2027 Top Prospects
Keagan Soliza  C - 2027 - Puyallup, WA
Hawaii

Soliza really impressive on both sides of the ball and on the mound. Ran a solid 7.18 60-yd dash. Defense up the middle and behind the plate stood out. Light feet and athleticism at SS with soft hands show early signs of him being able to stay up the middle. Behind the plate there’s solid catch/throw ability while also being a quality receiver. At the plate, he’s a switch hitter with a clean/balanced swing from both sides that played in-game as well with multiple barrels. With all of that he was one of the better arms on the mound too. Had solid control of a 3-pitch mix where he was up to 79 with a good operation while mixing a changeup and slider that both had quality shape. There’s advanced skill already and should be an intriguing follow as he gains strength/size.

Zachary Nelson  RHP - 2027 - Seattle, WA
Uncommitted

Nelson was one of the more physical and athletic players on the weekend. Ran the second best 60-yd dash of the group with a 7.06. In the outfield, he worked through the ball well with an advanced arm for his age while making accurate throws to the bag. At the plate, it’s a violent swing exhibiting present bat speed and an early ability to impact the baseball that translated in-game. Then, it was his performance on the mound where he had a showcase best 84 mph fastball he controlled well with advanced feel for a depthy changeup that provided most of his strikeouts and flashed a quality slider. It was a dominant three shutout inning outing.

Seika Saito  SS - 2027 - Issaquah, WA
Uncommitted

Saito showcased some present two-way ability. It’s a smaller frame but there’s some present athleticism there. Looked solid up the middle during his defensive workout where he worked low to the ground with quality glove actions and an accurate arm. Offensively, it was one of the better left-handed swings of the group. Kept it simple in his load keeping him balanced and worked the barrel on a flatter path through the zone. Was consistently on barrel in batting practice and produced some in-game barrels as well collecting a couple of line-drive knocks.

Noah Bailey  SS - 2027 - Ridgeville, SC
Uncommitted

Bailey had one of the more standout performances on the mound. Pitched two shutout innings and showed present stuff. His fastball had quality life working up to 80 mph producing consistently late swings and some whiffs up in the zone. The fastball paired well with a downer breaker that flashed sharpness in the upper 60s and that also induced some chase/whiff. The way he worked north/south with his fastball/curveball combo with intent was really impressive. Should be an intriguing arm to follow the next few years.

Chase Austin  OF - 2027 - Portland, OR
Oregon State

Austin is an easy player to be excited about. It’s a solid frame with present athleticism that showed with his event best 6.95 60-yd dash and in the outfield with his clean defensive actions where he worked quick to release with a strong and accurate arm. At the plate, the swing performed well in BP and in-game where his hands/barrel flashed some quickness and accuracy. On the mound, there is real upside where there’s present quickness to the arm that ran the fastball up to 79 from the left side while flashing a quality curveball that showed good downer break.

Marshall Tomlinson  C - 2027 - Post Falls, ID
Uncommitted

Tomlinson performed well behind the plate and on the mound. Tomlinson’s catch/throw ability stood out where he was tied for an event best pop-time of 2.00. The swing looks to play as well where he has a simple trigger and where his hands work short/compact to the baseball. On the mound, there’s some rawness to the operation but he worked up to 78 with his fastball with easy/natural armspeed. His breaking ball stood out where it was up to 2500+ rpms which should continue to trend up as velo gains happen.

Kell VanDehey  RHP - 2027 - Lake Oswego, OR
Uncommitted

VanDehey showed some raw yet present skill that leaves a lot of be excited about with his projectable 6-foot-1,165 pound frame. Was solid defensively at first base and pitched three shutout innings exhibiting some natural feel to pitch. His performance in-game at the plate stood out the most where he collected hits in three of his four games showing an all-fields approach and flashed an ability to manipulate the barrel where in one at bat he kept his hands in tight on an inside fastball and punched it into right for an line drive single while also flashing some impact in another at bat where he drove one into the left-center gap for a standup double.

Tanner Herdman  OF - 2027 - Silverdale, WA
Uncommitted

Herdman was another player who stood out with his in-game performance. Behind the plate, there’s solid catch/throw skill that showed up in-game with a caught stealing to second which was the only one on the weekend. At the plate, he collected three hits in his four games and each one was to a different part of the field showing some all-fields ability. It’s a simple swing where he gets his hands set to launch early and delivers the bat on a clean uphill path through the zone with some natural feel for the barrel.

2028 Top Prospects
Ian Westendorf  OF - 2028 - Newcastle, WA
Uncommitted

Westendorf was one of the better in-game bats on the weekend. Had a couple loud barrels showing off some advanced power for a ‘28 grad. One of them was when he dropped the barrel on a low-in fastball and drove it over the left fielder’s head. The next at bat he drove an outside fastball over the right fielder’s head flashing some opposite field power as well. He turns the barrel well on a slight uphill path with some good extension through the baseball. Defensively in the outfield, it’s clean actions where his throws were accurate and to the bag. He also jumped on the mound for two innings where he threw two shutout innings using a low-mid 70s fastball and mixed in a developing breaking ball he landed for strikes.

Noah Chong  3B - 2028 - Renton, WA
Uncommitted

Chong was solid in all facets throughout the weekend. Defensively at SS, he showed fundamental actions along with an arm that has above avg. strength for his class. At the plate, he collected three hits in four games. He has a relaxed and calm presence in the box. His loose/strong hands throw the barrel on a slight uphill path with extension through the middle. Had one of the louder barrels of the weekend with a double of the center fielder’s head. Also jumped on the mound for two shutout innings where he used a low-mid 70s fastball and a developing breaking ball he could flip in for strikes.
