2020 Top Prospects

Zac Addkison  RHP - 2020 - San Antonio, TX
Marshall

Addkison is a big and strong 6-4/225 right hander with Texas sized arm strength. He worked at 87-90 through his four inning outing, striking out 11 of the 13 hitters he faced. His sharp breaking slider was a second potential plus pitch and showed the ability to get both those pitches to different parts of the plate at will.

Cade Citelli  RHP - 2020 - Prosper, TX
University of Texas at Arlington

Citelli had all the ingredients you want to see in a young pitcher, including a loose and athletic 6-2/185 build, a fast and easy arm and low effort mechanics. He worked mostly 85-88 mph with his fastball, topping out at 90 and had a very nice 77 mph slider with good 10/4 tilt and sharpness as his secondary pitch. He is presently uncommitted.

Hunter Dyck  RHP - 2020 - Dallas, TX
Western Texas College

Dyck has a strong 6-2/195 pound build and solid drop and drive mechanics to the plate. He filled up the zone with mid to upper-80's fastballs that topped out at 89 mph and showed a big breaking sharp low 70's curveball as his best secondary pitch. He's an uncommitted rising senior with a Division One arm.

Brock Kuehler  RHP - 2020 - Colleyville, TX
Central Arkansas

Kuehler is a high level two-way prospect who might have a higher ceiling as a power hitting first baseman than as a pitcher. He was up to 87 mph with a solid three-pitch mix on the mound and filled up the strike zone. But his right handed bat speed was among the top couple at the Showcase and he made very loud and easy contact.

Will Thomas  OF - 2020 - The Woodlands, TX
University of Texas at Arlington

Thomas is a live boded athlete with tools across the board and solid all around fundamentals. He ran a 6.78 and had lots of left handed bat speed with especially quick and loose hands. He graded out as one of the top defensive outfielder's at the event and even threw 87 with a sharp curveball from the mound. He's an uncommitted rising senior.

Tag Allen  OF - 2020 - Duncan, OK
Uncommitted

Allen is a big 6-0/205 athlete but is surprisingly athletic, with 6.69 speed in the sixty and a quick first step on the field. He strength gives him lots of right handed bat speed and he has the ability to drive the ball hard to pull side.

Caleb Heuertz  SS - 2020 - San Angelo, TX
Midland College

Heurtz was one of the top two-way prospects at the event, with next level tools as an infielder/outfielder in the field, a strong right handed line drive swing and an 88 mph fastball from the mound. Heurtz's most interesting pitch may have been his slider, which absolutely disappeared a few times due to his very extended high 3/4's high angle release point.

Sam Stephenson  SS - 2020 - Springdale, AR
Arkansas Tech

Stephenson is a live bodied athlete who ran a 6.70 sixty and is very light and athletic on his feet defensively. His right handed swing can get a big busy at times but there is strong next level bat speed there and the ability to make the ball jump.

Sterling Sutcliffe  SS - 2020 - Dallas, TX
Uncommitted

Sutcliffe is a versatile defensive player who looked athletic both in the outfield and infield and runs a 6.9 sixty. A 6-2/185 left handed hitter with lots of strength projection, he also had plenty of bat speed and some power potential. To cap it off, the uncommitted rising senior also was 84 mph off the mound.

Logan Whitling  C - 2020 - Holliday, TX
Uncommitted

Whitling may end up at a corner infield position in the future but his best future position will be Hitter. He has easy right handed bat speed and a surprisingly short and low effort swing from a big 6-1/200 athlete to produce that bat speed. His arm strength is his best defensive tool.

Devon Brookins  MIF - 2020 - Desoto, TX
Uncommitted

Brookins is a quick twitch athlete with plenty of room to add strength to his 5-11/166 frame. He ran the sixty in a blazing 6.53 and has quick hands at the plate which generate lots of bat speed with a short line drive swing. He projects at second base defensively.

Michael Buckley  OF - 2020 - Mesquite, TX
Mississippi Valley State

Buckley has a nice combination of next level tools, with 6.94 speed in the sixty, solid athleticism in the outfield and lots of right handed bat speed. He projects to keep getting stronger and continuing to improve.

Jack Hanson  OF - 2020 - San Antonio, TX
Uncommitted

Hanson looks stronger than his listed 6-1/180 build and it really comes through in his right handed bat speed. He has a loose and extended well timed swing and barreled the ball up well with hard line drive contact. Hanson is also an elite level student as a rising uncommitted senior.

Mohamed Harati  RHP - 2020 - Houston, TX
Wharton County Junior College

Harati is a live bodied young athlete with middle infield athleticism. He has a whippy and fast arm that will enable him to play on the left side of the field and was even up to 87 on the mound. A right handed hitter, he has whip and bat speed in his swing and will have plenty of extra base power.

