Cullen Scott (2028, Melissa, Texas) was as advertised in this look as he went 6 innings while striking out 8 batters. Throws 2 different fastballs and holds velo well throughout outing. 4-seam works 94-97 and topped out at 98 with carry up just jumps out of hand. 2-seam works 90-93 with good arm side run. Held velocity into the 6th. Slider 78-81 plays short with tilt and late bite getting upwards of 2400 RPM. Curve 76-79 with power depth that varies between shape 10-4 to 11-5. Change 82-83 rolls out of hand with fade and mimics arm speed. One of the highest upside arms in the class with elite arm talent. Good feel for off-speed and should continue to get better from highly athletic/physical 6-3/220 frame. Big 2028 name to watch and know.

Brooks Nelson (2026, McKinney, Texas) was absolutely dominant in this look going complete game shutout against a solid lineup and struck out 13 batters to go with it. Fastball worked 87-90 getting upwards of 2400 RPM with hard running life. Gets in quick on hitters and can locate wherever. Went to a curve at 76-80 with short 10-4 shape; good depth to it and can land at will. Curve got upwards of 10 swings and misses. Change also shown at 79. Athletic 6-1 frame that projects well and plenty more in the tank. Has been a consistent performer all Spring off the bump. Good grab for the Navarro commit.



Talon Pate (2028, McKinney, Texas) showed well in this look on both sides of the ball. Athletic mover on both sides. Actions on the dirt stand out, good arm strength and slot. Footwork shows in game. In the box, quality at-bats work with advanced approach for age. Battles at the plate against high end arm from short lefty swing with good bat speed. Bat to ball plays at a high level and should only continue to get better. Definitely a 2028 name to know and watch.

Brady Sommers (2027, Lucas, Texas) is an uncommitted lefty hitting infielder who fits the mold well. Doubled and singled in this look. Line to line hitter with solid bat to ball ability. Nice level swing that is adjustable and can cover the entire plate well. Also moves well on the dirt. Good athlete overall and no reason for him to be uncommitted. Can definitely play ball.

Lucas Smith (2027, McKinney, Texas) homered to deep left-center in this look. Can get to the ball up in zone and launch balls with authority. Strong pull-side power projects well for him. Good bat speed and impact off the barrel. Was solid behind the dish as well. Good hands with strong arm. Committed to Sam Houston State.

Reed Blakely (2027, Lucas, Texas) has one of the smoother lefty swings you will see and showed it when he went deep to right clearing the trees. Ball was an absolute no-doubter off the barrel. Short compact lefty swing that does serious damage out front. Big time bat speed and can really turn on the ball. Hips and barrel explode through zone. Strong hitter with power and looks the part on both sides of the ball. Ultra athletic 6-1 frame. Blakely is committed to USC.


Logan Corley (2026, Lucas, Texas) went 5 shutout frames while striking out 6 batters in this look. Lean and athletic 6-2 frame with ample projection remaining. Good rhythm to the delivery that is repeatable and gets downhill. Fastball works 86-90 topping out at 91 getting upwards of 2300 RPM; good arm side run overall. Fastball got 9 swings and misses. Change is the go to secondary at 80-83 kills spin and mimics arm speed; has shown really good feel for it in general. Curve 76-79 sharp slurvey shape and can land it. Slider 77-79 some sweep to it. Pitch-ability stands out, can locate and sequence and repeat arm slot with arm speed. Tunnels stuff well off each other and locates all 4 pitches to some degree. Currently committed to TCU and is one of the top lefty arms in Texas. 


Hunter Rose (2026, Texarkana, Arkansas) was as advertised in this look as he struck out 5 over 4.1 innings pitched. Fastball worked 89-92 topping out at 93 getting upwards of 2500 RPM with late life and located. Got 7 swings and misses off his fastball. It’s easy velo out of the hand with low effort, looks easy given high end arm talent. Change 73-76 kills spin with heavy diving fade and curve at 76-78 with late break with depth and showed flashes of being an absolute hammer. Slider was 77-79 with late bite and sharpness; newer pitch for him so should continue to get better with more polish. Uber athletic mover down the slope, will mix up his delivery and make it tough on hitters for timing. Creates tough angles overall and really knows how to pitch. Also collected 4 hits on the day including a double banged off the wall. Strong 2-way potential here as the bat also plays at an extremely high level as well as the overall athletic ability on both sides. Rose is currently committed to Arkansas. 

