12U PG Series Game Recaps- 7/23

In the second day of games, Mid South, Coastal, South, Southeast, Deep South, Central, and North all finished with wins. Coastal and Southeast stay undefeated in the tournament after today as Coastal improved to 3-0 and Southeast to 2-0. Coastal became victorious over North and West. In Coastal's first game, they were clicking on both sides. Their pitching staff who consisted of Travis Rhoads, Macaddin Dye, and Gunnar Healy, only allowed 3 total hits and 1 earned run. The Coastal 1-2 punch of Nigel Robinson and Ashton Smith continued to stay hot as Robinson went 4-4 on the day with 3 doubles and 4 RBI and Smith went 4 -5 with 3 RBI. Evan Meier also had a great day at the plate going 3-4 with a double, triple, homerun, and 4 RBI.

In Southeast's only game of the day, Cole Scott, Isaiah Drake, and Kyle Crisp all recorded a pair of hits and RBI. All three of them also pitched and only let up a combined 1 earned run.

Deep South split their two games today and won their second game in a shutout. Frankie Randall threw outstanding on the mound going 6 scoreless innings, only letting up 1 hit, and striking out 8. Randall also hit well in both games going 4-6 with a double, triple, and RBI. Alex Kuenzle hit .500 today with an RBI as well.

North also split their two games today and won their second one behind Tyler Fox's excellent pitching performance. He threw 4.1 innings, only allowed 1 run on 1 hit, and struck out 5. Offensively, John DiMarsico, Jack Fleury, and Joey Fanelli led the pack. DiMarsico went 3-3 in the game with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Fleury went 2-3 with a double and RBI. Fanelli hit .500 on the day with a double and 5 RBI.

Some other players who stood out today offensively were Bo Jonas and Thomas Conrad from Mid South. Jonas went 4-6 while Conrad went 3-6 with an RBI. Along with them, Wyatt Vincent and Aidan Larkin from Central swung the bat well. Vincent went 4-6 with a double, RBI, and 4 runs scored and Larkin also went 4-6 including a double, RBI, and 2 runs scored. Finally, Jaylen Jones from South had a great game going 3-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.

On the mound, Colby Deaver and Joseph Schroeder combined for 6 innings, 1 run on 4 hits, and 8 K's for Mid South. From Central, Colten Payton threw 3 scoreless innings only allowing 1 hit and striking out 4. Chase Moller and Tyshon Patty both excelled on the mound for South as they combined for 5 innings, 1 earned run on 3 hits, and 4 K's.
