Purple vs. Green Highlights

Trevor Schmidt (2022 OF, Anaheim Hills, CA) laced two hits on the day and showed a smooth, projectable lefthanded swing. With a triple and a single in the game, Schmidt was putting bat to ball very effectively. 

Jalen Seward (2022 3B, Albuquerque, NM) had an all-around solid performance with two hits on the day including a hard hit triple early followed by a run-scoring single to the pull side. Seward shows natural leverage to the swing path and plays a solid infield with clean transfers and made a good backhand play at third. 

Michael Masunas (2022 LHP, Tucson, AZ) has a smooth line drive swing plane in the box and it showed with a loud double down the pull side line. Masunas turned well over the inside to handle a fastball and showed strong wrists to keep it fair. 

Jacob Galloway (2022 C, Camarillo, CA) had another game with multiple hard hit balls with a line drive single up the middle. He takes very mature at-bats with good barrel skills and is an asset behind the dish with a strong arm. 

Corbin Ybarra (2022 OF, Clovis, CA) showed good plate coverage with a line drive triple to the opposite field. Ybarra hustled around the base paths for the three-bagger and also showed good arm strength with his fastball up to 78 mph with downhill plane on the bump. 

Gray vs. Orange

Owen Gott (2022 C, Lakewood, CA) continued his hitting ways with a double over the left fielder's head in the first inning. Gott gets the barrel head out in front well and really feasts on pitches over the inner half. 

Mason Neville (2022 OF, Las Vegas, NV) was very impressive on the mound with present arm speed and projectability. The path was clean through release with a fastball 80-82 with arm side run. Neville flashed a sinking changeup and a power 1/7 curveball for strikes; he also roped an RBI double down the right field line. 

Anthony Warden (2023 1B, Upland, CA) showed a very polished and repeatable delivery for a young prospect. Warden worked up to 71 mph with lots of strikes and repeatability while also mixing in a sinking CH as a weapon against righthanded hitters. 

Ivan Rodriguez (2023 RHP, San Bernardino, CA) is another clean and projectably young righthander who pounded the strike zone with a very balanced delivery. Rodriguez worked up to 70 mph and mixed in a hard breaking ball with 12/6 shape and tilt. 

Noah Rodriguez (2022 SS, Whittier, CA) collected a hard hit single during the game and showed off an impressive collection of tools. He is a good athlete and ran a 4.61 second time to first while also showing a very quick release behind the plate on a steal attempt. 

Wehiwa Aloy (2022 2B, Wailuku, HI) is a pretty smooth defender with soft hands and made a couple of impressive plays during the game. He also collected an RBI single late in the game with a single to the pull side down the line. 

George Cordero (2022 RHP, Redlands, CA) worked up to 78 mph on the mound and flashed some arm side run on the pitch. The curveball was the selling point to the repertoire with tons of swing and miss with sharp 12/6 biting action downward. 

Cardinal vs Purple

Dylan Lina (2022 SS, Carson, CA) worked an inning on the mound, showed good arm speed as well as life on the fastball. He worked in the 77-82mph range with his fastball and with a 3 pitch mix attacking hitters. He had 2 strikeouts in his inning of work today. 

Kassius Thomas (2022 RHP, Cerritos, CA) worked 3 innings on the mound today, working his fastball in the range of 76-80mph and also spinning a good breaker with depth and command at 67mph. He flashed some good potential for the position and looked in control while he was pitching.

Aidan Young (2022 1B, Albuquerque, NM) had a double in the game today that one hopped the fence in the LCF gap. He was also the showcase leader in exit velocity at 89mph, he shows good power and lift in his swing and the ability to find the barrel consistently.

Trevor Schmidt (2022 OF, Anaheim Hills, CA) worked 2 innings on the mound in the game only allowing 1 hit and striking out 3 batters. He worked his fastball up to 77mph and had feel for a breaking ball at 64mph. Schmidt also had a hit in the game as well to follow up his nice performance on the mound. 


Gray vs Cardinal

Karson Bowen (2022 C, Anaheim Hills, CA)stood out both at the plate and at the plate in today's game. Karson smashed a ball in the left center field gap for a inside the park home-run, bringing in 4 RBIs in his 2 at bats. Showed very good barrel feel and loud contact at the plate, and good speed around the bases. On the mound he worked his fastball in the range of 78-81mph and curveball at 68mph. 

Louis Rodriguez (2022 RHP, Long Beach, CA) tossed 3 innings in todays game, working his fastball in the range of 75-79mph and curveball at 69mph. 

