Dade College

Fernandez came out firing as he peaked at 89-mph early. He has some deception which helps his glove side control play way up. His curveball has good shape and will develop into a solid offering as he throws it with intent.

Nathan Tinder  RHP - 2021 - Winter Springs, FL
Lake Sumter CC

Tinder showed a smooth left-handed swing with power potential as his 6-3 frame fills out. He also has a loose arm and gets downhill plane on his fastball that peaked at 86-mph. He should be able to do continue to play both ways moving forward.

Frank Micallef  C - 2021 - Tampa, FL
South Florida

Micallef has a strong 6-1/205 frame has definition throughout. He has a strong and direct right-handed swing with future power potential, though more suited for line drives now. He popped a 1.97 behind the plate and has lots of carry on his throws.

Nathan Shane  RHP - 2021 - Plant City, FL
Lynn

The 6-3 right-handed pitcher has good shoulder quickness that produced 87-mph fastballs. He got good plane on the pitch and mixed both a curveball and change up, both playing well off his fastball. He has some ability with the bat as well.

Clayton Boroski  RHP - 2021 - Saint Cloud, FL
North Florida

Boroski is a 2-way player that has good feel for the barrel on the offensive side. He stays to the middle and hits hard line drives. On the mound is where he really shined during the event. The 6-foot right-hander moves his fastball to all four quadrants, sitting in the mid-80s. He has feel for 3-pitches and his curveball has a chance to be above average.

Erick Gonzalez  RHP - 2021 - Bayamon, PR
Jackson State

The Bayamon, PR native lived in the mid-80s with his fastball and pounded the glove side with hard angle. He is strong and held his velocity throughout. His curveball had good shape and he used it effectively with the ability to add and subtract with the pitch.

Ryan Jenkins  2B - 2021 - Winter Haven, FL
Florida Southern

Jenkins is a winner. He looks like he can stay at short stop with some of the plays he made in game, showing a quick transfer and arm strength. He worked out at catcher too, showing quick feet and a fast transfer. He sits in the mid-80s with his fastball and has feel for a tight breaker. He also ran a 6.92-sixty.

Justin Webster  RHP - 2021 - Pembroke Pines, FL
Kansas State

Webster was up to 86 with his fastball and still has big projection left in his 6-5/180 frame. He has some arm speed and he will keep make jumps as he is able to put weight on his frame. He mixes 3-pitches, and will throw any of them during any count.

John McIntosh  OF - 2021 - Treasure Island, FL
Palm Beach State

The left-handed hitting outfielder ran a 6.81 sixty and took a very accurate batting practice. His loose and whippy swing carried over to the game as he was able to collect hits to all parts of the field. His eye hand coordination really stood out.


2022 Top Prospects

Fulton Lockhart  RHP - 2022 - Lithia, FL
South Florida

There is some electric arm speed in the right shoulder of 6-4 Lockhart. He peaked at 91-mph with some sinking life when he got extended. He has the makings of a power curveball that he is starting to harness. The 2-way prospect showed good upside at third base and big power potential in his right-hand bat.

Trey Wheeler  LHP - 2022 - Indialantic, FL
South Carolina

Wheeler had one of the more dominating outings of the event. He ran his fastball up to 87-mph and worked both sides of the plate with the pitch. His change up is a future plus pitch as he matches is release and hand speed. His curveball is solid and he found the feel for it as the outing went on.

Fernando Hernandez  C - 2022 - Orlando, FL
Bethune-Cookman

The physical backstop had one of the biggest arms at the event throwing 77-mph to second base during drills. He has a smooth transfer and accuracy on his throws, even gunning down runners during game play. His swing is geared toward pull power and he notched a couple hard barrels off of live pitching.

Solomon Skalnik  OF - 2022 - Owasso, OK
Baylor

A standout in all phases of the showcase, Skalnik is a powerfully built outfielder with impressive bat speed. He hammered balls during both batting practice and game play. He even jumped on the mound and peaked at 84.

Danny Baez  SS - 2022 - Oviedo, FL
Florida Atlantic/Indian River State College

There is real upside on both sides of the ball for Baez. He brings defensive versatility, but could easily stay on the left side of the diamond. The value though is his bat, which is quick and provides plenty of potential to hit for both power and high average. It carried over in games and he hit balls hard to both sides of the field.

Freddy Oquendo  OF - 2022 - Hialeah, FL
Arizona Western College

Oquendo is a sweet swinging left handed hitter that has impressive hand speed for his slender 6-0/165 frame. He has fluid hips and loose wrists that allow him to whip the barrel through the zone. He runs well and also has good quickness on the defensive side.

Anthony “AJ” Hunerberg  OF - 2022 - Palm Beach Gardens, FL
Uncommitted

Hunerberg ran a 6.81-sixty and threw 88-mph from the outfield during workouts. He has a great body to build on and he should add power as he fills out. He hammered a triple during game play to round out a solid showcase.

Luke Labriola  1B - 2022 - Bradenton, FL
Hillsborough CC

The 6-2 Labriola has a fluid left-handed stroke that should produce both average and power in the future. He is a solid athlete and has natural barrel skills that could lead to a middle of the order run producer as he matures.

Reynaldo Plasencia  SS - 2022 - Hialeah, FL
Seminole State College of Florida

Placencia took one of the better rounds at short stop of any payer at the event. He has good range, soft hands, and the ability to throw from different arm angles. He is strong for his age and has intent to the pull side in the right-handed batters box.

Christopher Roberts  SS - 2022 - Lutz, FL
Uncommitted

Roberts had very fast hands at the plate and showed lots of length through contact. He impacted the ball hard to the middle of the field and it should translate to games easily. He has defensive versatility and a lot of confidence on the diamond.


2023 Top Prospects

Jaziel Martinez  C - 2023 - Dorado, PR

The strongly built catcher has easy transfer skills and consistent footwork as he was very accurate throwing to second base, popping a 2.0 during drills. The right-handed hitter has extra strong hands and powers hard through contact with the barrel.
