Houston kept its postseason hopes alive in the opening game of the day, a 9-5 win over Southeastern Louisiana. UH righthanded pitcher Aaron Garza allowed just two runs in six innings, while leadoff hitter Kyle Survance had an impressive afternoon at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Meanwhile, UH shortstop Frankie Ratcliff had an impressive game at the plate, collecting two doubles and knocking in a pair of runs … In the nightcap, UH leadoff hitter Kyle Survance hit an RBI single in the top of the 11th to give the Cougars a 5-4 lead and the win by shutting down LSU in the bottom of the inning. Survance had yet another impressive offensive performance, finishing the night with three hits and an RBI. Meanwhile, on the mound, starting pitcher David Longville struck out two, walked one and allowed a run on five hits in five innings, while the most clutch performance came from righthanded reliever Chase Wellbrock, who allowed just a run and three hits in five innings. LSU wasted an outstanding performance from lefty Kyle Bouman, who tossed six shutout innings.

Stanford third baseman Alex Blandino and first baseman Danny Diekroeger each hit a home run in the first game of the day in a 12-4 win over Youngstown State to stay alive in the NCAA postseason, while starting pitcher and freshman Brett Hanewich struck out nine, walked three and allowed just two runs on three hits in seven innings … In the nightcap, the Cardinal surprised many by beating host Indiana 10-7 to stay alive another day. Stanford entered the eighth inning down 6-4, but got a massive three-run homer from Wayne Taylor to take a 7-6 lead over the Hoosiers. Meanwhile, the Cardinal extended their lead in the ninth inning with a three-run frame to go up 10-7. Stanford wouldn’t relinquish that lead in the bottom of the ninth inning despite a little drama. Austin Slater and Zach Hoffpauir each finished the contest with three hits, while AJ Vanegas shined on the mound after starting pitcher James Logan only lasted 1 2/3 innings, allowing just two runs on four hits in 5 1/3 innings of work.

Texas A&M appeared to be in a heap of trouble Sunday afternoon, sitting down 6-0 to Rice going to the bottom of the seventh inning. However, the Aggies got a massive boost with a five-run seventh inning, capped off by a grand slam to right field from first baseman Cole Lankford to cut the lead to 6-5. The Aggies took the lead in the eighth inning with a pair of runs to go ahead 7-6, while they scored two runs in the bottom of the 10th inning to stay alive with a 9-8 victory over the Owls. The Aggies got productive performances from leadoff hitter Blake Allemand (three hits) and Krey Bratsen (three hits), among others … In the nightcap, and needing a win to stay alive in the Houston Regional, the Aggies called on freshman lefthanded pitcher Tyler Stubblefield to get the job done against the 'Horns. He definitely didn't disappoint, striking out nine, walking five and allowing just two runs on four hits in nine innings. In the middle innings, Stubblefield retired seven-straight Longhorns and never looked back in the 3-2 victory. The Aggies have some momentum going into Monday's action in Houston.
