WWBA Freshmen WC Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4

Situated atop the lineup and up the middle at shortstop for 5 Star 15u White is Tyler Holmes (2024, Tifton, GA), a young left-handed hitter who showed some things to like on both sides of the ball on the final day of action. Listed at 5-foot-7, 145 pounds, Holmes put his defense and athleticism on display in a single play as he chased down a ball that looked destined for the outfield grass. With a quick first step Holmes ranged into the triangle behind shortstop/third base and in front of left field on a flare off the barrel, making an over the shoulder catch with his back turned to the field to complete the tough play. He’s listed as a switch hitter but all my looks throughout the tournament came left-handed as he did a nice job of staying short to the ball, showing a handle for the barrel while putting the ball in play and showing an awareness of the zone when in the box.
