Nyk Bussard (2022 C, Bargersville, IN) found barrels consistently as he proved he could spray the baseball around with ease. Early in the contest, he singled to the pull-side as he got the bat head out front. He would later to go on to double to the right-center gap while flashing some speed on the base-paths. Showing to have nothing but upside at the plate.
Luke Ellis (2022 MIF, Casco Twp, MI) proved to have some talent both at the plate and defensively. The middle infielder flashed some range as he made plays going both ways while showcasing an accurate arm. At the plate, he utilized great hand-eye coordination as he went on to tally multiple hits. He took a fastball early in the count and drove it back up the middle. In a later at-bat, he sat back on a curveball to single up the middle.
Elijah Holt (2022 RHP, Commerce, MI) showed to be a true two way guy during todays action. On the mound, he flashed a low-80's fastball that he commanded well while showing more in the tank down the road. He also mixed in a curveball with tight spin that got swings & misses. He struck out 3 batters in his 2 inning outing. At the plate, Holt utilized a quick bat as he went on to tally up a couple of base-knocks. He singled to rightfield twice and proved he could create opportunities on the base-paths.
Nick Zappia (2021 3B, Farmington Hills, MI) created some of the louder contact of the game as he found barrels in every at-bat. He doubled to the left-center gap as he glided around the bags. Although that was his only hit of the game, in two other at-bats he barreled up baseballs right at people. He also played a solid thirdbase, making a nice slow roller play.
Cooper Johnson (2023 RHP, Southgate, MI) utilized a long, lean frame as the right-handed pitcher went right after hitters. Johnson gave up just one hit as he went on to dominate the rest of his outing. He was up to 81 MPH with the fastball and mixed in a curveball as his punch-out pitch. In just two innings pitched, he struck out 5 batters. He shows more velocity in the tank as it was free & easy out of hand.
William Shannon (2021 C, Bloomfield Hills, MI) had a physically strong appearance to him as he went on to generate loud contact. He knocked in two runs as he he doubled to the leftcenter gap. He showed big time pop in the bat when he got extended. He went on to steal a base and had great instincts on the base-paths as well.
Dominic Krupinski (2022 C, Livonia, MI) issued punishments to baseballs as he tallied two extra base-hits during todays contest. He had two standup doubles into the left-center gap. Looks to lift the baseball to the pull-side when possible and did so with success. The strong, physically framed catcher proved to have some skills behind the dish as well proving to be an asset to any ball club.
Bryson Huwar (2022 RHP, Fisher, PA) showcased a crafty approach on the mound as the right-handed pitcher delivered from a lower three-quarter slot. He flashed a fast arm with deception, proving it difficult to square him up. He kept his fastball down in the zone as he ran it up to 81 MPH. He tunneled his curveball well as he went on to strikeout 3 hitters while walking none.
