David Auw (2022 RHP, Lemont, IL) Auw proved to be confident in his arsenal on the mound. Fastball up to 82 mph and a sharp slider to go with it. Knows how to miss barrels and proved just that today. Went 2.0 innings pitched with three strikeouts on no hits.
Bryon Rincones (2022 RHP, Oranjestad, AA) Rincones flashed a power type arm as he went right after hitters with a fastball up to 87 mph. Mixed in a sharp 11-to-5 breaking ball as well. Mixed it up and proved to be composed on the hill. Upside here present going forward.
Lucas Tirado (2022 LHP, Miami, FL) Tirado ran into a fastball and singled to the pull-side. Easy, fluid cut as he makes it look easy. Sees spin out of hand early and makes solid adjustments on the fly. Aggressive on base paths as he later went on to steal a bag.
Brian Portillo (2022 2B, Chicago, IL) Portello proved to have some feel in the box as he sat back on an outer half fastball and drove it deep to rightfield for a sac fly. Easy power and projects as such down the road.
Carson Chandler (2022 RHP, New Albany, IN) Chandler is projectable to say the least on the hill standing at a slender 6-foot-3. Easy arm action as he pounded the zone with a low-80’s fastball. Secondary pitches proving to be advanced with a sharp 11-to-5 breaker and a nasty fading changeup. Struck out six on no hits in his 2 innings of work.
Jean Santos (2022 SS, Kissimmee, FL) Santos looked great in the box as he found the barrel in every at-bat. He lined out to rightfield in his first at-bat. Later showed off the patience as he drove a low and away pitch to leftfield for a single.
Keaton Ference (2022 OF, Wesley Chapel, FL) Ference is a physical prospect who puts that strength to good use in the box. Short, violent cut as he generates backspin while driving it deep into the gaps. Smoked one over the shortstops head for a standup double in the left-center gap. Doubled for the second time later in the game as well. Showed off another tool with the speed as he cruised around the paths.
Derek Yahel Rodriguez (2022 OF, Coral Springs, FL) Rodriguez could make the argument as having one of the best outings of the day. Quick arm as the right-hander was up to 85 mph. Also mixed in a sharp 11-to-5 breaking ball that got some knee buckles.
Anthony Torres (2022 C, Miami, FL) Torres impressed in the box as the right-handed stick swung it with intent to do damage. Racked up a pair of singles to the pull-side during the action. Both baseballs were sharply hit. Ran well on paths as well.
Hecxiel Perez (2022 C, Sabana Grande, PR) ended the day with a bang as he doubled into the right-center gap while knocking in a pair of runs. Does a good job using the lower have as he drives it with authority.
