MLB Mock Draft: Draft Night

1. Cleveland Guardians: Travis Bazzana, 2B, Oregon State

Cleveland holds the keys to the kingdom here and we’re told it’s down to Bazzana and West Virginia shortstop JJ Wetherholt. There have been rumblings with Chase Burns (plausible) and Bryce Rainer (seems unlikely) but if they go Wetherholt it will likely be for a significant discount.

2. Cincinnati Reds: Charlie Condon, OF/3B, Georgia

We’re told that the Reds are all over Condon and so long as Cleveland doesn’t take the Golden Spikes winner that the Reds will be all over this. The Reds would likely take Condon over Bazzana if he were here.

3. Colorado Rockies: Chase Burns, RHP, Wake Forest

The Rockies love Burns and think they’ll be getting a true superstar ace akin to Pirates starter Paul Skenes. This is the realistic ceiling for Jac Caglianone and another potential Bazzana landing spot.

4. Oakland Athletics: Nick Kurtz, 1B, Wake Forest

The Athletics likely have a tough choice between Kurtz and West Virginia shortstop JJ Wetherholt if he’s here. If Kurtz doesn’t go here there’s a chance he falls out of the top ten. This is the floor for Oregon State second baseman Travis Bazzana and he would be the pick if he’s here.

5. Chicago White Sox: JJ Wetherholt, SS, West Virginia

This is likely the floor for Wetherholt and the White Sox would absolutely grab him should he be available. This is the realistic ceiling for some of the high schoolers like Konnor Griffin and Bryce Rainer; Jac Caglianone is aso in the mix.

6. Kansas City Royals: Braden Montgomery, OF, Texas A&M

Royals have been linked to numerous college bats and that includes the top arm left in Arkansas lefty Hagen Smith. There were also rumors of an underslot deal with Florida State outfielder James Tibbs III here. If this isn’t where Jac Caglianone lands his floor isn’t further behind.

7. St. Louis Cardinals: Jac Caglianone, 1B/LHP, Florida

Caglianone has landing spots all over the top ten with big interest at picks 3, 5, and 6. The Cardinals have also been heavy on California prep shortstop Bryce Rainer and that could be an option here.

8. Los Angeles Angels: Hagen Smith, LHP, Arkansas

Smith could realistically go in the top five picks but new information suggests that the Angels are looking for a heavy discount at pick 8. In this scenario, Smith isn’t coming at much of a discount but don’t be surprised if they go for a tier 2 college player for a significant undercut.

9. Pittsburgh Pirates: Bryce Rainer, SS, Harvard Westlake (Calif.)

We’re told that the Pirates are all over Rainer and given yesterday’s trade news they’ll likely have to up the ante to keep him from Washington. The Pirates would also be interested in Nick Kurtz should he fall here.

10. Washington Nationals: Konnor Griffin, OF, Jackson Prep (Miss.)

The Nationals acquired compensation pick 39 and now have some extra money to play with. They’d be interested in tier 1 college bats who fall but have been heavily linked to preps like Griffin and Harvard Westlake shortstop Bryce Rainer.

11. Detroit Tigers: Cam Caminiti, LHP, Saguaro (Ariz.)

We’ve been told that the Tigers are all in on Caminiti and this is likely his ceiling at pick 11. They’ve also been linked to college bats who might fall but the Tigers stuck to their guns last year in taking Max Clark over Wyatt Langford so once they find their guy they tend to lock him in.

12. Boston Red Sox: James Tibbs III, OF, Florida State

Tibbs could go as high as pick 6 but the Sox have been all over Tibbs throughout the draft process. We’ve been told that Boston is heavily in on college bats with this being the realistic ceiling for some catchers like Caleb Lomavita or Malcolm Moore.

13. San Francisco Giants: Trey Yesavage, RHP, East Carolina

The Giants have also been heavily linked to Arizona prep left-hander Cam Caminiti but have otherwise turned their attention to college pitching. The dream scenario is if someone like Hagen Smith fell to 13 but that doesn’t seem likely at this point.

