Teal was the most physical ‘28 of the group. The 6-foot-1, 190 pound OF ran a 7.33 60-yd dash and showed athletic actions working with an aggressive approach through the ball with a strong and accurate arm that translated to the mound. At the plate, that same physicality and strength translated to a whippy left-handed stroke that produced multiple line drives up the box in batting practice and a loud pullside barrel during gameplay, On the mound, he was dominant for two shutout innings where his quick arm ran his fastball up to 79 mph that beat a ton of bats for whiffs while mixing in a quality changeup and slider.
Sultan exhibited solid skill out on defense, put solid swings together throughout BP/gameplay, and also performed well on the mound. Defensively, he worked out in the INF and OF and showed athletic actions in how he moves through the baseball while working to a quick release with a shorter arm action that got off accurate throws at both spots. At the plate, he turns the barrel with some quickness and accuracy which produced several line drives into both gaps during BP. Swing translated in-game with a loud barrel into the right-center gap. On the mound, he threw two shutout innings where he struck out three. Displayed a low-effort and repeatable operation with a loose arm that ran his fastball up to 76 with a developing mid-upper 50s breaking ball.
Harden was another two-way standout that showed well throughout the weekend. Defensively, he has aggressive and athletic footwork at SS with a quick arm that got off accurate throws across up to 74 mph which was an event best. Then in BP, he had one of the more impressive rounds of the day lining several balls back up the middle of the field. He gives off hitterish vibes in the box where he has active/quick hands that can really get the barrel through with some good length and strength at impact. Showed that impact with a loud double over the RF’s head in-game. He also totaled two shutout innings on the mound where he has a clean/athletic operation where he worked fast and pounded his low 70s fastball in-zone at a high rate while also showing some feel for spin, landing his upper 50s breaker for strikes.
Mitchell stood out on the mound in Game 1 and at the plate in Game 2. He threw three quality innings and struck out seven where he induced several whiffs throughout the outing. He has a compact delivery where he has a shorter arm action that works to release to an over the top slot. He ran the fastball up to 75 and mixed in a developing slurvy upper 60s breaker. Offensively, he caught one of the louder barrels of the two days when he crushed one over the CF’s head for a triple. He starts his load early and lands on-time where his quick hands consistently get the barrel out front with some sneaky strength at impact.
Matney was one of the top performing arms of the group where he struck out seven through three shutout innings. He showed a repeatable and balanced delivery where he ran his fastball up to 72 that had some natural running action and mixed in a low 60s breaker that had some sweeper-type shape to it. Matney also displayed quality defensive actions in the INF and a decent swing where he has some quick hands that throws the barrel on a flatter path through the zone. Ended up collecting a couple of in-game knocks as well.
Worosylla had a very impressive outing on the mound where he struck out the side twice in his two shutout innings. Showed a clean operation that ran his fastball up to an easy 75 mph that he controlled well and even produced some whiffs on. Mixed in a sparingly used developing breaking ball in the mid 50s. Worosylla also displayed quality actions at SS with some present glove skill/feel along with a balanced swing where he has some present inside-out ability with his hands.
Nelson was probably the best two-way performer of the group showing advanced skill at the plate and on the mound. To start, he ran an event best 7.32 60-yd dash and has clean OF defensive actions he pairs with a strong arm where he runs it up to 81 mph with accuracy. At the plate, he found multiple barrels and XBHs both in BP and in-game. He stays short and quick to the baseball while still being able to turn the barrel with some accuracy and length. Then there’s his pitching upside where he has a loose arm that works with some present armspeed to release. He ran his fastball up to 80 mph that had some natural running action and produced a ton of late whiff. His slider showed shorter/tight action to it and his changeup had a ton of fade.
Roberts is a smaller framed ‘29 but still showed quality skill out at SS and with the bat. Displayed quality/fundamental footwork where his feet work through the ball with soft hands and a clean funnel. Then at the plate, there’s some early rhythm to the swing that gets him on-time at landing. He is able to turn the barrel well through the zone that produced some decent LD barrels back up the box during BP and some in-game barrels as well where he drove one down the LF line for a double and lined one back up the box for a single.