Bryan  Martinez (2022 1B, Menifee, CA) showed nice loud contact in the game today, even got robbed of a base hit up the middle by a nice play by the SS. He got down line line nicely and even showed off his speed by stealing a base.  

Tyler Daley (2023 LHP, Bradbury, CA) got on base twice in today's game, really finding his barrel. Daley swiped a bag and moved well on the base paths. High energy player and plays the game hard.

Columbia vs. Orange Highlights

Mason Neville (2022 OF, Las Vegas, NV) showed a smooth lefthanded stroke from a very projectable swing path and body. Neville sat back on a breaking ball well to hit it hard up the middle for a single. 

Nick Arias (2022 2B, Tucson, AZ) again showed off stellar defense at shortstop with good fluidity and smoothness to his hands and exchnge. He made a number of difficult plays look routine thanks to his feel for the position. 

Logan Brown (2022 RHP, Tucson, AZ) made a very nice play in left field as he rounded a ground ball and fired toward second base to nail a runner trying to advance. The arm strength was highlighted here and Brown also handles the barrel well in the batter's box. 

Caleb Herd (2022 C, Vail, AZ) displayed strong wrists and the ability to get the barrel head out in front as he took a fastball over the inner half down the pull side line for a triple. Herd jumped all over a fastball and showed a clean swing plane in the process. 

Ruben Villaescusa (2022 3B, Tucson, AZ) collected a hard hit single with good strength and physicality in the batter's box and also pitched. He showed present arm strength up to 77 mph on the bump and is a solid presence in the batter's box. 

Davin Lewis (2022 RHP, Wailuku, HI) let the arm fly as he nailed a runner trying to tag up and advance. He reads fly balls well for strong defense in center and delivered a one-hop strike to the plate to beat the runner by a couple of feet. 

Columbia vs. Green Highlights

4/8/2018

Corbin Ybarra (2022 OF, Clovis, CA) showed off his barrel skills by keeping his hands inside nicely to hook a fastball down the pull side for a triple. Ybarra showed off the impressive bat speed and barrel control to keep the line drive fair. He also just missed another hard hit ball later in the game. 

Kaedon Diego Mas (2022 RHP, Rancho Cucamonga, CA) worked two singles to the pull side during the morning game. Mas has a contact-oriented approach with a shorter, controlled swing path and has a good feel for hitting. 

Jordan Kang (2022 3B, Porter Ranch, CA) was again impressive with a hard hit single that resulted in two stolen bases. Kang is very athletic and made outstanding reads off the pitcher to swipe the bags standing up; he has showed good present bat speed all event. 

Nick Arias (2022 2B, Tucson, AZ) had a single during the game and showed off impressive defensive chops. Arias shows smooth actions and exchanges with fluidity and body control to make accurate throws while on the run 

Peyton Von Kaenel (2022 RHP, Calimesa, CA) pounded the strike zone and projects well from a 6-foot-5 frame. He creates good sink and plane on his fastball to both sides and showed advanced pitchability and feel for sequencing with his tight breaking ball on the mound. 

David Horn (2022 3B, Murrieta, CA) showed very intriguing potential on the mound with lots of downhill plane on his fastball that worked 77-80 mph. He leveraged well in the lower third of the strike zone and flashed a breaking ball with short, tight shape. 

Cardinal vs. Green Highlights

Lucas Herman (2022 C, Malibu, CA) showed a lot of tenacity and fight at the plate, as he battled a double-dight AB to drive a hard hit double to the pull side gap. Herman showed good instincts on the base paths too as he was able to advance to both third and home on a wild pitch thanks to some heads up baserunning. 

Tyler Daley (2023 LHP, Bradbury, CA) is a younger player at the event but was able to work his fastball up to 77 mph. Daley showed balance and a clean arm stroke through the back with looseness and featured a sharp 12/6 breaking ball that showed swing and miss potential. 

Dominic Hellman (2022 SS, Mill Creek, WA) has a lot of projectable tools for a secondary pitcher. He showed a longer arm action with a fastball up to 79 that flashed running life; he threw three pitches including a sinking changeup. 

Jordan Kang (2022 3B, Porter Ranch, CA) was dynamic on the mound, working with a power fastball to 83 and a sharp, tilting breaking ball. Kang has an athletic delivery with a clean, fluid arm stroke and the athleticism and stuff shines on the mound. 

14u West BP Highlights

Dylan Lina (2022 SS, Carson, CA) showed a high hand set and high back elbow with present bat speed and loft to the swing plane. Lina extends out well in front of the plate and showed a lot of carry and power potential on deep fly balls. 

