Preston Schimmel (2018 2B, Allen, TX) shows a nice and easy swing in the righthanded batter’s box that he’s able to repeat. He worked the middle of the field during his round with extension out front and line drive contact coming off the barrel, showing carry off the barrel with a contact approach.

Grant Roberts (2018 C, Garland, TX) has a strong 5-foot-10, 190-pound frame with which he’s able to impact the baseball when he gets the barrel through on time, creating whip through the zone with a long and fluid path showing jump off the barrel.

Mason Mays (2018 OF, Amarillo, TX) begins with a wide base in the box and shows nice quickness to his hands with the ability to create leverage out front. He shows interesting raw strength with solid carry off the barrel and projects for even more as he continues to get extended with his swing.

Hudson Wood (2018 RHP, Carrollton, TX) created some of the harder contact of the day when he barreled the ball up and the strength showed to all fields. His swing and very short and direct to the ball and he projects nicely with continued extension out front.

Bennett Laurence (2018 OF, Rockwall, TX) begins his swing with a leg lift trigger and he does a nice job of staying balanced while displaying a feel for the barrel as well. He shows nice bat speed and strength to his hands with which he’s able to create leverage on the contact to the middle of the field.

Cooper Wilson (2019 OF, Marble Falls, TX) has a strong 5-foot-9, 175-pound frame and uses that strength to generate bat speed while showing quickness to his hands and leverage to the path. He swings hard and shows nice potential with the bat.

DJ Garcia (2019 C, Corpus Christi, TX) has a strongly built 5-foot-8, 175-pound and he incorporates that strength well into his righthanded swing. The rising sophomore shows quickness to both his hands and barrel and the swing itself is pretty loose and easy while showing barreled contact to all parts of the field.

Dominic Johnson (2020 OF, Edmond, OK) hasn’t entered high school yet but he’s already making an impression with his righthanded swing as he shows solid bat speed and hand speed through the zone. He stays short to the ball and is able to repeat the swing with a feel for the barrel and consistent contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field.

Jose Gutierrez (2018 C, Arlington, TX) took perhaps the loudest round of batting practice the entire day with lots of quickness to his lefthanded swing. While there are timing triggers to the swing there’s plenty of bat speed coming through the zone with hard and loud contact coming off the barrel to the pull side.

Max Marusak (2018 SS, Amarillo, TX) is a recent Texas Tech commit and it’s easy to see why. After impressing during the drills portion yesterday the righthanded Marusak showed a nice swing in the box with a feel for the barrel and the ability to work all fields, turning it on at the end with hard jump to either gap with regular contact.

Hunter Bertrand (2018 1B,  Abbeville, LA) is listed at 6-foot-3, 180-pounds and takes his cuts from the right side where he showed a short path and a line drive swing plane. He projects nicely with additional extension to his swing as he’s already able to generate nice jump with loud, leveraged contact coming off the barrel.

Dalton Porter (2020 LHP, Cedar Park, TX) is just beginning his freshman year of high school and may be listed as a primary lefthanded pitcher but he also impressed with his lefthanded swing. Showing both looseness and fluidity to his stroke, Porter shows a line drive swing plane with intent to his swing and consistent contact to the pull side.

Robert Villa (2019 2B, Waco, TX) begins with a wide stance in the box and shows a short path to the ball with quickness to his hands in his lefthanded swing. He shows comfort working to all fields and also possesses a nice feel for the barrel while repeating his swing well pitch to pitch.

Blake Rambusch (2018 SS, Georgetown, TX) is a righthanded hitting middle infielder who impressed with the bat showing a full swing path with nice whip to the barrel through the zone. He was able to backspin line drive contact to both the middle and pull side parts of the field with nice jump off the barrel.

Nathen Fingar (2020 SS, Weatherford, TX) is a rising freshman shortstop who’s already listed at 6-foot-1, 165-pounds and showed some hand speed to his righthanded stroke. He stays short to the ball with his path and was able to generate carry to his line drive contact to the opposite field as well.

Zach Norris (2018 RHP, Paris, TX) is another young player who’s listed as a primary pitcher but impressed with the bat during batting practice. He shows nice quickness to his hands with solid bat speed and shows nice jump off the barrel, consistently working the middle of the field with solid line drive contact.

Eric Sheffield (2018 C, Ingleside, TX) showed off nice balance to his righthanded swing and was on time, showing strength off the barrel which included a home run to the pull side. There’s nice quickness to his hands and the ball comes off the barrel cleanly with solid present jump.

Rowan Arrant (2019 RHP, Nacogdoches, TX) impressed on the mound today with a nice fastball and he also showed off nice strength in the righthanded batter’s box, creating nice lift at the point of contact with nice bat speed and jump off of the barrel.

Casey Ouellette (2019 SS, Pflugerville, TX) has a long and projectable 6-foot-2, 158-pound frame and he does a nice job to uncoil into the point of contact. He gets the barrel to the ball with a line drive swing plane and creates contact to all fields with carry to the opposite field.

AJ Spinello (2018 C, Shawnee, KS) does a nice job of hitting the ball out front, showing both nice hand speed and quickness to his barrel. He’s on time with his leg lift with present jump off the barrel while projecting for more in the future.

Cody Vannoy (2018 C, Leander, TX) generates nice fluidity to his swing while showing quickness to his hands and creating leverage at the point of contact. He showed comfort hitting to the middle of the field with line drive contact coming off the barrel.

Kyte McDonald (2019 SS, Castroville, TX) stands at 5-foot-9, 170-pounds and the rising sophomore shows plenty of hand speed and quickness to his righthanded swing, creating solid line drive contact while showing a consistent feel for the barrel.

Jack Sigrist (2018 SS, Plano, TX) has an athletic look in the box as he stands 6-foot, 175-pounds and is listed as a primary shortstop. His swing path with short and direct and the barrel comes through the zone well while showing leverage and pop to his pull side, as evidenced by his home run towards the end of his round.

Chandler Arnold (2018 3B, Mesquite, TX) has a long and lean frame that projects nicely moving forward though he already has tools in the box. Staying short and direct with his swing, Arnold was able to create consistent contact to the middle of the field with looseness to his swing and feel for the barrel.
