3-Gold v. 4-Green Game Highlights

8/29/2021

Nicholas Barone (2022 1B, Shirley, NY) continued to show off the ability to impact the baseball with authority, launching a deep double to centerfield. The long, lean first baseman creates a ton of leverage out in front and delivers the barrel with quickness to his hands.

Jack Williams (2024 OF, Katonah, NY) had himself a good day at the plate, collecting two hits in this one. He stays short and direct to the baseball, while displaying loose wrists and some whip to his barrel.

Andrew Reda (2022 MIF, Warwick, NY) displayed some power potential, scorching a loud RBI double to left centerfield. The uncommitted 2022 Grad exhibits good usage of his lower half and turns the barrel with quickness.

Max Jarvie (2024 RHP, Wilton, CT) displayed a solid overall hit tool with good feel for the barrel and good length through contact. He incorporates a simple, direct swing with loose, quick wrists and plenty of bat speed. He collected three hits in this one, including an RBI triple to left centerfield.

Stephen Ierides (2023 C, Seaford, NY) showed off his offensive prowess in this one, collecting two hits including an RBI double. The 2023 catcher uses a compact stroke with an inside-hand path and good hand-eye coordination

Jacob Guzman (2022 RHP, Yonkers, NY) was impressive in his three innings, as the compactly built right-hander allowed just 2 hits, no runs and struck out seven. He worked exclusively from the stretch, coiling into balance and worked into a short, compact arm action. He ran his fastball up to 82 mph, with good command of the outer half. He mixed in an 11-5 shaped curveball that flashed some downer action to it.

Danny Carr (2024 C, Paoli, PA) showed some intriguing arm talent, as he ran his fastball up to 83 mph and flashed a solid aptitude to spin the baseball. The long, lean right-hander pounded the strike zone, repeats well and displayed some downhill plane to his fastball. He mixed in a sharp biting slider with both horizontal and vertical tilt to it. The 2024 Grad has plenty of projection remaining and should continue to add more velocity long-term.

Batting Practice Highlights

8/28/2021

Tyler Kisling (2024 OF, New Milford, CT) displayed a simple, repeatable stroke to impact the baseball to all fields. The athletically built outfielder uses good lower half movements into contact and has looseness to his hands and wrists. Kisling has gap-to-gap power potential, as he creates good backspin and delivers the barrel with authority.

Michael Olender (2024 OF, Flemington, NJ) displayed an impressive present overall hit tool with tons of power potential and a quick bat. He incorporates a leveraged stroke with good lower half torque and quickness to his hands, delivering the barrel quickly to produce loud impact to all fields. He stays short and direct to the baseball, while creating length out in front and tons of present bat speed.

Danny Carr (2024 C, Paoli, PA) displayed the propensity to find the barrel often throughout his round, as he uses a slightly lofted stroke with loads of bat speed to impact the baseball. The strong, durably built catcher uses a strong lower half and loose hands to create whip to his barrel.

Nicholas Barone (2022 1B, Shirley, NY) was extremely consistent during his round, as he displays advanced bat-to-ball skills and quickness to his hands. The long, lean right-handed hitting first baseman stays through the middle-of-the field and flashed gap-to-gap power potential.

Sean Penalver (2022 OF, Brentwood, NY) was extremely consistent throughout his round, flashing a compact swing and plenty of present bat speed. He stays through the baseball and produced well-struck line drives to all fields with good carry through the gaps. The simplicity and directness of his swing path allow for him to short to the baseball and create loud impact frequently.

3-Gold vs 4-Green Game Highlights

8/28/2021

Felix Gonzalez (2023 C, Nutley, NJ) put together a stat line on the day, going 2-3 with an RBI and consistent disciplined AB’s. He showed the clear ability to stay back on off speed well, using solid weight shift to rope line drives from gap to gap successfully.

Tyler Kisling (2024 OF, New Milford, CT) was a threat on both sides of the ball, touching 80 mph on the bump while striking out 3 in 2 IP and also driving a double to the wall displaying obvious pull side power. He used great lower half rotation to explode the barrel through the zone and ran the bases effectively.

Matthew Tsoilis (2022 1B, Syosset, NY) showcased the ability to use all parts of the field on the day, spraying line drives gap to gap with no true weakness in the swing. He displayed a level bat path through the zone and consistently got the barrel out in front.

Michael Olender (2024 OF, Flemington, NJ) made the most of his plate appearances, picking up two singles with a simple repeatable line drive approach. He constantly used the middle of the field and didn’t try to do too much with the pitches given to him.

Alexander Baaden (2024 OF, Islip, NY) picked up two knocks on the day as well, repeatedly flashing loud contact back up the middle. Once on the bases, he used his lightning speed to create havoc and disrupt opposing pitchers any chance he got.