Karson Bowen (2022 C, Anaheim Hills, CA) has a lot of strength and physicality through the point of contact. The ball jumps well off the barrel of the bat with real power potential and good balance and bat speed throughout. 

Louis Rodriguez (2022 RHP, Long Beach, CA) took a very consistent and loud round with lots of extension and wiry strength to the pull side. Rodriguez turns the barrel over well to lift the ball and projects for big power as he continues to fill out. 

Dominic Hellman (2022 SS, Mill Creek, WA) has a loose, easy trigger into the swing with intent and impact strength. The ball jumps off the barrel with pop to all fields and Hellman should only continue to get stronger as he fills out and develops. 

Nick Arias (2022 2B, Tucson, AZ) starts from a spread open stance and shows present looseness to the wrists and swings with intent. Arias torques through his lower half well and shows off present gap-to-gap pop with projectable offensive tools. 

Justin Roulston (2022 OF, Los Angeles, CA) has lots of bat speed and strength through his righthanded swing and creates natural leverage to pull with his long arms through extension. He worked both sides with line drives and has the raw tools to succeed. 

Dylan Beckerman (2022 RHP, Los Angeles, CA) has an upper-half dominated swing with lots of strength. Beckerman features a short, compact stroke with quick wrists and turns to pull the ball well with loud power to the pull side. 

Jacob Galloway (2022 C, Camarillo, CA) utilizes a high leg lift trigger at the plate and employs a simple bat-to-ball approach which he does a nice job of executing and repeating. Staying linear through the zone, Galloway worked line drive contact to the middle of the field and proceeded to swing it well in game.

 

Mikey Romero (2022 SS, Menifee, CA) is an interesting lefthanded bat to follow moving forward as he sports a loose lefthanded stroke to the point of contact. There’s looseness to his hands and found the barrel while working all fields with line drive contact when squared.  

 

Trevor Schmidt (2022 OF, Anaheim Hills, CA) showed a full path through the zone from the left side of the plate and did a nice job of creating contact out front. He shows lift to his path and the makings of nice bat speed with his best contact coming to the pull side.

Ryan Ward (2022 3B, Coronado, CA) creates nice torque with his lower half moving into his swing and did a nice job of staying short to the ball. He worked all parts of the field with line drive contact coming off the barrel with nice carry when squared.

Jalen Seward (2022 3B, Albuquerque, NM) showed interesting tools at the plate and projects moving forward with continued refined. Staying short to the ball and direct with his path, Seward was able to create leverage to his path and back spun some line drive contact when squared.

 

Noah Rodriguez (2022 SS, Whittier, CA) showed nice tools on both sides of the ball throughout the day, including in his batting practice session. Remaining on time with his higher leg lift, Rodriguez remained short to the ball and did a nice job of hitting it out front with line drive contact to all parts of the field.

 

Mason Neville (2022 OF, Las Vegas, NV) is a long and projectable lefthanded bat who shows the making of a power stick down the road. Staying rather direct, the Nevada native was able to create nice separation in his swing with lift out front and nice carry to his pull side.

 

Jordan Kang (2022 3B, Porter Ranch, CA) continued to impress today with his round of batting practice, taking one of the loudest rounds of the day. With a consistent swing, Kang stayed short to the ball with consistent line drive contact and hard jump off the barrel when out front.

 

Junior. (James) Taylor III (2022 OF, Alpine, CA) put together an intriguing round and shows tools which project moving forward as he continues to develop his mechanics. With some moving parts getting into his swing, Taylor showed nice carry off the barrel when squared with interesting jump to the pull side.



Orange vs Purple

Jacob Galloway (2022 C, Camarillo, CA) had a walk and went 1-2 in today's game. showed discipline on keeping his weight back and ability to drive the ball to the opposite field. He had a line drive double with the ability to get around the bases nicely. Very athletic player with upside to his game. 

Mikey Romero (2022 SS, Menifee, CA) went 1-2 in today's game with a loud triple that scored a run. Romero has a very fluid and smooth swing with lift and lots of barrel feel. He also made a nice few defensive plays in the game and really showed his athletic ability. Romero has a high baseball IQ and very fluid actions while playing the game. 

Davin Lewis (2022 RHP, Wailuku, HI) worked 3 innings of work today on the mound running his fastball up to 79mph. Lewis has a 3/4 arm slot and created some SNK on his fastball. Good frame and build and really looks the part with upside. 