Spencer Browning (2025, Texarkana, Texas) had a monster night in this look going 3-3 with 5 runs batted in that included a home run he banged off the foul pole on a line. Athletic 6-1 frame with some serious strength off the barrel. Strong power potential to all fields and can really impact the baseball. High end athlete moves well on the dirt and looks the part out at short. Should stick there at the next level as he is committed to Arkansas.

Jace Elrod (2026, Texarkana, Texas) is an athletic outfielder who can really move and cover ground out there. Glides to the ball in center, gets good reads and jumps on the ball. Can close on the ball in the gaps and track. Has a strong arm and it showed in game. In the box, has a short lefty swing that adjusts well to the ball with some loft. Bat speed and bat to ball ability present. Can go line to line with authority. No reason for Elrod to be uncommitted as he can certainly play ball.

Deacon Carpenter (2028, Sulphur Springs, Texas) nearly left the yard in this look off one of the better lefty arms in the state as he turned around 92 off the wall to open up. Smooth lefty swing that stays connected into contact with a ton of lift in the swing. Good rhythm overall and exemplified real hitterish traits. Bat explodes through the zone and can really launch the ball. Projectable build at 5-11 and should continue to fill out with added strength. Carpenter is just scratching the surface with what it could be and is oozing with potential on both sides of the ball. High end athlete and can really hit. Has tools and checks a lot of boxes. Should be heavily recruited and scouted this coming Summer and will be busy come August.


Jake Jenkins (2027, Mansfield, Texas) didn’t get the result he wanted in this look but showed a ton of intrigue overall. In a win or go home game, Jenkins toed the rubber and dominated for the most part against a loaded lineup. Has that bull-dog mentality and will pitch until his arm falls off. Absolutely love his demeanor and ability to compete. Pretty physical 6-3 frame at 210 pounds. Good rhythm to the delivery and repeatable motions from extremely low slot with big crossfire delivery. Fastball opened up 88-90 topping out at 92 multiple times and getting upwards of 2300 RPM with late life. He settled more so into the 86-90 range and averaged out at 88. Fastball produced 9 swings and misses. The ball really jumps out of his hand and velo tends to play up as it can be a highly uncomfortable at-bat in general. Slider 75-78 with late bite sweeper traits. Curve shown as well 73-75 with bigger shape. Change 76-80 and kills spin. Jenkins is committed to Arkansas. 

Sebastian Castillo (2027, Justin, Texas) has long been known as one of the top players in his class and showed why in this look. High end athlete who will stick at short, has the range, arm, footwork and just looks the part out there. Made a number of eye opening plays throughout the night with makings of a plus arm when it’s all said and done. Has the lateral range to cover ground on the dirt and get to balls you would think he has no chance at. In the box, Castillo swings with intent and the sound and impact off his barrel is just different. He can impact it like anyone to all fields and the bat to ball ability is impressive. He simply put, does not get cheated in the box and always seems to be on it no matter the count. It’s controlled aggression that plays time after time. Castillo is currently committed to LSU.

Kenson Buth (2027, Trophy Club, Texas) showed well in this look collecting a base-hit up the middle and was on the barrel. Gap to gap ability from shorter lefty swing that is adjustable. Worked strong at-bats and battles at the plate with a disciplined approach. Willing to take the walk and lay off borderline pitches, will battle at the plate and foul off tough pitches. Made a strong adjustment on his base-hit against a good lefty arm adjusting well to spin from tough slot. Gets into lower half well and ball jumps off his barrel. Hitters hits and that’s just what he does. Buth is committed to Baylor.

Ross Sullivan (2026, Cypress Woods) has been impressive on both ends. Has several multi hit games out of the leadoff spot and has been as stable of a #1 starter there is, helping lead the Wildcats to a district title. The Angelina commit has been doing all the little things right. Fills up the zone on the mound, living in the mid 80s and working good at bats as a table setter for the rest of a really strong order.

