12 Red vs. 18 White Game Highlights

8/16/2015

Michael Siano (2018 Queensbury, NY) smoked two opposite field doubles, one to lead off the game.  The big lefty showed raw power at the plate and showed the ability to hit the outside pitch hard.

Scott Ziegler (2017 Simsbury, CT) had an RBI double in the 3rd for the Red team.  Ziegler was short and sweet to the ball with line drive swing path.

Dave Yankowski (2018 Valatie, NY) was good for a couple hits including a double.  Also did a nice job in the mound tossing 3 scoreless innings topping out at 81 MPH.   Yankowski has some raw power that should continue to improve as he gets older.

Danny Serretti (Berkeley Heights, NJ) hit a double in the 4th and later scored.  Serretti has a middle of the field approach and is very short and quick to the ball.

Michael Rounds (2017 Milton, MA) had an easy double in the 6th for the White team.  Rounds has impressive bat speed and some solid pull side power. 

Jake Archer (2017 New York, NY)  sat 80-83 MPH with a sharp breaking ball with good depth.   In his 3 innings of work, he did not surrender a run or even a hit.

John “Jack” Wallace (2017 Winthrop, MA) threw three innings of scorelss baseball to continue the dominant pitching performance by the Red team.  Wallace sat 84-86 MPH and had a sharp slider. 

Mike Doherty (2018 Sandwich, MA) has a very projectable frame on the mound sitting 6’3” 175 lbs.  Doherty ws up to 84 MPH and did a nice job of keeping hitters off balance.  


7- Teal Vs. 15- Teal

Justin Olson (2017 RHP, Avon, CT) sat 80-83 with his fastball topping out at 84mph that he mixes in with a curveball at 63mph and a slider at 71mph. Olson has a smooth repeatable delivery a quick arm action and he pitches with good tempo on the mound. 

William Gersky (2018 RHP, Woodbury, CT) sat 77-82mph with his fastball topping out at 83mph to go with his slider at 73mph. Gersky has a short compact delivery with a loose arm action that works well and projects to gain velocity as he gets older. At the plate Gersky had 2 doubles in the game for the Kelly Green team. Gersky has lots of pop in his bat with good bat speed and is a 2-way guy to continue to follow. 

Joe Miller (2018 OF, Hatboro, PA) sat 83-85mph on his fastball with his curveball at 68mph. Miller attacks hitters with his fastball has good depth to his curveball and showed good command of both pitches. 

Sean Wills (2018 MIF, Mountain Top, PA) had 2 hits in the game for the Kelly Green team this afternoon. Wills has nice easy mechanics at the plate with a good swing. 

Andrew Cossetti (2018 C, Eagleville, PA) also had a couple of hits in the game for the Kelly Green team. Cossetti has great bat speed while squaring the ball up and had one of the balls he put in play come off the bat at 92mph. 

Matt Shilling (2017 SS, Blue Bell, PA) had 3 hits for the Kelly Green team including a triple. Shilling has good barrel control at the plate with a sound hitting approach and hits the ball to all fields. 

Nathan Curley (2017 2B, Readville, MA) had a couple of singles for the Kelly Green team. Curley has a confident approach at the plate with a short swing and makes consistent contact. 

Nick Dziuba (2018 RHP, Shamong, NJ) had 2 hits in the game as well for the Kelly Green team. Dziuba hits the ball to all fields displaying bat speed. 

Sammy Siani (2019 OF, Glenside, PA) made hard contact all day at the plate today. Siani has good bat speed driving the ball to the gaps and is a player to continue to follow. 

13- Royal Vs. 16- Tx. Orange Highlights

Owen Batchelder (2017 LHP, Amherst, NH) sat 80-85mph on his fastball today with his curveball at 67mph. Batchelder pounds the strike zone with both pitches with a quick arm action and the ball comes out clean. 

Ben Delaubell (2018 RHP, Cheshire, CT) topped out at 82mph on his fastball to go along with his curveball at 69mph and his changeup at 72mph. Delaubell has sink to his fastball with good depth on his curveball and throws all 3 of his pitches for strikes. 

Liam McGill (2016 C, Wakefield, RI) had a double in the game for the TX. Orange team. McGill does a good job of turning on a fastball and has a line drive swing plane.

