Game Two 3-Gray vs. 4-Orange Highlights

10/29/2023

Tanner Sultan (2028, Tucson, AZ) got the start for Team Orange and threw two shutout innings where he struck out three. He ran the FB up to 76 and mixed in a larger developing breaking ball in the upper 50s. Sultan also found a loud barrel into the right center gap that scored two runs.

Alecsander Worosylla (2928, Queen Creek, AZ) was the other impressive arm today for Team Orange striking out the side twice in his two shutout innings locating his mid 70s fastball efficiently and inducing some whiff with it as well. Mixed in a sparingly used mid 60s breaking ball.

Tucker Harden (2028, Queen Creek, AZ) was an impressive arm for Team Grey throwing two shutout innings of his own where he struck out four. Showed an athletic/repeatable operation where he ran his fastball up to 73.

Josh Teal (2028, Las Vegas, NV) relieved Harden and threw two shutout innings of his own. The physical left-hander ran the fastball up to 79 mixing in both a changeup and slider. Harden also collected two hits at the plate, his loudest being a pullside line drive into right showing he can really whip the barrel through.

James Gagas (2029, El Paso, TX) collected two hits for Team-Orange. His first was a line drive over the SS’s head. His second was on a well executed hit-and-run where he punched it through the right side for a single.

Angel Sanchez Jr (2029, Litchfield Park, AZ) collected two more hits today after a two hit performance last night. There wasn’t any loud barrels but he showed his bat-to-ball ability and let the ball find holes.

Ezra Orona (2029, Las Cruces, NM) was another player for Team Gray that collected two hits on the day, both infield singles, one to the third baseman and the other to the second baseman showing a simple RH stroke.

Braylon Roberts (2029, Angelton, TX) was the last player for Team Gray that had a two hit day. His first was on a double he drove down the left field line. His second was a liner he set back up the box. Roberts turns the barrel well for someone his size with some good length through the zone.

Cayden Mitchell (2028, Phoenix, AZ) had the loudest hit for Team Gray barreling one over the CF’s head for a standup triple flashing some quality strength/power for a ’28 grad.

Russell Nelson (2029, Gilbert, AZ) had an inside-the-park HR yesterday and added a triple today when he lined a fastball into the left-center gap showing some easy juice within a simple RH swing.

Keone Ede (2028, Scottsdale, AZ) had one of the louder barrels of the day catching a fastball out front and lining it sharply through the third baseman for a single.

Quintin Maravilla (2029, Clovis, CA) and Emiliano Victoria (2029, Chandler, AZ) both had quality hits back up the box for Team Orange. Both showed right handed swings with minimal waisted movement with Victoria throwing a more direct barrel and Maravilla a flatter one.

Isaak Dudley (2028, Payson, AZ) and Bo Raines (2029, Scottsdale, AZ) both had nice opposite field hits for Team Gray. Both showed the ability to let the ball get deep and still be able to drive it the other way.

Leighton Matney (2028, Edina, MN) after a quality performance on the mound yesterday had a quality line drive single today punching a fastball into right field.

3-Gray vs. 4-Orange Game Highlights

10/28/2023

Leighton Matney (2028, Edina, MN) got the start for Team Orange and pitched three shutout innings where he struck out seven. Showed a low 70s fastball that exhibited some natural run/sink that paired well with a sweeping slider in the mid 60s that produced some chase/whiff against right handed hitters.

Sebastian Castelo (2028, Sahuarita, AZ) relieved Matney and pitched three shutout innings of his own, giving up two hits and striking out two. He ran his fastball up to 75 that induced plenty of late swings and flashed a low 60s breaker.

Cayden Mitchell (2028, Phoenix, AZ) was one of the better performing arms for Team Gray throwing three quality innings where he gave up one run and struck out seven. He also ran his fastball up to 75 and his upper 60s curveball showed quality shape.

Russell Nelson (2029, Gilbert, AZ) relieved Mitchell and threw three shutout innings where he struck out five. Showed some advanced stuff for a ’29 grad, running it up to 80 mph while mixing in a depthy/fading changeup and shorter/tight slider. Nelson also found two barrels at the plate which included a pullside double where he turns a quick barrel on a slight uphill path.

Ismael Botello (2029, Avondale, AZ) got the game started for Team-Orange with a bloop single into left. Botello eventually stole 2B, advanced to third, and scored on a wild pitch.

Hunter Heaton (2029, Huntsville, TX) collected a hard RBI knock back up the box during. It's a smaller frame but there's some sneaky quick hands that help get the barrel through.

Jaxen Anderson (2027, Chandler, AZ) had one of the louder barrels of the game where he sat back on a hanging breaking ball and drove it sharply into left for an RBI single. Jaxen has a physical presence in the box where his strong hands help supply some present bat speed.

Lucas Tuschi (2028, Cave Creek, AZ) barreled one deep over the RF’s head for an inside the park HR. He also drove one deep into CF for a flyout. There’s present quickness to the hands where he gets extended noticeably well.

Angel Sanchez Jr. (2029, Litchfield Park, AZ) was one of the few players to collect two hits. Both were opposite field hits that he was late on but still found enough barrel to find some grass.

EJ Lord (2028, Scottsdale, AZ) was the other player that has two hits, his best being a line drive single he drove through the second baseman.

Tucker Harden (2028, Queen Creek AZ) had a loud barrel in the last inning of the game driving a high fastball over the RF’s head for a standup double showing some above avg. bat/hand speed for his level.

Josh Teal ('28, Las Vegas, NV) showed the ability to hammer balls to the pullside gap when in-sync. A physical frame plays well in the box, looking to drive balls with the backside often.

Christopher Galaz ('29, Las Cruces, NM) stayed through the big part of the field throughout his round. A simple swing stays balanced and showed some extension out front.