Zane Raba  OF - 2020 - San Antonio, TX
Navy

Raba is a rising senior with good present strength and solid overall tools. He ran a 6.82 sixty while showing 88 mph arm strength from the outfield and had plenty of left handed bat speed.

Logan Williams  3B - 2020 - Forney, TX
Vernon College

Williams is an advanced right handed hitter with a strong 6-2/195 build, present strength and a very calm approach at the plate. He hits with confidence and bat speed and made very consistent hard contact with plenty of power potential.

Collin Young  OF - 2020 - Magnolia, TX
Bossier Parish CC

Young is a live bodied athlete with 6.78 speed in the sixty and a solid throwing arm from the outfield. He has a polished right handed swing approach with good present bat speed and made consistent hard line drive contact.

Anthony Gross  LHP - 2020 - Cypress, TX
Galveston College

Gross has a long armed 6-1/185 build and a loose arm from a high 3/4's arm slot that created good angle to the plate. He topped out at 86 mph on his fastball and also threw a big breaking slow curveball that kept hitters off balance.

Kyler Heyne  RHP - 2020 - Frisco, TX
Howard College

Heyne is a good all-around athlete with some two-way potential and that athleticism helps him on the mound. He was up to 85 mph from a sound delivery and threw a full assortment of secondary pitches, with his slider being his best such offering. He fills up the zone and projects as a starter.

Chandler Koffel  RHP - 2020 - Arlington, TX
Vernon College

Koffel has a young 6-2/179 that has plenty of room to get stronger. He was up to 84 mph from a high 3/4's arm slot that created nice angle to the plate and showed advanced feel for spotting his curveball. He's a very good bet to keep adding velocity as he fills out and gets stronger and already knows how to pitch.

Andrew Cates  C - 2020 - Waco, TX
East Texas Baptist University

Cates is a pretty limber athlete for a 6-1/225 athlete and had sound fundamental actions behind the plate but his big tool moving forward is his right handed power potential. He gets good jump off the barrel to all fields and has the ability to drive the ball hard when he turns on it.

Weston Peninger  C - 2020 - Flower Mound, TX
Howard College

Peninger has a long and lean 6-4/180 build that has lots of growing to do and showed plenty of well rounded tools that all project to keep improving. Along with having next level catching and hitting potential, Peninger was also up to 84 mph from a very deceptive mid 3/4's arm slot to go with a sweeping slider that really messed up right handed hitters.

2021 Top Prospects

Benjamin Baker-Livingston  RHP - 2021 - Richardson, TX
New Mexico

Baker-Livingston is an athletic 6-0/180 right hander with a strong and fast right arm. He worked up to 89 mph from a high 3/4's arm slot and threw both a power curveball and a hard sinking change up that were both quality pitches. He's also a switch-hitter with next level bat speed from the left side.

Sergio Guerra  C - 2021 - San Diego, TX
Texas Rio Grande Valley

Guerra is a very athletic 6-0/180 catcher who has a chance to be a defensive standout behind the plate with more experience. He has a plus arm right now that is a weapon and that arm and athleticism also play well in the middle infield on defense.

Bryce Johnson  OF - 2021 - Fairview, TX
Northeast Texas CC

Johnson is a young Louisiana-Lafayette commit with an outstanding 6-4/200 frame that can hold plenty more strength. He's an all around athlete who can play all over the infield and outfield defensively and was 86 mph off the mound. Johnson showed plenty of right handed bat speed and leverage in his swing as well.

Juan Garcia  SS - 2021 - Round Rock, TX
Uncommitted

Garcia really stood out in the games defensively, especially with his outstanding hands and very quick actions, and projects as a high level defensive second baseman. Those same quick hands showed at the plate with a short high average line drive swing.

Chase Pendley  SS - 2021 - Prosper, TX
Baylor

Pendley was one of the best defensive middle infielder's at the Showcase and consistently made next level plays in the games. He has a rangy 6-0/165 build that looks and plays taller, plenty of raw arm strength and the type of athleticism that always seems to be on balance.

Tristan Moreno  OF - 2021 - Seguin, TX
Uncommitted

What Moreno lacks in size at 5-9/140 he makes up for in athleticism as a 6.66 runner who showed next level ability both in the outfield and infield defensively. He has a nice high contact right handed swing and just needs another 20-25 pounds of muscle to give himself some real bat speed.

Lane Brewster  OF - 2021 - League City, TX
Sam Houston State

Brewster can fly and his 6.46 sixty would stand out at any Perfect Game showcase. The 5-10/160 left handed hitter has some strength to gain but is a polished hitter with a high contact, well timed swing that should help him maximize his impact speed.