Cam Roberts (2018 LHP, Leominster, MA) made solid contact at the plate this afternoon. Roberts had one of the balls come off his bat at 84mph. He a confident approach at the plate with a level swing. 

Jared Turner (2017 C, Tuckahoe, NY) had a good day at the plate today as well. Turner does a good job of staying inside the baseball with quick hands and had one of the balls in play come off his bat at 91mph. 

9- Navy Vs. 14- Steel

Dylan Presnal (2017 RHP, Ludlow, MA) topped out at 86mph on his fastball to go along with his curveball at 70mph and his changeup at 72mph. Presnal has good arm speed with a good arm action and good depth to his curveball. 

John Barone (2017 RHP, Wayne, NJ) topped out at 82mph on his fastball to go along with a curveball at 71mph and his changeup at 72mph. Barone pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with good arm speed displaying good command of his pitches and mixing them in well to keep hitters off balance. 

Evan Sleight (2019 OF, Framingham, MA) had 2 hits in the game for the Steel team including a triple and a double. Sleight squares the ball up consistently with a level swing and showing off his bat speed. 

Trevor Schifferdecker (2018 C, Southborough, MA) had 2 hits in the game for the Steel team. Schifferdecker has a confident approach at the plate and is a gap to gap hitter with pop. 

Justin Files (2017 OF, Braintree, MA) had 2 hits in the game for the Navy team including a triple. Files is a good base runner with a nice easy swing and makes hard consistent contact at the plate. 

8- Maroon Vs. 11- Purple

Corey Diloreto (2017 OF, Reading, MA) sat 77-81mph topping out at 82mph to go along with his curveball. Diloreto pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with an online delivery attacking hitters with his fastball and has good depth to his curveball. 

Nick Sinacola (2018 SS, North Attleboro, MA) had a good day at the plate today. Sinacola squared the ball up both times at the plate with a line drive swing plane and good bat speed. 

Kendal Heath (2018 RHP, Charlestown, NH) topped out at 82mph on his fastball to go along with his curveball at 67mph. Heath pitches from a tight 3/4 arm slot getting good extension out front and stays tall on his backside. 

Collin Vincent (2018 RHP, Shelburne, VT) had 3 hits in the game for the Purple team today. Vincent has an aggressive approach at the plate with the pop in his bat. 

Evan Callahan (2017 RHP, Bethlehem, PA) had 2 hits in the game for the Purple team. Callahan has a line drive swing plane with bat speed. 

Ian Ostberg (2017 SS, Florence, MA) had 2 singles in the game for the Purple team. Ostberg has a contact approach with a good swing and drives the ball to the gaps. 

17 Vegas vs 10-Orange

Caleb Broughton (2017 West Labanon, NH) had good pop off the bat generating solid lift after contact for a ground rule double in the 8th.  Broughton starts with a high hand set and looks to drive the ball to the middle of the field.

Miles Kelly (2017 Mattituck, NY) was one of the few players with a two hit game.  Kelly had consistently hard barrels on the day and has a very projectable frame standing 6’2” 210 lbs. 

Aiden Pleterski (2017 Whitby, ON) led the orange team offense in the home half of the first with a leadoff double.  Pleterski is short and quick to the ball and showed good speed on the basepaths.

Patrick Rauseo (2017 Hudson, NH) had good extension on the baseball up in the zone.  Rauseo has a line drive swing plane and looks to shoot the ball back up the middle.

Jason Hebner (2017 Newton, CT) tossed 3 strong innings for the Orange team striking out 5 batters in 3 innings of work.  Hebner’s fastball was up to 81 MPH and had good depth on his 12/6 curveball.  Projectable frame at 6’2” with long limbs, plenty of room to fill out. 

Andrew DeRubertis (2017 Pearl River, NY)  athletic build and good mound presence, DeRubertis sat 82-85 MPH topping 75 MPH on his curveball.  DeRubertis had good mound presence and a high tempo consistently pounding the strike zone in a quick 3 innings of work.

Jake Sanderson (2018 Burlington, MA) throws from a ¾ arm slot with good run on his fasball.  His changeup has good late bite.  Did a nice job of mixing location and pitches.

