2020 Top Prospects
Nick Salas
SS - 2020 - Bakersfield, CA
Cal State Bakersfield
Salas with the top defensive player at the showcase, with plenty of athleticism and arm strength and polished actions through the ball. He's also a 6.99 runner who had some strength in his right handed swing.
Bryant Gadison
OF - 2020 - West Covina, CA
Uncommitted
Gadison has a very projectable 6-2/165 build and lots of natural athleticism. He ran the sixty in an event best 6.63 and showed very nice bat speed and barrel whip from the right side.
Zachary Enos
C - 2020 - Sacramento, CA
Sacramento State
Enos was the top catcher at the showcase, with a nice combination of present strength and offensive and defensive skills. His right handed swing was loose and fluid and he hit the ball hard consistently in the games.
Trevor Leon
SS - 2020 - Redwood City, CA
Concordia University (Oregon)
Leon is a very projectable 6-2/165 athlete with lots of solid present tools that will keep improving. He was impressive on defense and especially with his arm strength and carry on long throws. His right handed swing was loose and fast and he hit some hard line drives.
Logan Azem
OF - 2020 - San Mateo, CA
Uncommitted
Azem is a powerfully built 5-10/180 left handed hitter with the bat speed to make very hard contact and drive the ball, especially to the pull side. He's also a 6.93 runner who plays at full speed all the times and is very aggressive on the bases.
Nick Skardoutos
C - 2020 - Hollister, CA
La Verne
Skardoutos was very solid defensively both in drills and in the games, especially when it came to his energy behind the plate and his ability to block balls. He has a long and loose body that will get stronger and some right handed bat speed.
Dylan Charles
RHP - 2020 - El Dorado Hills, CA
Uncommitted
Charles was up to 84 mph with his fastball and held his velocity very well through four innings, although his biggest weapon was the consistent outstanding life he had on his fastball. More consistency from his big sweeping curveball will be key for his future development.
2021 Top Prospects
Tyler McCuistion
SS - 2021 - Tomball, TX
Baylor
McCuistion is a quick twitch athlete who already has a commitment to Long Beach State and a potential two-way prospect with plenty of positional versatility as a defensive player. He ran a 6.72 sixty and his speed played up on the bases, while he was also 85-88 mph off the mound with a tight curveball.
Jamir Gibson
SS - 2021 - San Leandro, CA
Grambling State
Gibson is a young live bodied switch-hitter who actually hit right on right during games. His right handed bat speed really stood out and he hit some of the hardest balls of the event, including a line drive right at the second baseman that was absolutely scalded.
Elliot Lee
2B - 2021 - Dublin, CA
Uncommitted
Lee was a ball of energy on the field, making plays all over the infield and showing a very aggressive right handed swing with lots more bat speed and pop than one would expect from his wiry 5-9/145 frame.
Josh Quinn
SS - 2021 - Sunnyvale, CA
California Lutheran University
Quinn needs to add plenty of strength in the next few years to his narrow 6-1/140 frame but he plays the game with energy and skill that surpasses his current tools and strength. It will be interesting to see him develop over the next few years.
2022 Top Prospects
Jaron Nevarez
OF - 2022 - San Ramon, CA
San Diego State
Nevarez is a very nice two-way prospect who projects well physically. The left hander was up to 83 mph on the mound with a full array of secondary pitches, including a sharp curveball, and showed big power at the plate, with a towering BP home run and a blast to the left centerfield fence in the games.
William Wentworth
LHP - 2022 - Livermore, CA
Uncommitted
Wentworth was on the top prospect list at last year's NorCal Showcase and he's added strength and 7 miles on his fastball since then, plus adding significant bat speed as well. The 6-3/180 southpaw topped out at 83 mph with command and tight spin on his breaking ball.
Jonas Salk
SS - 2022 - Fairfax, CA
Portland
Salk has some present strength for a 2022 middle infielder and it shows in his crisp line drive swing with some gap pop. He played very well at shortstop and made several nice plays on the move that required high level athletic body control.
