Up until nearly signing day, the Commodores held onto the No. 1 spot, but a late minute flip by LSU gave them the top rank. That said, holding that No. 1 spot for so long speaks to the depth and overall talent of what Head Coach Tim Corbin and his staff were able to assemble over the last couple of years, highlighted by an incredible 9 (!!) Perfect Game All-Americans. And however you want to dissect the class, the numbers remain pretty incredible: of the 23 commits, 22 are ranked within the top 400, 12 are in the top 100, and 1/5th of the top 25 nationally ranked prospects are heading to Nashville.

Leading the way is an ultra-athletic, freaky type of athlete in Eric Booth Jr. and I mean that in the beset of ways as he's listed at 6-foot, 207 pounds and ran a 6.27 60-yard at the PG National, showing an eye-opening blend of fast-twitch and pure strength as the left-handed swing is capable of making any ballpark look small. And speaking of skills you don't always see, shortstop Aiden Ruiz is a switch-hitting, both-handed sure-fire shortstop at the next level and while he won't be playing up-the-middle left-handed, it speaks to his overall athleticism and body control, two things that suit him very well both in the dirt and in the batter's box.

Another reason the Commodores saw their class ranked so highly was a surge up the rankings from a couple of their guys after the fall circuit, as outfielder Noah Wilson, tooled up shortstop Luke Williams and Canadian southpaw Sean Duncan were all spectacular in Jupiter and put an exclamation point on their Perfect Game careers with loud performances in all facets.

In fact, Duncan is one of three lefties committed to the Commodores ranked with in the top 50, joining a pair of giants in 6-foot-5 Bo Holloway and 6-foot-8 RJ Cope, both of whom are able to climb into the mid-90s with their heaters while offering put away type secondary pitches. Ranked between the two left-handed towers is 6-foot-4 Georgian product, right-hander Joseph Contreras, who we've seen into the upper-90s already and possesses arguably the best high school split-finger of all time.

Add in the likes of middle infielders Keon Johnson out of Georgia, California prep shortstop James Tronstein and a pair of in-state commits with Gunner Skelton and Collin Bland and that's a quick look at the commits within the top-100, though the talent doesn't end there. They once again took care of the talent in their own backyard with 7 commits from the Volunteer State while setting up shop in New York and Pennsylvania. The talent on the mound is plentiful with hard throwing commits all over the place and a couple of sleepers who could pop and turn themselves into very real draft prospects in due time.

MLK West Scout Notes: Days 3-4

MLK West Scout Notes: Days 1-2 Markus Chandler, RHP, Westside HS Class of 2027 A little on the undersized side as a sub 6 footer, but Chandler can generate some velo and spin.  Spun 3 frames of hitless ball for Spects National with zero walks and 6 strikeouts.  Committed to Kansas State, the righty ran the fastball to 92, living 89-92 pumping the zone with 75 percent strikes.  Looked like two different breaking balls, with the SL 80/81 (spin in 2500’s) and curveball 75/76.  No hard contact, little contact at all off the righty in this dominant outing. To follow up the pitching performance, Chandler swung the bat well on Championship Monday (Trademark Pending) with 5 RBI and three hits on the day, regularly on the barrel.  Trevor Alons, RHP, Centennial HS Class of 2028 Lean framed sophomore with a quick, whippy arm.  Playing up a few classes, you might...

Ashley Mears

2026 Perfect Game Softball Turf Wars January 9-11 Ashley Mears   The 2026 season kicked off in impressive fashion at the Fun City Dome in Burlington, Iowa, featuring a highly competitive field across both age groups. The 18U division was loaded with talent, including over 20 Division I and II commits and several high-upside prospects, leading to intense bracket play and multiple walk-off finishes. Iowa Nationals claimed the championship over a well-rounded Iowa Prospects Gold team. The 14U division brought together quality programs from Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois. The tournament championship was an exciting matchup where Southeast Iowa Swarm edged a tough Black Dragons squad. 18u Lauren Hagedorn (2026, Adel, IA) of Iowa Nationals and future Iowa State Cyclone earned weekend MVP honors after a strong two-way performance. In the circle, she consistently kept hitters off balance...

Top 100 Collegiate Seniors

Vincent Cervino

Top 100 Collegiate Freshmen | Top 100 Collegiate Sophomores | Top 100 Collegiate Juniors This senior board is one of the deepest we’ve assembled in years. From experienced weekend arms with power stuff, to proven position players coming off loud 2025 spring seasons, to former prospects returning from injury and looking to reestablish their status, impact players are scattered throughout the group. Headlining the board is Maika Niu, now at Arkansas after a strong season at Marshall and an MVP summer on the Cape. Nui is a high-level athlete in center field and a legitimate offensive force who should slide seamlessly into the heart of the Razorbacks’ lineup. Close behind are two premium arms in Ole Miss’s Hunter Elliott and Kentucky’s Jaxon Jelkin. Elliott is coming off a monster 2025 spring, going 10–3 with a 2.94 ERA and 104 strikeouts, and...
