2023 Top Prospects

Aden O’Donnell  RHP - 2023 - Bettendorf, IA
Illinois

O'Donnell was electric on the mound this weekend. The tall, athletic RHP ran the FB up to 88 MPH, showing some downhill tilt and ride through the zone. He also flashed above average secondary pitches. Should be one of the most sought after uncommitted 2023 arms in the Midwest.

Jackson Renz  RHP - 2023 - Lakeville, MN
Uncommitted

Renz had a dominant outing on the mound on Saturday. The FB reached as high as 85 MPH, spinning at a higher rate of 2322 RPMs. Renz also broke out a great curveball with good depth to it, spinning at 2247 RPMs.

Maddux Frese  SS - 2023 - Norway, IA
Southeastern CC

Frese is as versatile as them come on the field. The sure handed shortstop looked clean on the infield, showing off great range up the middle and carry on his throws to stay on the left side in the future. He also jumped on the mound and had a 3-pitch mix with great command and above average secondary offerings.

John Cain  OF - 2023 - Elkhorn, NE
Uncommitted

Cain is very "toolsy" as some would say. He posted big numbers in the workout section this weekend, running a 6.60 60yd dash and throwing 90 MPH from the outfield. He followed that up with some loud contact during BP and in the game portion. An under the radar type prospect right now who is starting to make a name for himself.

Cooper Philbrick  C - 2023 - Kansas City, MO
Hutchinson CC

Philbrick showed off a smooth left-handed stroke this weekend. The athletic catcher kept his hands inside nicely, and showed the ability to drive the ball the other way with power.

William Hess  3B - 2023 - Hartland, WI
St. Cloud State

Hess had a nice weekend at the Midwest Top Prospect Games. He ran the FB up to 84 MPH, spinning it at 2396 RPMs. Hess has a big frame with lots of strength, making him a very intriguing follow on the mound. He does some things really well, and it will be nice to follow his progress as the secondary pitches continue to develop.

2024 Top Prospects

Tyler Bell  SS - 2024 - Frankfort, IL
Kentucky

Bell was as well rounded as them come in a 2024 prospect. He impressed during the workout portion on Saturday morning, recording throws at 88 MPH with good carrying across the INF. He made numerous tough plays during the game portion as well, coming to get a high chopper and keeping control of his body to record the out. The LHH middle infielder has a great G2G approach with some advanced B2B skills in the box. Left very impressed with him this weekend.

Drew Rerick  RHP - 2024 - Fargo, ND
Texas A&M

Rerick was dominant this weekend on his time on the mound. The Missouri commit, racked up numerous strikeouts in his 3 innings of work. His FB reached as high as 89 MPH, sitting mostly in the upper-80's with ride through the top of the zone. His XL frame possess current strength and suggests that more velocity could be on the way in the future. Flashed an above average breaking ball at 2275 RPMs as well.

Kayden Anderson  SS - 2024 - Glenwood, IA
Nebraska

Anderson had a quality weekend here at the Midwest Top Prospect Games. The SS/RHP took a professional round of BP to start his weekend, where he showed great barrel control and ability to hit the ball to multiple sides of the field. He also showed some juice in his bat, where he laced a few very hard hit singles through the left side during the game portion. His arm is plenty strong enough to stick on the left side of the INF moving forward. Quality uncommitted 2024 SS here in Iowa.

Brendan Tunink  OF - 2024 - Oregon, IL
Notre Dame

Tunink had himself a day on Saturday. The LHH OF recorded three hits during the game portion of the showcase, including a double to down the opposite field line. He showed quick hands at the plate, with a great feel for the barrel. The hit tools are loud and continues to show why he is a name to follow in the 2024 class.

Boden Meier  RHP - 2024 - Fargo, ND
Iowa Western CC

Meier continued to ramp it up on the mound this weekend. The RHP got the FB up to 89 MPH with great control and downhill tilt. The North Dakota product, had a loud overall weekend as he handled the bat good as well. He laced a triple to deep CF in the game portion, showing off great extension and quality 2-way ability in his game.

Tyler Suttner  RHP - 2024 - Waukesha, WI
Iowa Central CC

Suttner oozes potential and this weekend was no different. The tall, lengthy RHP continues to build arm strength, running the FB up to 84 MPH with spin rates of 2328 RPMs. He relied mostly on his FB this weekend, flashing a late breaking 12/6 CB at 2217 RPMs. Really like the upside in Suttner's frame and athletic ability.

Matthew Stoltenberg  SS - 2024 - Hiawatha, IA
Kirkwood CC

Stoltenberg was solid all weekend long. He recorded the top INF velocity at 88 MPH, along with recording a 6.84 60yd dash. Stoltenberg has a lean, wiry frame with good laterally ability allowing him to make plays to either side from his SS position. He also showed a good feel for the barrel this weekend during his round of BP and live at-bats.

Gavin Darling  3B - 2024 - Lennon, MI
Mott CC

Darling was pretty consistent this weekend at the Midwest Top Prospect Games. He showed off good skills behind the plate, with soft hands receiving and a strong arm behind the plate on his throws. Darling also recorded multiple hits on the weekend, lacing a ball to LCF for a double. Doing a nice job of keeping his hands inside, and getting to extension.

Rocco Loffredo  RHP - 2024 - Stilwell, KS
Johnson County CC

Loffredo has plenty of physical projection to dream on in the lanky 6-foot-5, 175-pound frame. He ran his fastball up to 86 mph from the right side, and there is certainly more to unlock as he continues to develop.

2025 Top Prospects

Samuel Kemmer  SS - 2025 - Johnston, IA
Uncommitted

Kemmer was solid all weekend long. The 2025 grad, recorded INF throws at 83 MPH with some carry across and accuracy to first base. The frame and hit tools suggest that there is plenty of power to be had in Kemmer and he showed during that during the game portion. He laced a double down the LF line, where he was able to get the barrel head out in front and hook the ball down the line for a nice piece of hitting. More of a 3B profile right now, but there is a lot to like about his current game.

Clayton Green  RHP - 2025 - Broomfield, CO
Uncommitted

Green was impressive on his time on the mound this weekend for the Gold team. The RHP/1B ran the FB up to 86 MPH with great ride through the zone and command of his FB. He also spun the breaking ball at 71 MPH, and 1873 RPMs. He handled the bat well during the game portion as well finding good barrels across the field. High upside arm and frame.

Gavin Triezenberg  SS - 2025 - Palos Heights, IL
Arizona

Triezenberg is a talented young prospect who showed well on both sides of the ball in this one. He is a fluid and athletic mover with great feel for the glove at shortstop, and he has a smooth right-handed swing with a balanced approach.

Kaden Alstad  3B - 2025 - Decorah, IA
Uncommitted

Alstad had a nice weekend and made his pressence known in the 2025 class. He showed off an easy swing with strong hands, allowing him to get to numerous different pitches across the plate. A young prospect who certainly had a nice overall weekend.

2026 Top Prospects

Kingston Kost  3B - 2026 - Des Moines, IA
Uncommitted

Kost is a physical young prospect with good upside in the box. Standing at 6-foot-3, 190-pounds, Kost has definite power potential in his right-handed swing. He put a charge in a couple of balls during BP, showcasing the ability to drive the ball to his pull side with authority.