James Tyminski (2017 Bayonne, NY) had a couple base hits for the orange team.  Tyminski showed good bat speed and hard contact when barreled up.

Anthony Guarino (Hackensack, NJ) strong arm behind the dish, was good for throwing at a handful of runners on the day.  Guarino took the control of the game behind the plate displaying quick feet and blocked everything in the dirt.

Ryan Hernandez (2017 Hyde Park, MA) big presence in the box with really good bat speed.  Present strength in his swing and hits the ball with authority when barreled.

Kyle Smith (2017 Lawrenceville, NJ) was very deceptive in his 3 innings of work.  Excellent command of his pitches and mixed pitches regularly missed barrels.  


NE Underclass Batting Practice Highlights

8/15/2015

Sammy Siani (2019 OF, Glenside, PA): Showed projectable hitting tools with present contact ability and legitimate power potential. Consistently barreled the ball up with leverage and strength. 

Joe Miller (2018 OF, Hatboro, PA): Leg lift trigger with solid bat speed, swing is lofted and leveraged with projectable power potential and hitting ability. 

Andrew Cossetti (2018 C, Eagleville, PA): Consistently barreled the ball up with strength and solid bat speed. Leveraged swing with present power and projects for even more. High level hitter. 

Nick Finno (2019 2B, Burlington, CT): Did a good job shifting his weight well into contact with consistent barrel skills and good, quick hands. 

Zeke O'Connell (2018 RHP/OF, Waban, MA): Showed lofted swing with simple load mechanism and quick hands through the zone, projects for more power as well. 

Andrew Knight (2017 C, New Canaan, CT): Very quick hands with hard, leveraged contact and consistently strong barrel control. 

Jack Ryan (2018 RHP, Briarcliff Manor, NY): Showed above-average timing mechanics, was consistently squaring the ball up with a quick bat and advanced contact ability. 

Cabot Maher (2018 OF, Barrington, RI): Well-built, shows good approach, big strength off the barrel with hard, squared contact throughout round. 

Mark Coley (2018 SS, Bloomfield, CT): Showed quick hands and strong wrists throughout round with good bat speed and strength off the barrel. 

Aiden Pleterski (2017 C, Whitby, ON): Showed clean, quick hands with a whole-field, line drive approach. Solid bat speed, sprayed line drives to all fields. 

Miles Kelly (2017 1B, Mattituck, NY): Showed some of the best power, and power potential, of the day; consistently driving the ball in the air deep to the pull field. Very strong with excellent bat speed and leverage. 

Kai Nelson (2017 OF, New York, NY): Excellent shift into contact with excellent bat speed, impressive jump off the barrel with high end hitting and power tools. 

Jordan Laske (2017 C, Wethersfield, CT): Showed smooth stroke with advanced hand eye coordination and barrel control, making consistent line drive contact. 

Sal Frelick (2018 SS, Lexington, MA): Simple load and shift into contact, squared up line drives too all fields with good strength off the barrel and projectable power, hitting HR to pull field in BP. 

Ian Ostberg (2017 SS, Florence, MA): Quick hands with jump off the barrel, consistent line drive contact, projects for more power with physical development. 

Ryan Callahan (2018 3B, Newton, NJ): Impressive strength and bat speed from both sides; highly leveraged with legitimate power from both sides. HR power right now with more coming. 

Collin Vincent (2018 RHP, Shelburne, VT): Good hands with solid bat speed, quality contact approach with spray line drive contact. 

Derek Freed (2017 SS, Souderton, PA): Very good feel for the barrel with quick hands and a line drive approach. Highly projectable bat and physicality. 

Jared Turner (2017 C, Tuckahoe, NY): Big time strength off barrel, swings hard and doesn't get cheated, consistent hard contact with leverage and power. 

Daniel Shubert (2017 1B, Ambler, PA): Legitimate strength off the barrel with power to all fields when timed up, shows leverage in swing and projects for more power moving forward as well. 

Mike Siani (2018 OF, Glenside, PA): Big stride into contact with excellent bat speed and legitimate power already, projects for even more, outstanding lower half torque to generate power. 