Austin Munguia  C - 2021 - Austin, TX
Navarro College

Munguia has that strong 5-10/195 build that you want to see in a catcher but retains good quickness and athleticism behind the plate receiving, plus a strong arm. He really showed his right handed power well, including a home run down the left field line where he stayed back on an off speed pitch well.

Cooper Hrbacek  RHP - 2021 - Abilene, TX
McLennan CC

Hrbacek is a very projectable 6-0/160 right hander with a very loose and projectable arm. He was up to 86 mph with good life on his fastball and has a very strong chance to throw significantly harder once he starts to get stronger and more physically mature. His change up was a very advanced pitch for a 2021.

Austin Hunter  LHP - 2021 - Houston, TX
Baylor

Hunter is a big and strong 6-2/205 athlete with two-way potential. A primary pitcher, Hunter was 81-85 mph on the mound with nice feel for a big breaking curveball. He showed big power at the plate as well, with very good lower half use and a strong attacking power swing.

Kyle Roosa  RHP - 2021 - Missouri City, TX
Trinity University (Texas)

Roosa has solid middle infield tools with a second base profile but he may have a higher ceiling on the mound. He worked 84-86 mph consistently two innings with very good feel for a big breaking 11/5 curveball and had a very quick and efficient two inning outing.

Chance Reisdorph  C - 2021 - New Braunfels, TX
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

Reisdorph played well on both offense and defense and projects well in both areas as well, with a loose 6-0/170 build. He has a strong right handed swing approach and really barreled the ball up well to all fields.

Mason Langdon  LHP - 2021 - Shreveport, LA
Northwestern State

Langdon has a polished approach on the mound and nice command of two solid pitches in an 83 mph fastball and low 70's curveball. He struck out 10 hitters in 4 innings and was in complete control of the game. The 6-0/185 southpaw is also a 6.88 runner.

2022 Top Prospects

Brooks Gay  RHP - 2022 - Abilene, TX
Abilene Christian

Gay has a very young 6-3/165 build and a loose and whippy arm from a low 3/4's arm slot. He worked up to 87 mph on his fastball, outstanding velocity for that slot at Gay's age and size, and showed good spin on a big sweeping curveball that could develop into a more powerful slider. There is lots of projection here still to come.

Tyler LeJeune  SS - 2022 - Iota, LA
Troy/Northwest Florida State College

LeJeune has a tightly wound and strong 5-9/170 build and very impressive bat speed for a young left handed hitter, along with a very aggressive hitting approach. He's also a 6.9 runner who graded out very high in the defensive drills.

Arrington Eason  OF - 2022 - The Woodlands, TX
Grambling State

What Eason lacks in size at 5-8/140 he more than makes up in quick twitch actions. His 7.1 sixty time does him no justice as he plays more like a 6.5 runner in games, with outstanding range in centerfield and impact speed on the bases. Eason's high contact right handed swing will ensure he's on base a lot, too.

Luke Hill  SS - 2022 - Port Allen, LA
Mississippi

Hill has a nice combination of defensive athleticism, arm strength and hitting ability in a young player and projects to be able to stay in the middle infield. His offensive potential especially stood out, as he has plenty of strength to add and already has a very well timed strong line drive swing.

Caden Roeschen  OF - 2022 - Wylie, TX
Uncommitted

Roeschen's present tools is his left handed bat. The 5-9/165 athlete creates impressive bat speed for his size and age and has outstanding hitting mechanics with explosive hands. He stung the ball hard in both BP and in games and looks like a natural hitter.

Azais Garza  OF - 2022 - Conroe, TX
Uncommitted

Garza is another undersized player at 5-7/157 whose speed and twitchiness make an impact on the field. His 6.6 speed stood out best in the outfield, where he gets plus jumps on balls and he made several nice catches in the outfield in games. He also showed surprising pop in his right handed bat, driving one ball cleanly over the centerfielder's head.

Dante Cano  LHP - 2022 - Abilene, TX
University of Texas at Arlington

Cano looks the part of the left handed pitching prospect at 6-4/180 and has a loose whippy arm from an extended 3/4's arm slot that worked up to 87 mph on his fastball. He has plenty of work to do with his mechanics and secondary pitches but the base talent is definitely there.

2023 Top Prospects

Jett Johnston  3B - 2023 - Farragut, TN
Texas A&M

Johnston has a strong 6-1/178 build for a 2023 and a nice collection of tools and athleticism. He's a switch hitter with much better present skills from the right side and has very good defensive tools at third base. He was up to 84 mph on the mound and has a chance to be a two-way prospect as well.

Andy Neal  C - 2023 - Grapevine, TX
Army

The 5-9/195 Neal is exceptionally strong for a 2023 and it really shows in his right handed bat speed and power approach. Where he ends up defensively is a question for long down the road but the bat has big potential.