Hayden Lewis (2022 RHP, Scottsdale, AZ) worked 3 innings today and ran his fastball up to 76mph. He worked with a longer arm action, 3/4 arm slot, staying online and balanced. Lewis curveball worked at 64mph with good shape and depth. 

Eddie Mgdesyan (2022 3B, Encino, CA) pitched 2 innings today and worked his fastball in the range of 74-77mph. Showed good curveball potential and command on the mound, his curveball worked at 67mph.  

Columbia Blue vs Orange

Noah Rodriguez (2022 SS, Whittier, CA) went 2-2 in the game today smacking a single and a double. Noah showed a solid swing plane line drive ability connecting with the barrel. 

Nick Arias (2022 2B, Tucson, AZ) worked 2 innings on the mound pumping his fastball 77-80mph. Arias showed a quick live arm with steady life on his fastball. He created good downhill plane and tilt. His curveball worked at 65mph with depth and command. 

Garrett Ferguson (2022 RHP, Lone Jack, MO) had a 3 inning stint today working his fastball in the range of 74-77mph. Garrett showed good rhythm in his delivery and the ability to miss bats with his fastball. Showed some good ability and depth with his curveball worked it at 71mph. 

Kevin Sanchez (2022 3B, Las Vegas, NV) plated 2 RBIs on his single off the base. Good frame and build with some bat speed and line drive plane. 

Green vs Grey

4/7/2018

Kevin Ramirez (2022 OF, Maywood, CA) had a single in the game while also stealing a pair of bags. Showed off his running ability and tools, with good quick first step. Ramirez showed good barrel feel and skills in game and a quick bat. 

Antonio Carter (2022 OF, Hayward, CA) showed a patient approach at the plate and good strike zone IQ. Carter flashes some upside in his ability to play the game. Mostly worked to the opposite field during his at bats and also swiped a bag during the game. 

Jackson Hisey (2023 OF, Arcadia, CA) worked 2 innings in the game today, while striking out 3 batters. He worked his 3 pitch mix well and kept hitters off balance and guessing at the plate. His curveball worked tight and showed depth to it. His fastball worked in the range of 72-76mph, while CB and CH worked at 66mph. 

Kevin Pena (2022 RHP, Gardena, CA) worked 3 innings in his outing today, striking out 6 hitters in the stint. He showed a quick live arm with the ability to battle back to get hitters out. Pena showed a good 2 pitch mix with a 3rd pitch developing, his curveball worked at 61mph. 

Justin Walker (2022 SS, Hercules, CA) had a great eye and feel for the strike zone. Walker had a quiet and simple approach and laced a RBI single in the game, barrel skills with some pop. 

Cardinal vs Columbia Blue

Logan Brown (2022 RHP, Tucson, AZ) worked 3 innings in the game today. His FB worked 70-76mph with some arm-side run and 3/4 arm slot. He attacked hitters and strike zone with his FB to get ahead early in the count. Logan also went 1-2 in the game with a RBI single, flashing some barrel skills with some pop. 

Omar Monreal (2022 3B, Tucson, AZ) had 2 hits in the ball game today with 2 RBIs. Showed his ability to let the ball get deep and drive the ball the to the opposite field. Showed some bat speed and barrel skills.

Dean West (2023 OF, Woodland Hills, CA) is a very athletic kid who had an RBI single in the game. He has shown his true tools in game as well as in the workouts this morning. Good bat speed and quick twitch ability. 

Dylan Lina (2022 SS, Carson, CA) showed his barrel skills in game today by smoking a double. His ability to make good turns around the bases showed his athletic ability. Lina had lift and leverage in his swing with the ability to drive the baseball.

Purple vs Grey

4/7/2018

Owen Gott (2022 C, Lakewood, CA) went 2-2 at the plate with two doubles on the day. Gott showed quick hands and the ability to get the barrel on the ball. Showed ability to hit with power to the gaps, he was also hit by two pitches as well. 

Jacob Galloway (2022 C, Camarillo, CA) had one hit in the game today for a triple. Justin showed his ability to barrel the ball up and get around the bases. Line drive plane with good extension at the plate, good barrel skills with some pop. 

Dylan Beckerman (2022 RHP, Los Angeles, CA) went 3 innings on the mound today, showing good SNK action on his Fastball. He worked on the lower half of the zone in his outing. Beckerman flashes some tilt on his Breaking ball, with good depth to it. He had 2 strikeouts while only giving up 1 hit in his outing. He was working 73-76mph with his Fastball today. 

Henry Mitchell (2022 SS, Albuquerque, NM) stood out in the game today by flashing some great defensive plays. Mitchell showed his great athletic ability and his range in the field.