August Samek (2017 2B, Teaneck, NJ): Made consistently hard, line drive contact with big jump off the barrel. Quick hands with good bat speed, bat and power both project well. 

Nathan Scheer (2017 RHP, Norwich, NY): Showed short, quick swing with good hands and consistently solid line drive contact. 

Elias Gross (2017 SS, Bethlehem, PA): Quality projectable frame/build, gets off his backside well with good shift into contact, shows strength off the barrel. 

John Barone (2017 RHP, Wayne, NJ): Rhythmic hitter with solid hands and bat speed, can drive the ball on a line. 

Will Jennings (2018 OF, Mountainside, NJ): Smooth stroke with mid-field approach, jump off the barrel with consistent line drives. 

Leif Bigelow (2018 RHP, Battleboro, VT): Leg lift trigger with smooth stroke, quality hands, and good bat speed. Line drive approach with some strength off the barrel and more coming. 

Liam McGill (2016 C, Wakefield, RI): Gets off backside well with good shift into strong, line drive contact from solid bat speed and good strength in swing. 

Ben Delaubell (2018 RHP, Cheshire, CT): Very strong with smooth, easy stroke and above-average bat speed generating consistent hard contact.

Michael Rounds (2017 RHP, Milton, MA): Big stride into contact with very good bat speed and hand quickness, showed consistent line drive contact to all fields with more power to come. 

Connor Mulligan (2017 OF, Reading, MA): Very short to the ball with quick hands and strong wrists, simple approach with line drive contact up the middle, consistently squared.

Cam Roberts (2018 LHP, Leominster, MA) had his fastball sitting 74-79mph to go along with a curveball at 67mph and his changeup at 73mph. Roberts has a quick arm with a compact delivery and does a good job of mixing his pitches.

Mike Siani (2018 OF, Glenside, PA) sat 85-87mph on his fastball with his curveball at 75mph. Siani has a fast arm with a feel for his curveball and does a good job of locating his pitches. At the plate Siani has a patient approach with excellent bat speed and makes hard contact.

Daniel Shubert (2017 1B, Ambler, PA) had a good showing at the plate today for the Royal team including hitting a double. Shubert has a direct bat path with good bat speed and had his double come off the bat at 92mph. 

Ryan Sholtis (2017 RHP, Winsted, CT) sat 76-80mph on his fastball to go along with his curveball at 66mph and his changeup at 73mph. 

Joe Biancone (2019 SS, Waccabuc, NY) had 2 hits in the game for the Steel team. Biancone has a line drive swing plane with good bat speed. 

Cameron Brooks (2017 2B, Northborough, MA) also had 2 singles in the game for the Steel team. Brooks has a confident approach at the plate with a short compact swing. 

Michael Osorio (2016 OF, Bronx, NY) had 2 singles in the game for the Steel team. Osorio makes consistent contact at the plate with a nice easy swing.

Dante Taylor (2019 SS, Newton, MA) reached base twice today for the Teal team this evening. Taylor has a short quick swing with a confident approach at the plate. 

August Samek (2017 2B, Teaneck, NJ) also reached base twice today for the Teal team. Samek has an aggressive approach at the plate with a level swing, 

Jackson Emus (2018 RHP, Hopedale, MA) had 2 hits in the game for the Teal team including a double. Emus has a short compact swing with bat speed and pop in his bat. 

Leif Bigelow (2018 RHP, Battleboro, VT) had 2 hits in the game for the Texas Orange team today. Bigelow has a nice easy approach at the plate with simple swing mechanics. 

Luke Broadhurst (2017 SS, Stafford Springs, CT) had 2 hits in the game as well for the Texas Orange team today. Broadhurst has quick wrists with an aggressive approach and has bat speed. 

Liam McGill (2016 C, Wakefield, RI) had 2 hits in the game for the Tx. Orange team. McGill has an aggressive approach at the plate and makes consistent contact at the plate.

Zach Gilbert (2017 LHP, Whitehall, PA) sat 74-80mph on his fastball with his curveball at 689mph. Gilbert has a nice projectable frame with a short arm action with a good feel for his curveball and fills up the strike zone. 

Matthew Butigian (2017 2B, Plainview, NY) had 2 hits in the game for the Orange team including a double. Butigian displayed good bat speed at the plate with good swing plane and stays inside the ball well. 