14. Chicago Cubs: Malcolm Moore, C, Stanford

Moore’s stock has rebounded significantly thanks to a strong second half and strong showing at the draft combine. California catcher Caleb Lomavita is also in play here and this is probably the ceiling for guys like Christian Moore and Ryan Waldschmidt.

15. Seattle Mariners: Christian Moore, 2B, Tennessee

We keep hearing college with Seattle and in addition to Moore they’ve been liked to guys like Jurrangelo Cijntje, Seaver King, Cam Smith, Carson Benge, and more. They’ll likely have their pick of college players to choose from.

16. Miami Marlins: Ryan Waldschmidt, OF, Kentucky

The Marlins, similarly to Seattle, have been heavily linked to college players, specifically up the middle types. There’s not a ton of college shortstops so Kaelen Culpepper could be a possibility and Jurrangelo Cijntje is another name that has been heavily linked to them.

17. Milwaukee Brewers: Carson Benge, OF, Oklahoma State

The teens are going to likely be college heavy after the big three high schoolers go at the beginning of the teens but college will likely dominate this area. Cam Smith and Seaver King are other names that could go around here.

18. Tampa Bay Rays: Seaver King, SS/OF, Wake Forest

This is probably the ceiling for Texas prep shortstop Theo Gillen and the Rays have also been linked to Jurrangelo Cijntje. They love athletes and Seaver King would fit that description to a tee.

19. New York Mets: Cameron Smith, 3B, Florida State

Smith has suitors all over the middle of the first and the Mets have also been linked to college arms like Brody Brecht and Jurrangelo Cijntjel; this is a potential Vance Honeycutt landing spot too. They could also go the high school route should all the tier 2 college targets be gone but that feels unlikely.

20. Toronto Blue Jays: Theo Gillen, SS/OF, Westlake (Tex.)

Gillen is one of the best up the middle athletes on the high school side and also one of the better prep bats. They’re still linked heavily to college bats and this is the realistic ceiling for Billy Amick and Tommy White.

21. Minnesota Twins: Jurrangelo Cijntje, BHP, Mississippi State

The Twins are heavy on the college side of things and they could consider corner bats like Billy Amick and Tommy White. Vance Honeycutt could be in play but in this scenario they’ll grab Cijntje as this is likely his floor.

22. Baltimore Orioles: Vance Honeycutt, OF, North Carolina

Strikeout rates don’t scare Baltimore and they’ll be thrilled to get a player of Honeycutt’s caliber here. They’ve been heavily linked to left-handed prep shortstops like Gillen, Wyatt Sanford, Tyson Lewis, among others.

23. Los Angeles Dodgers: Ryan Sloan, RHP, York Community (Ill.)

The Dodgers have been seemingly linked to anyone and everyone recently but the marker for the prep right-handers has been similarly all over the place. With this many rumors about so many guys they’ll land Sloan here.

24. Atlanta Braves: Brody Brecht, RHP, Iowa

We’ve heard the Braves heavily linked to Brody Brecht here with the possibility they look to a high schooler if they decide otherwise. Prep arms would be in play here like William Schmidt, Dax Whitney, Kash Mayfield, Braylon Doughty, and others.

25. San Diego Padres: Kellon Lindsey, SS/OF, Hardee Senior (Fla.)

The Padres are all over high schoolers as you might expect but that wouldn’t preclude them from a big name college bat who drops, think a Caleb Lomavita or Malcolm Moore type. They’re also on Wyatt Sanford, Tyson Lewis, and other prep shortstops.

26. New York Yankees: Dax Whitney, Blackfoot (Idaho)

Whitney is a name I continue to hear climb and climb as we get closer to the draft. Other preps like William Schmidt are options while this is likely the ceiling for hometown high schooler Luke Dickerson. White and Amick are options here too.

