In a season that has already had many exciting matchups across various events, we as a staff would like to highlight or “Shout-Out” notable performers along with an Uncommitted Spotlight and Team Spotlight. 

Uncommitted Spotlight: Mason Rosenberg, 1B, 2027, Bishop Eustace Prep 



Uncommitted Mason Rosenberg (2027, NJ) has been an absolute force within the Bishop Eustace lineup, as the left-handed hitting slugger is hitting .481 through eleven games including six homers. The strength has vastly improved, allowing for Rosenberg to impact the baseball with authority to all fields. Couple that with improved speed and athleticism, this uncommitted 2027 can be a welcomed addition to a class looking for offense. 

Team Spotlight: Northern Burlington (9-0)

Northern Burlington is once again off to a hot start, as the Greyhounds sit at 9-0 thus far and have continued to showcase one of the more potent offenses within the state, while their pitching has been downright unhittable. They are led by a quintet of Division One commits in Cole Marchetti, Liam Velit, Jordan Gilligo, Logan Downey and Brent Walulak. All of them are hitting over .350 with three of them hitting .500 or above including an astounding .640 average by two-way star Cole Marchetti. Downey has five homers and has yet to allow a run on the mound, while Marchetti and Gilligo have allowed just one run a piece. They look poised for another deep run, as they look for back-to-back State Championships in NJ Group 3. 

Bucknell commit Adam Williams (’26, NJ) has cemented himself as a leading piece to St. Augustine Prep’s lineup, as well as holding down shortstop due to injury. So far this season, Williams has slugged .618, including two doubles and two homers, driving in five. The senior infielder starts with an even base and lower hands, working to a quick compact barrel via a deeper inward leg load. He’s produced most impact to the pull side, continually peppering all fields with hard hit line drives. Defensively, Williams profiles at multiple positions on the infield, utilizing a medium frame with strength in his lower half. 


Penn State commit Alex Weingartner (’26, NJ) has drawn large numbers of professional scouts throughout the early spring, producing on both sides of the ball. The South Jersey right-hander starts above the belt, working into a high and compact leg lift before firing down the mound via a long arm action, releasing from a high three-quarters slot. Weingartner works up to 94 with a riding fastball, maintaining the low-90s, while showcasing feel for a pair of distinct breaking balls. The slider features sharp horizontal tilt with late bite, throwing it in the low-80s. He also mixes in an 11-5 mid-70s curveball with late vertical bite, flashing a fading change-up. At the plate, Weingartner has slugged three homers while swiping ten bags thus far, with an efficient right-handed swing. The Nittany Lions recruit uses high level speed and arm strength while patrolling center field. 


Mississippi State commit Cooper Burti (’27, NJ) showcased an advanced three pitch mix against a talented lineup, working from a lengthy left-handed frame with lower half strength. Burti starts over the face and squared to the plate, transitioning into a high and pronounced leg lift. He fires down the mound via a compact and quick arm action with a high three-quarters slot. The southpaw ran his run/ride high-spin fastball up to 91 (2500), mixing in a deep 1-7 curveball with late two-plane bite. Burti flashed feel for a fading change-up, killing spin effectively. He’s started his spring with a 3.32 ERA, striking out 14 over 6.1 innings. 
 
Mississippi State commit Noah Danza (’26, NJ) has garnered considerable scouting attention to start the spring, in part thanks to a big and projectable frame with high level athleticism. Defensively, Danza moves effectively on the infield, showcasing a strong arm in game on multiple occasions. He has the frame and actions to hold down multiple defensive positions throughout the field. At the plate, the Bulldogs recruit starts wide and torqued, keeping the hands low before working into an inward toe-tap pre-launch. Danza owns a .345 AVG with five extra base hits, including a homer and four doubles. 

Brody Taylor (’29, NJ) is as talented as they come for a freshman, carving out an everyday role in a talented lineup. He’s driven in nine thus far, posting a .355 AVG across 11 hits and 31 at-bats. Taylor works from an undersized frame with considerable strength, starts with an even base and high hands from the left side. He transitions into a simple outward leg load before firing through a quick and compact barrel, showcasing impact to multiple fields. Defensively, Taylor has bounced around the outfield and has the ability to play center. 


Maryland commit Julian Guzman (’26, NY) had quite the performance in the Mid-Atlantic Baseball Challenge, collecting knocks from both sides of the plate. The switch-hitting shortstop works from a medium frame with strength present, showcasing quick twitch athleticism on both sides of the ball. Guzman starts wide with high hands from the right side, spreading the base and lowering the hands from the left side. He works to launch via a deep inward toe tap before firing through a quick and compact barrel. Defensively, Guzman patrols shortstop and figures to stick on the infield dirt. 
 