Ryan Cusick (2018 RHP, Sudbury, MA) was sitting 79-84mph on his fastball with his curveball at 73mph and his changeup at 71mph. Cusick has a projectable frame pitching from a low 3/4 arm slot and a good feel for his curveball. 

Ryan Solimine (2018 RHP, Danbury, CT) had 2 hits in the game for the Navy team with a double and a Home Run. Solimine has excellent bat speed with a short direct path to the ball with good extension. 

Justin Files (2017 OF, Braintree, MA) had 2 hits in the game for the Navy team. Files makes hard contact at the plate with good bat speed and has a short compact swing. 

11- Purple Vs. 12- Red Highlights

Mike Vasil (2018 RHP, Wellesley, MA) sat 82-86mph on his fastball to go along with his curveball at 68mph and his slider at 73mph. Vasil has a quick short arm action and the ball jumps out of his hand. Vasil has an easy repeatable delivery with a good fastball that gets on hitters quick and projects more velocity.  

Jordan Laske (2017 C, Wethersfield, CT) had 2 hits in the game for the Red team. Laske takes an aggressive swing at the plate with bat speed and makes hard contact.

Ian Ostberg (2017 SS, Florence, MA) had a couple of hits in the game for the Purple team including a double. Ostberg has pop in his bat with an aggressive approach and showed good plate coverage. 


Vegas Gold vs. White Game Highlights

John Maffei (2017 Hingham, MA) shot the gap early for an easy double to left center field.

Michael Rounds (2017 Milton, MA) got extended on a ball driving the ball to left center field.  Also did a solid job on the mound, tossing 4 scoreless innings while facing the minimum. 

Mike Doherty (2018 Sandwich, MA) led off the third inning with a hard double down the left field line.

Ryan Kircher (2018 Pittsburgh, PA) threw 3 pitches for strikes including a tight slider in his dominant 4 innings of work.  Topped out at 81 MPH.

Brian Hart (2018 Saratoga Springs, NY) crushed a ball over the centerfielder’s head in the second inning on a ball up in the zone.

Alex Reimold (2017 Woodbury, CT) double was the start of a big 3 run inning for the Vegas Gold team.

Mason Vaughn (2018 Endicott, NY) smashed a ball to the wall cruising into 3rd base for a triple.

Connor Mulligan (2017 Reading, MA) struck out the side mixing his two pitches well in his 1 inning of work. Fastball was up to 80 MPH.

Jacob Armstrong (2018 Kingston, MA) had two base hits. Armstrong is a big kid with a lot of strength in his swing.  


7- Kelly Vs. 8- Maroon

8/15/2015

Lucas Deslauriers (2017 RHP, Jamestown, RI) topped out at 81mph this afternoon with his curveball at 67mph and his changeup at 73mph. Deslauriers has a smooth repeatable delivery with an arm that works well pitching from a low 3/4 arm slot. He does a good job of maintaining his arm speed on his changeup with good depth and arm side run to it. 

Josh Petrucci (2017 3B, Medfield, MA) had 2 hits in the game for the Maroon team. Petrucci has a short swing with good plate coverage and displays bat speed. 

Jack Tishman (2018 RHP, Wellesley, MA) sat 77-81mph on his fastball to go along with his changeup at 71mph. Tishman pitches from an extended low 3/4 arm slot with an online delivery and good arm speed. Tishman has good sink and run on his fastball and fills up the strike zone. 

Josh Eastman (2017 RHP, Marshfield, MA) sat at 79-83mph with his fastball to go with his slider at 73mph and a knuckleball at 67mph. Eastman smooth repeatable online delivery with good leg drive. Eastman does a good job of pitching down in the zone getting a lot of groundballs and a sharp sweeping slider. 

Jack Pawloski (2018 LHP, Lexington, MA) had 2 singles in the game for the Kelly Green team. Pawloski has an athletic build with a sound approach at the plate and a live bat. 

Sean Wills (2018 3B, Mountain Top, PA) had 2 singles in the game for the Kelly Green team. Wills has an aggressive approach at the plate with a quick bat and makes consistent hard contact.