27. Philadelphia Phillies: PJ Morlando, OF, Summerville (S.C.)

The Phillies continue to be tied to upside power bats so think high schoolers like Morlando and college bats like Tommy White. Slade Caldwell was linked here a couple of weeks ago but that seems to have cooled off.

28. Houston Astros: Caleb Lomavita, C, California

In addition to Lomavita, Tommy White and Billy Amick are in play as are prep shortstops like Tyson Lewis and Wyatt Sanford. Walker Janek is in play here too as both Texas teams picking at the end have been tied to him.

29. Arizona Diamondbacks: Tommy White, 3B,  LSU

The Diamondbacks have a ton of flexibility to get creative and if this pick is college I would expect high school overpays to follow. This is another realistic landing spot for PJ Morlando as well as other college bats who fall.

30. Texas Rangers: Walker Janek, C, Sam Houston

The Rangers have been tied to Janek since over a month ago and there’s no reason not to believe that chatter now. They could go a number of different directions and we’ve heard them tied to Nebraska prep shortstop Tyson Lewis in the past too.

PG Draft: Gut Feel Guys

Tyler Henninger

While we are nearing the turn of the calendar to the 2026 year, that means we are just inching closer to the beginning of the season for many high school players and college baseball is on the horizon. We are prepping for a reshuffle of the 2026 MLB Draft Board as well here amongst the PG Draft staff. But before we get to that, we sat down and have each picked a couple of players who are in the mix to get selected in a couple of different buckets.  We have prospects who could go into the Top 30 picks or so, prospects who could be selected in the Top 5 rounds, and prospects who could go inside of the Top 10 rounds. With the draft quite far down the road and a lot of re-shuffling to be done as these players play themselves into certain spots on the draft board, our scouts picked some players who fit into these “buckets” who are gut-feel guys. These are the guys that our PG...

MVPitcher: Duncan McLeod The uncommitted junior toed the slab in three of the four games for Team Mick, tossing 3 2/3 innings.  Zero walks, zero hits and 6 punchouts for the lefty who was used both as a starter in the series clinching game 4 and he closed out game 3 on Friday in quick fashion.  McLeod was very efficient as well, needing just 42 pitches over all his outings.  In the game 4 start, over two innings he punched out 3, with one strikeout with all of his offerings.  The mid 80’s fastball regularly played up, set up with efficient use of the secondaries, with the breaking ball 73/74 and fading change-up 72-74.   Owen Bone (2026) at it again... Solo shot in the 5th to tie things up. Back to back days with a home run for Bone. #PGHS pic.twitter.com/2JC9qETI5h — Perfect Game California (@California_PG) December 13, 2025 MV Hitter: ...

13u Tourney All-American Team

What a year it was in 2025 on the national landscape at the 13u level as Perfect Game continues to expand its reach around the country, providing an even bigger schedule of events coast-to-coast which has allowed players all over show out and gain their deserved recognition. Whether in Texas for the Houston 1000 or the 13u WWBA in West Palm Beach, we saw huge, eye opening performances from the players placed below, knowing that we could EASILY build a third team and likely a fourth without much effort.  As we do every year with this exercise, it's worth pointing out the trickiness of this age group and putting the teams together with the 13u group. While the players are all members of the Class of 2030, some are younger for the grade, which allowed them to play at the 12u level where's it's a smaller field, shorter mound distance and different bats, so we'll separate them out and...

Player of the Year: Asher Williams It was an incredible year for Williams that was rewarded with a trip to the 14U Select Fest, before some more impressive play in the fall. He came to the plate almost 250 times in PG tournaments throughout 2025 and reached base in well over half of them, hitting to a .500 AVG while slugging a 14U circuit best 12 bombs and driving in 113 runs. The numbers on the surface are ridiculous, but when you look at the high-level events he put them up in, it makes it even more impressive. Pitcher of the Year: Tristan Blalock Blalock earns this honor after a dominant 2025 where he struck out 85 batters in just 48.2 innings of work with a minuscule 1.58 ERA. This included several strong performances at many national level tournaments and showcases where he was able to bully some of the best hitters in the country. It’s hard not to fall in love with...