Miami commit Devin Diaz (’26, NY) was another top performer in the inaugural Mid-Atlantic Baseball Challenge, showcasing advanced traits behind the dish and in the box. The right-handed hitting backstop sets up with a slightly even base and high hands, working to the barrel via a simple step load. Diaz delivered hard hits all over the yard throughout the event, including a pair of doubles. Behind the plate, Diaz produced pop times consistently under 2.00, displaying high level leadership skills and athleticism at the catcher position. 
 

Jason Amalbert - 2026 IF/OF, DePaul Catholic (N.J.) turned in a spectacular offensive performance against a conference foe last Tuesday, finishing 4-for-4 with two home runs and a double. He has recently climbed up the PG Draft Board, where he currently sits at no. 146 overall. Offensively, the 6-foot righty hitter showed off a loose and athletic operation in the box, generating a ton of effortless bat speed and strength at impact. He swings a potent bat and has proven to be just as powerful to the opposite-field as he is to the pull-side. Amalbert’s speed on the basepaths is another valuable asset that has given the Spartans the edge in a few tightly contested games. The Oklahoma commit likes to stretch base hits into doubles and can swipe bags against some of the best catchers in the region. With elite skillsets at both the shortstop and centerfield positions, Amalbert makes for a very versatile prospect with a lot of intrigue surrounding him.
 

David Hinojosa - 2026 RHP, Poly Prep (N.Y.) toed the rubber for the Blue Devils in the first round of the inaugural Mid-Atlantic Baseball Challenge this past week. The right-hander struck out nine batters, allowing just one run against a very talented Seton Hall Prep lineup in front of a lot of pro scouts. His fastball opened up in the 92-93 mph range with three 94s showing up in the first inning. He settled in at 89-91 towards the later innings but was just as effective. The heater showed heavy life through the zone while being worked in all four quadrants. Hinojosa mixed in his lethal curveball early and often, inducing several awkward whiffs from it. He has shown to be very comfortable doubling and tripling up with the breaker, which has been up to 2700 rpm. It breaks late with tight depth, frequently landing at the bottom of the zone or just beneath it. His changeup was on the mark as well, proving to be a reliable offering against lefty bats. It fades nicely to the arm-side with abrupt fade, oftentimes ducking under opposing barrels. The Vanderbilt commit has garnered a lot of attention over the past year or so, and currently sits at no. 229 on our PG Draft Board. With a couple more impressive starts under his belt, the Queens native could climb into the Top 200 soon.
 

Sal Garcia - 2026 SS, Delbarton (N.J.) had an impressive week at the plate as the Green Wave defended their home turf in the first ever Mid-Atlantic Baseball Challenge. The 6-foot-2 righty hitter went 5-for-11 during tournament play with a home run, double and five RBI. The long ball came during a high-leverage moment for Delbarton, providing two crucial runs in the championship game against Gloucester Catholic. He showcased an advanced ability to control the barrel throughout the strike zone and pick up on spin. Garcia showed that he can play small ball just as well as he can hit the long ball. He laid down a few sacrifice bunts and also dropped one down for a hit without a throw to first base even being made. The Virginia commit also made several highlight-worthy plays at shortstop over the course of the week, saving runs and turning sure hits into outs. Plus speed, uber-athelticism, fast hands and elite bat-to-ball skills are just a few tools in Garcia’s bag that make him one of the most intriguing middle-infield prospects in the northeast.
 

Jordan Burwell - 2026 1B, Seton Hall Prep (N.J.) has gotten off to a hot start offensively for the Pirates, hitting .444 with three home runs, five doubles and 13 RBI through his first eight games. The lefty-hitting first baseman put on a particularly impressive clinic at the Mid-Atlantic Baseball Challenge, hitting .500 with six runs, five RBI and two long balls over that three-game span. He swings a very loud barrel with advanced feel for adjusting it throughout the strike zone. The West Virginia commit has the perfect blend of hit and power in his offensive profile, making him a very intriguing bat that could garner some draft attention over the next month or two. Burwell utilizes a rhythmic leg kick with clean separation and leverage generated through impact. He finishes heavy in his back-side while maintaining excellent posture over the baseball. Burwell also impressed on the defensive side of the ball this past week, making several difficult plays look routine while also handling errant throws with ease.
 

