National High School Top 50: April 23

Last update started our weekly updates as the summer is right around the corner and a lot of states are starting playoffs or near the end of the regular season. With the high school season wrapping up, we have another ‘National Top 50’ update with some small changes and five new teams being introduced into the 50.

We have a new member to the top-10 with Memorial (TX) jumping one spot from No. 11 to No. 10. Gloucester Catholic (N.J.) jumps seven spots to No. 20 in the country after an 8-0 start to the year. Hewitt-Trussville (AL) has been absolutely rolling through the regular season and jumps eight spots to No. 27 in this update. Speaking of rolling, Owasso (OK) continues to climb in the top-50 with a 31-2 record now. St. John’s College (DC) is another squad that continues to rattle off wins and joins the top-30 in this update.

We welcome in five new teams into the top-50 in this update as mentioned previously and all have put together strong seasons thus far. Preseason top-50 team Valley Christian Schools rejoins the ‘National Top 50’ this update, coming in at No. 41. Houston County (GA) and Pope (GA) are two powerhouse Georgia programs who roll into the postseason with eyes on another state championship. Buchholz (FL) makes their first appearance in the top-50 this update after finishing the regular season with a staggering 26-1 record. We also welcome in one of the more potent offenses in the country in Purvis (MS) at No. 49.

There will be plenty of shake up in the coming weeks with playoffs beginning in multiple states and regular seasons finishing up in others. We’ll continue to bring you an updated National Top 50 every week until the end of the year so make sure to stay tuned for the updates coming up.
