PEARLAND, TX- It was a perfect weekend for softball out in Pearland last weekend. The weather was right, the competitors were ready, and some great softball was played at each age division. Thirty-two teams converged on the Sports Complex at Shadow Creek Ranch in three age divisions to battle it out to see who the Champions Cup victors would be. Below we highlight some of the top performers and standout players from last weekend’s action.
14U Division
Kynzleigh Thomas (2031, Lake Jackson, TX) of the Texas Bombers Gold STX 2030 was phenomenal on both sides of the ball this past weekend. On the mound, this athletically built right-handed pitcher was dominant. In her 12.2 innings of work, she struck out 15 batters while only giving up one earned run. Offensively, Kynzleigh proved to be a huge contributor to her lineup, driving in four runs and finishing the weekend with a .545 batting average. Not only was she truly effective with her bat, but she showed great patience at the plate, walking five times. She has a strong athletic stance in the box, loose hands, and swings against a solid front side resistance. She has a great swing and is seeing some solid results. This young athlete has a high upside, so keep your eye on her.
Lily Aguilar (2030, Manvel, TX) of the Lady Oilers 14U was highly impressive last weekend, being one of her team’s top offensive performers. She showed great consistency at the plate, belting nine hits, driving in an impressive six runs, and scoring eight times. One thing we loved was her nice toe touch at release point, allowing her to see the ball deeper with still eyes. She really tracked the ball well and her results were evident. She creates some solid barrel whip, giving her some power potential and pop. We look forward to seeing this young athlete continue her journey as she has a ton of potential.
Maecee Montgomery (2030, Montgomery, TX) of the Lady Oilers 14U had a dominating weekend at the plate. In 20 plate appearances, she drew four walks and racked up an impressive eight hits. She finished the weekend with a .500 batting average and did a fantastic job using her speed to create chaos on the bases. She proved to be a great spark plug for her team, finding her way on base and flashing her speed with five stolen bases. She also showed she can bring in runs for her squad, driving in three runs. She is athletic and versatile on defense as well, showing solid range. Overall, Maecee is a great young athlete who has a high ceiling for growth.
Samantha Klucznik (2029, Houston, TX) of the TX CF Intruders 2011- McGriff had two solid days of play last weekend. She started off the weekend hot, batting over .700 on Saturday alone, and finished the weekend strong. She finished with a .636 batting average in six games played and was a consistent force in the Intruders’ lineup. She scored four times and drove in a run for her squad. She has a relaxed stance at the plate with quiet movements during pre-pitch and a balanced toe touch and explosive swing. She brings great confidence to the plate and was a steady force all weekend.
Abigail Johnson (2030, Wimberly, TX) of the 14U Firecrackers -HTX Kay/Dammeyer is an athletic outfielder and hitter. She was phenomenal last weekend, batting an insane .750. She proved to have great patience at the plate, drawing five walks. She also showed her great footspeed, stealing four bases and legging out two doubles. Johnson’s athleticism was apparent on both sides of the ball, as she showed a quick first step, great range, and the ability to truly attack any balls within reach. She has some solid potential and we look forward to seeing her growth in the coming seasons.
Emma Bettinazzi (2030, Magnolia, TX) of the 14U Firecrackers -HTX Kay/Dammeyer is a hard-hitting right-handed hitter who showed up to compete last weekend. Over the course of the weekend, she notched a batting average over .600 and drove in four runs for her team. She had an athletic batting stance and did a great job utilizing a strong bottom half to generate some good barrel pop. She was fantastic at finding multiple ways to contribute to her team’s offensive output, working counts, seeing a lot of pitches, and finding her way on base. Her on-base percentage was over .700, showing just how productive she was capable of. Overall, Emma is am athletic kid who was a solid contributor to her team on both sides of the ball.
Lucy Johnston (2029, League City, TX) of the Texas Strike Force Elite- Bullard was a force to be reckoned with this past weekend in Pearland. She finished the weekend batting well over .600 and drove in an impressive six runs for her team. She proved she could come through in clutch situations multiple times, but also was a catalyst in many innings working her way on base and creating chaos. She has an athletic and balanced swing and was a joy to watch.
Tenley Coe (2030, Lake Jackson, TX) of the Texas Bombers Gold STX 2030 was incredibly successful for her team this past weekend. She is a very athletic middle infielder who takes solid angles on balls and covers ground well. Offensively, she truly stood out, showing off an athletic swing and great barrel awareness. She racked up seven hits over the course of six games and finished the weekend with a strong .636 batting average. She helped her team out with three RBI’s and didn’t strike out a single time. Her consistency is what made her stand out and we look forward to seeing more out of this young athlete.
Madison Melendez (2031, Houston, TX) of the Texas Strike Force Elite- Bullard was a true spark plug for her squad last weekend. Her consistency at the plate and her ability to take extra bases with her heads up baserunning were standout traits. Although it was a tough weekend for her team, she truly did shine and showed incredible tenacity in the box. She has a bright future, and we look forward to seeing more from her.
Harper Braun (2030, Freeport, TX) of the Texas Bombers Gold STX 2030 was a steady offensive force for her team. Over the course of the weekend, she was tenacious in the box, finding ways to get herself on base to help her team. In 12 plate appearances, she drew four walks, ended up with five hits, and stole a base. She also came in when it counted, as she drove in four runs for her team. Braun was productive in so many ways and we see a ton of potential in her.

Caitlyn Alley (2030, League City, TX) of the Texas Bombers Gold STX 2030 finished the weekend with a .625 batting average and scored for her team six times. She drew three walks in 12 plate appearances and hit two doubles and a triple.
Rylea Escamilla (2031, Waller, TX) of the TX CF Intruders 14U-Sperring finished the weekend with an impressive .642 batting average and showed off her power with three doubles and a triple. She drove in five runs for her team and stole two bases.
Mackenzie Reynolds (2030, Houston, TX) of the TX CF Instruders 2011-McGriff finished her weekend with a .545 batting average and three RBI’s. She belted five singles and a double and had a stolen base.
Gracie Nahidi (2030, Spring, TX) of the TX CF Intruders 14U-Sperring finished her weekend with an impressive .500 with seven RBI’s. She belted two doubles and a triple and played a mean middle infield.
Audrey Hart (2029, League City, TX) of the Texas Twelve finished the weekend with a strong batting average of .571. She drove in three runs and was big contributor to their offense last weekend.
Hailey Brown (2029, Cypress, TX) of the 14U Firecrackers-HTX Kay/Dammeyer hit an impressive .571 on the weekend. She scored nine times for her team, stole six bases, and worked five walks. Well played Hailey!