Asher DeLue - 2026 LHP, The Hun (N.J.) has pitched to a 3.00 ERA through his first three appearances for the Raiders, collecting 19 strikeouts over the course of 11.2 innings. The 6-foot-4 southpaw lives in the low-90s and was up to 93 mph earlier in the month. His heater showed heavy life with arm-side run, living on the outer-third of the strike zone for the majority of his outing. He showed good feel for landing his two-plane slider as well, which read spin up to 2300 rpm and induced a few whiffs. The pitch was occasionally manipulated to be more vertical at times, showcasing slightly sharper depth down in the zone. DeLue has really improved as a swing-and-miss threat, making him a very intriguing left-hander to keep eyes on as he prepares to pitch at Boston College next spring.
 

Ethan Suppi - 2027 LHP/OF, St. Augustine Prep (N.J.) has been swinging the bat particularly well for the Hermits this spring, batting .348 with 13 runs and five extra-base hits—including two long balls. He showcased effortless feel for adjusting the barrel throughout the strike zone, putting his sneaky power tool and plus speed on display on multiple occasions. He delivers a strong barrel in a timely manner, where he often creates leverage and carry to the pull-side. Suppi has only made one appearance on the mound this season—getting the heater up to 89 mph—but will likely be more involved in the Hermits’ rotation moving forward. He offers a ton of intrigue and upside as a 2027 prospect with legitimate two-way potential.
 

Lorenzo Maselli - 2026 1B, Delbarton (N.J.) had a very impressive offensive showing at the Mid-Atlantic Baseball Challenge, hitting .400 with a home run, two doubles and six RBI. The 6-foot-3 lefty hitter came up clutch on multiple occasions for the Green Wave, showing off his advanced barrel skills and budding power tool. He has plenty of present bat speed and quickness in the hips, allowing him to create frequently loud contact to all fields. Maselli impacts the baseball best towards the pull-side gap, but still managed to put one over the left field wall for an opposite field homer in the championship game this past Sunday. The Penn commit has quickly become one of the best top lefty bats in the state with more power to project on moving forward.


Cayden Vishnesky (2026 Wind Gap, PA) was more than dominant in a start last week for Pen Argyl, as the ESU commit racked up 14 Ks over the course of six shutout IP with plenty to like in the arsenal. Standing at 6-foot, 200 pounds, the Senior RHP looks the part of a high level athlete and to say he knows how to get guys out would be an understatement. The FB, which sits in the mid to upper 80s, displays present riding action and can be located to all quadrants of the zone for swing/miss. He can ramp it up when needed as well, being known to tick 90 when necessary with a low effort delivery + actions that yield velocity retention deep into starts. He features both a SL and CH in the arsenal and does well to keep hitters off balance with good sequencing displayed. Vishnesky is a high-level competitor with a ridiculous stat line on the year: now sitting at a 0.74 ERA over the course of 28.1 IP with 61 Ks, and should be a welcome addition in the Fall for an East Stroudsburg team that consistently finds themselves in the D2 rankings.
 
Jalen Bowman (2027 Phoenixville, PA) went on an absolute tear over the course of the Mid-Atlantic Challenge last week in the Tri-State Area, starting hot in Malvern Prep’s opening game against a strong Iona Prep side. Bowman, who stands at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, is the textbook definition of athleticism and that shows on both sides of the field. The speed tool here is nothing short of elite, matching up against some of the best in the country flashing a 4.0 home to first time in-game. When you can beat out routine ground balls to 2B, there’s something special here and is an absolute nightmare for opponents to try and contain. Speed isn’t the only prevalent tool on display here, as the North Carolina State commit also has plenty to like in terms of the swing, constantly finding barrels to the middle of the field with carry and backspin production present. He’s a well rounded prospect with some metrics that jump off the page and make him a hot topic of discussion still as just a Junior.


Kayden Wallace (2028 Chester Springs, PA) gave Malvern Prep a strong five inning start on the bump in route to an opening win in the Mid-Atlantic Challenge, finishing with a final line of 3 H, 2 ER, and 7 Ks for the well-built 6-foot-1, 195 pound Sophomore righty. There’s lots to like in terms of young physicality here, as the FB sits in the 84-87 T88 mph range with more potentially to come. Mechanically, the operation is fluid and repeatable with balance maintained over the rubber and arm speed replicated on offspeed. The breaker consistently registered in the 2300s rpm with late action that generated swings over the top, disguising well with not a ton of hard contact given up. There’s already intriguing stuff to be found here, and we get to watch the Chester Springs native dominate for another two years after this.
 
