Royal vs. White Game Highlights

2/19/2023

Jathan Spain (2026 RHP, Cape Girardeau, MO) showed off huge upside as a two-way prospect collecting a solid hit up the middle in the game. On the mound he continued to impress running the fastball up to 89 and showing a slider that flashes out-pitch potential with a spin rate of 2476 RPM. He also flashed a change-up that had some late drop to it. Spain has huge upside as his wiry 6-foot-4, 190-pound frame continues to add.

Kaiden Simons (2026 OF, Kansas City, KS) showed off his upside with a loud barrel into left field. Simons showed off his simple swing with a slight uphill plane that can use the whole field. Simons impressed in the outfield with quick feet and aggressive approach to the ball and a full arm action with some whip.

John Spivey (2024 OF, Saint Louis, MO) showed off the bat speed getting out ahead and ripping one down the third base line. Spivey impressed all game with loud contact and consistently finding the barrel. He showed off the well-roundedness of his game with a 6.86 sixty time and developing power upside as his athletic 5-foot-11, 185-pound frame adds more strength.

Austin Musso (2025 RHP, Mascoutah, IL) continued to impress this time with the bat in his hands as he turned on a pitch and ripped it into the left-center field gap for a loud extra-base hit. Musso shows good two-way potential with a tall and slender 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame that still can fill out.

Hayden Hubbard (2026 1B, Lee’s Summit, MO) impressed on the mound during his one inning appearance running the fastball up to 80-83. He also showed off a slider that he was able to spin up to 2537 RPM with good two-plane break. Hubbard also flashed a change-up that showed good fade. High upside with a good three-pitch mix.

White vs. Red Game Highlights

Athletic 6-foot-0, 180-pound frame that can still fill.

Mason Hartman (2024 LHP, Maryville, IL) impressed on the mound with a solid two-pitch mix. He featured a fastball that was 80-83 and worked well with a downhill plane. He also showed off a slider that impressed with flashes of wipeout potential with a spin rate of 2518 RPM and sharp break.

2023 National Indoor (Sunday) Batting Practice Highlights

2/19/2023

John Spivey (2024, Saint Louis, Mo.) was quite impressive during his round of BP. Worked to the middle of the field and opposite field with a controlled approach in the batters’ box. Had some solid contact to the pull-side part of the care later in the round of BP swings as well.

Evan Fulhorst (2024, Saint Peters, Mo.) had some bat speed and quick hands through the zone. Was able to pepper the pull-side part of the cage in the air. The hand speed showed, working quickly through the zone with some strength during his round of BP swings.

Hayden Hubbard (2026, Lee’s Summit, Mo.) had some bat speed through the zone with good control of the barrel. He had some thump off the bat and was able to hit the ball hard while working pull-side. Was able to get extended at times and drive the ball in the air during his round of BP swings.

Angel Castro (2025, Chicago, Ill.) barreled up almost every ball that he hit during his round of BP swings. Had a couple of well-struck line drives back up the middle. Worked all over the field, but the best contact was up the middle. Featured a short and direct path with plenty to like.

Sam Diebel (2028, Saint Louis, Mo.) showed off some very projectable actions in the batters’ box. He had really good control of his hands and was able to get the ball in the air, matching planes with pitches to drive them. He showed impressive stuff during his round of BP that projects well moving forward.

Ryker Benz (2025, Saint Louis, Mo.) had a solid round of swings during his BP swings. The Oklahoma Sooners commit coils up and then rotates hard through contact with aggressive turns and strength off the barrel. Worked well pull-side with hard contact during his round of swings.

He also featured a straight change-up that was able to lock up hitters, and a developing cutter that was able to miss barrels.

Mitchell Bruce (2025 RHP, Moberly, MO) showed off his overwhelming fastball that was up to 86. Bruce also mixed in a mid- 70s change-up that was able to get hitter’s out in front.
