Charles Smith (2023, Peachtree Corners, Ga.) earned the start and helped solidify an early lead as he filled the zone with his mix and worked ahead of the majority of the hitters he faced. With a keen windup and flexible release down the mound he filled the zone over 70% with his repertoire, striking out three and stranding a hit. Smith showcased a mix of a fastball up to 81 mph with life and run, a changeup with sell and fade, and a curveball in the 60’s with proper shape that garnered a lot of swing and miss.
Garrett Sanders (2024, Lexington, S.C.) entered the game in a relief appearance and kept up the pace with keen, upbeat mechanics on the mound that helped him fill the zone nearly 60%. Sanders stranded two hits and struck out seven. Garrett used a fastball with life and run up to 80 mph, a changeup with fade in the low-60’s, and a curveball in the upper 60’s that created swing-and-miss and displayed nice shape.
Shane Carroll (2023, Cumming, Ga.) displayed advanced hand-eye coordination and feel for the barrel on the way to a 2-for-3 day driving a ball over the left field wall for a Home Run. Possesses twitch in the box and ability to turn it loose while still adjusting to off speed. Advance feel in the box, helped him hit the ball where it’s pitched all game long. On the bases, Carroll moves very well with underway speed, aggression, and evident athleticism.
Spence Coffman (2022, Corinth, Miss.) Showcased his ability to create loft and carry with the barrel during AB #3 when he connected on a fastball and drove the ball to the fence. Generates good bat speed and twitch in the box, that projects well moving forward. Ability to make all plays at shortstop as well with strong accurate throws across the diamond. Actions worked well all over the field.
Bryson Evans - (2023, Pendergass, Ga.) worked two innings where he escaped hitless and recorded a strikeout. Displayed upbeat, balanced mechanics, and used it well to fill the zone two-thirds of the time. Displayed a repertoire of a fastball into the mid-70’s, with arm-side-run, and a curveball in the 60’s, he was able to locate for strikes. Worked quick on the mound and filled the zone with good control of his mix, needing just fifteen pitches to complete his assignment.
Jimmy Keneck - (2023, Milton, Ga.) showcased his hitability when he connected on a fastball sending a hard hit result deep to the pull side gap for a double. A good athlete, tools translate to the infield as well as he has range and feel for the leather. Jimmy’s throws across the diamond had carry and accuracy as well, with ability to throw out the better runners in the group.
Zach Sinner - (2023, Nolensville, Tenn.) performed in all facets today as he connected on a double during one of his two at-bats. With ability to go gap to gap, Sinner moved well on the bases with acumen and aggression. Zach would appear on the mound as well and would record two of the three outs he needed via the strikeout. On the mound, Sinner used his athleticism to work down the mound, and get over his front side well, helping him fill the zone with his mix. To navigate his inning of work he would showcase a fastball in the upper 70’s, high of 77-mph, and a curveball in the upper 60’s, high of 70’s.