Brady Abate (2026 Newtown Square, PA) is yet another lethal piece in the devastating lineup Malvern Prep puts out on a day-to-day basis, as the Wake Forest commit has one of the best offensive toolsets in the state with big time strength on display. At 5-foot-11, 200 pounds, Abate is a threat to leave the facility at all times and impacts the baseball with dangerous authority. He has plenty of natural bat speed with lots of intent behind the stroke, working the pull side of the field for loud impact. He’s shown the ability to hit for both AVG and power, and is a major run producer in the heart of the lineup for the Friars. As a top 10 player in the state, Abate continues to garner well-deserved attention and is one of the more exciting players to watch each time he steps on the field.


Every so often you arrive at a high school game expecting to see one player, but come away with a write up on another and that was exactly the case with Hamden Hall right-hander Nicolas Scillia (2026, Branford, Conn.) as he was slated to throw against Stanford commit Bryce Hill before a last minute change. Listed at 5-foot-10, 155 pounds per his PG profile, what Scillia doesn't posses in terms of physicality, he makes up for in pure stuff and long-term projection. For three of his four innings he was downright dominant before running into some command issues in the fourth, but regardless, it proved to be a strong look at the future Rhody Ram. 

Built like a middle infielder with the athleticism to match, Scillia toed the rubber and immediately began flooding the zone, sitting in the 87-89 mph range very comfortably throughout his four innings despite a colder, breezy day. It's a simple operation with a short stroke through the back, showing plenty of arm speed without much effort, helping maintain the heater both out of the wind up and stretch, though it was rare to see him in the latter. The first 7 outs came via the strikeout, showing some angle to the heater when working to the glove side while generating enough life on the fastball to help the velocity play up even more. The slider was for sure the difference maker from the onset and it was an offering he had no issues in doubling or tripling up on. An 81-83 mph pitch throughout, the slider racked up near double digit whiffs and served as a true put away pitch, showing spins in the 2500+ range, to go with actual intent of landing it front door to lefties and getting right-handers to chase out of the zone. 

Jey Scanlon (2027, West Haven, Conn.) caught my eye during pregame warm ups with a strong, accurate throws from center field throughout, making him somebody to track as we flipped to the offensive side of things which didn't take long as he's situated in the two-hole for Hamden Hall. An uncommitted junior, Scanlon went right to work, picking up a single through the left side before promptly stealing both second and third base, eventually coming around to score the first run of the game. He's strongly built and features solid bat speed throughout the zone, finding his way on base via an error in his second at-bat before going way out to center field in his third trip to the plate, the type of bomb where the center fielder simply turns and watches it sail over the fence. Though it was a small sample size, you'd have to think the tools are there for a college at the next level to be intrigued and want to monitor throughout the spring season.

Another few weeks have wrapped up this high school season as we’re flying through the spring and most southern states are starting playoffs right around the corner. With the end of the regular season, we have another National Top 50 update to bring to you, along with this will be the start of the weekly editions of our National Top 50. We have a change at the top of the rankings as Venice (FL) takes over the top spot after just dominating their competition in the state of Florida this year. Orange Lutheran (CA) drops one spot to No. 2 after dropping a series but still holds firm at No. 2 in the country. Barbe (LA) has continued to dominate and holds onto the No. 3 spot while Tomball (TX) skyrockets in this update to No. 4 in the country, currently holding an incredible 30-0-1 record. Roch Cholowsky, SS, UCLA R-R, 6-2/202, Chandler, AZ Previously Drafted: Never Drafted Roch Cholowsky has consistently ranked at the top of the class throughout the cycle due to the safety and upside of the profile. Defensively, he is a plus defender at shortstop with soft hands, consistent actions, and quality range. Not only should he stick at the position long term, he should excel there at the next level. Perfect Game Softball Battle for the Belt April 18-19, 2026 Des Moines, Iowa It was a cold and very windy weekend, but the girls still came out and put in their best efforts. If you wanted the place to see some of the state’s top talent, this was the tournament to be at. The 18u division was quite the slugfest! The Ankeny Centennial 18U -Kennedy team took down a tough Iowa Alliance Select-Benge team in the championship. Both teams had double digit homeruns on the weekend. Another week down and Johnson County continues their torrid run to remain at number 1. They're 46-2 on the season with multiple hitters over 25 bombs which is astonishing for the level as the Cavs have announced themselves as title favorites.