Hitter of the Year: Landon Bonner The 2028 class saw many players from across the country take the next step in their development as they entered the High School ranks. There were huge performances from highly ranked players on the PG circuit as well as some under-the-radar guys who burst onto the scene. Landon Bonner came into Sophomore National as a Top 500 ranked player and after an impressive showing, left with all eyes on him as a rankings riser in the class. The left-handed hitting shortstop from The Colony, Texas, had a summer to remember with All-Tournament Team selections in three of his next four events culminating with a historic performance at the 2025 PG 15U WWBA National Championship. The Hebron High School prep went 20-for-24 in nine games for 5 Star Mafia 15U Black with four homeruns and 12 runs batted in. He also scored 17 runs and finished with a mind-boggling 2.500...

Hitter of the Year: Koa Romero is the Hitter of the Year for the 16u group, as he would come to every premier event of the summer and earn All-Tournament honors (Beast of the East, 16/17u WWBA, Jupiter) in every single one. Over 82 plate appearances, Romero would pump ten homeruns with forty two RBI and sixteen walks, good for a .378 average and 1.339 OPS. The performance on volume at the best events of the year pushed Romero over the edge here, as he’d hit a pair of homeruns in Jupiter (one of them at 112 EV) as an underclassmen and collect double digit hits in BOTH WWBA events with a combined six jacks over the two tournaments. It was a summer that combined performance and winning on the biggest stages for Romero. It’s a quiet left-handed swing that packs a punch. He would reap the benefits of his performances, earning a commitment to LSU and jumping to the #74 prospect in...

They dip into Mississippi to land one of the premier arms and one that’s stood out on the circuit for quite some time. It’s a fast arm and the athleticism certainly shines working down the slope. The velocity has continued to tick up over the last calendar year and reached into the low-90s towards the end of the summer. He’s confident in his changeup and the breaking ball is...

There’s a lot of talent throughout this 2026 class, filled with the big-name stars, to talent that spreads across the nation. It’s been a lot of fun seeing these prospects grow and develop over the years, from the days of watching some of these guys at the 13/14u days at events on the circuit, to now where they are all graduating seniors in 2026. There’s been new faces who have popped along the way over the years, even in 2026, where some players who were relatively undiscovered, have come out and made a name for themselves with a statement performance. Between the familiar and the new, there’s a lot of names on this list that are going to be quite regularly talked about on the circuit, and for good reason.  Whether it’s PG All-Americans or not, there’s a lot of names with superstar potential at the next level. We’ve got 14 PG All-Americans...

Finest in the Field: Class of 2026 | Class of 2027 | Class of 2028 These guys might just be entering high school, but they've certainly already made a name for themselves on the national circuit, especially with their abilities on the defensive side of things.  C: Xavier Rodriguez (Logansville, GA) Rodriguez is a polished defender with real arm strength behind the dish, while showcasing the ability to impact the baseball with authority to all fields evident by thirty of his sixty-five hits going for extra-bases including seven bombs. Best Game I Saw: The Dream NTL 18U vs. MBA Scout Team Murphy Jupiter always brings out the best, and we got fireworks from the jump. Turner Marshall gave The Dream an outstanding 4+ innings of work on the mound, holding a lethal MBA team at bay with Chance Dixon, Derrick Carter, and Ellis Appling providing an offensive spark out of the gate for the Georgia based boys. However, it was only a matter of time before the talent on the other side got going, as MBA erased a 3-run deficit in the 5th to take a 4-3 lead led by a Parker Loew HR. The Dream then took command again in the Top of the 6th, before MBA punched right back with a huge 5-run inning in the bottom half capped off by a clutch RBI single from Matthew Kerrigan, ending a wild sequence with tons of notable performances from two very competitive rosters. Best Tournament Performance I Saw: Surely someone has already brought this...