Everett Huffman (2027, Magnolia West) continues to impress this spring, taking his success from the summer circuit and making it translate at the high school level. Went six innings against Klein Oak, carrying a no hitter into the sixth but still finishing the outing strong, surrendering just one hit. Generates a ton of induced vertical break on the fastball, dominating the top rail in the high 80s, grabbing a few 90s. The Tarleton State commit creates a staggering amount of weak contact and stays ahead in counts.

Jude Huff (2028, Magnolia West) has been a revelation this spring for the Mustangs. In my first look, he finished the game with one scoreless frame, bullying hitters with his fastball at 87-91. In my second look, he came into an ultra high leverage situation in game 1 of a playoff game and proceeded to take over. Fastball held that previous velo, except this time it was for 3.1 scoreless frames. Also mixed in a developing slider and change piece. A lot to like for one of the biggest breakout arms in the class.

Landon Brown (2026, Iowa Colony) had arguably the most dominant pitching performance of the spring. Struck out 16 in a complete game shutout. Fastball was a loud 92-94, topping at 95 with plenty of run. Showed feel for the cutter at 88-90, adding a slider and splitter that were extremely difficult to pick up for opposing hitters. One of the more projectable arms in this class. Expect the Mississippi State commit to hear his name called early in this year’s draft.

Braxton Beaty (2026, Angleton) faced Brown in the same game matched him bar for bar. The LSU commit tossed 4 hitless frames, punching out an absurd 11. Fastball sat in the low 90s, grabbing 93. Slider flashed plus ability in the upper 70s with elite feel. One of the best pitchability arms in the class figures to contribute early for the Tigers next year, if the draft doesn’t come calling first.

Connor Comeau (2026, Anderson) made his case for being the best bat in Texas. Uber projectable frame with athleticism that has a chance to stick up the middle. Saw him have a three hit day against Westlake. The Texas A&M commit led off the game with a backside bomb to left, adding a triple and a single later to fall a double short of the cycle. Electric offensive profile that is shooting up draft boards.

Hank Rippy (2027, Anderson) has turned himself into one of the more intriguing 27s in the state. Smooth left handed swing with bat speed through the lower part of the zone. Works well gap to gap, with more power on the way. The Texas commit will be a big one to watch over the next year.

Really liked what I saw from Lane Johnson (2027, Westlake). One of the stronger uncommitted prospects in the country. Looks the part on both ends as he holds it down in centerfield while being a strong meat of the order presence with a developing offensive profile. Free mover with upside as he continues to progress physically.

Quinn Fitzpatrick (2027, Stratford) has taken a massive leap. He was nails in a massive rivalry game against Memorial. Fastball sat 92-95 the first time through the order. Super twitchy arm with even more to project. Some serious flashes with both his breakers, showing some top of the class upside. Also flashed a solid mid 80s change piece. Big time breakout for the LSU commit this spring, but has enough to dream on when it comes to the 2027 draft cycle.

Matthew Manis (2026, Memorial) faced Fitzpatrick in that same game and was flat out dominant. Mainly a two pitch mix but they are both proving to be extremely high floor offerings. The Texas commit sat 90-92 the entire outing, grabbing a 93 as he dominated the top rail throughout. Was surgical with his slider usage and stayed in control throughout with both pitches. Such an easy operation, one of the more consistent arms in the state.

Garrett Bagwell (2027, Magnolia West) was a really fun watch in round 1 of the playoffs. The Rice commit is super physical in the box, as he starts to come into his own offensively. Has consistently lived on the barrel to the pull side, and this was made apparent when he sent a towering blast over the left field wall in game 1, which ended up being the difference in the Mustangs victory. Really intriguing offensive profile that will be a big one to monitor moving forward.

Luke Daigle (2027, Cypress Ranch) was a pleasant surprise out of the bullpen. After the starter failed to record an out in game 2 of the playoffs, Daigle came in and shut off the water to give his side a chance. Went 6.2 strong innings in relief, punching out 10. Fastball lived 88-91 and for the most part held velo throughout. Mainly worked north to south as he paid his four seam with a depthy breaker at 76-78. Really impressive showing in a big moment for a rising prospect in the 27 class.
