Late Rally Gives Reds 2-1 Win

After trailing most of the game, the Reds Midwest Scout Team scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat PG Iowa Steel. 
Ethan Skender, (2015, Metamora, IL), a Kansas State commit, was the hero for the Reds Midwest Scout Team as he drove in both runs and had a double. Cal Coughlin, (2016, Carmel, IL) pitched six innings, allowing one unearned run on six hits while striking out five. 
Nicholas Mougin, (2016, Prairie, IA) pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out four. 

Early Lead Helps Reds Win 8-2

An early lead helped the Reds Midwest Scout Team win over Iowa Select Black by a score of 8-2. 
Cal Coughlin, (2016, Carmel, IL) had two singles, one RBI and a run scored. Ethan Skender, (2015, Metamora, IL), a Kansas State commit, had a double plus two RBIs and a run scored. Starting pitcher Jordan Johnston, (2015, Lockport Township East, IL) pitched five innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits while striking out six. 
Lead off hitter Kevin DeLaney, (2015, Iowa City West, IA) led his team's offense with two singles and one RBI.

PG Iowa Steel scored a run in the bottom of the 7th inning to defeat Force Elite Baseball by a score of 4-3. 
Nicholas Mougin, (2016, Prairie,IA) had a single, a double, one RBI and two runs scored. Tyler Roeder, (2016, Jefferson, IA) added two singles plus one RBI and Maverick Miller, (2017, Marion, IA) two doubles and one run scored. Payton Raso, (2015, Regina, IA) pitched five solid innings, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out four. 
Ryan Stumpf, (2015, Lincoln-Way East, IL) was equally impressive on the mound for Force Elite Baseball as he pitched five innings, only allowing two runs on five hits while striking out four. Angel Torres, (2016, St Charles North, IL) and Alex Tassos, (2016, Benet Academy, IL) each had a double, a run scored and one RBI to lead their offense. 

Force Elite Beats Dirtbags 5-2

Force Elite Baseball defeated the Illinois Dirtbags 5-2 using an all-around team effort. 
Connor Cook, (2016, Lake Park, IL) was the offensive leader going 2-3 with a single, a double, one RBI, a walk and a run scored. Alex Tassos, (2016, Benet Academy, IL) added a single, one RBI and a run scored. Carter Johnson, (2016, Timothy Christian, IL) pitched six innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits while striking out seven. 
Michael Cruise, (2015, Dundee-Crown, IL) was the offensive leader going 2-3 with two singles and teammate Riley Alvarado, (2015, Dundee-Crown, IL) added a double, one RBI and a run. Pierce Albright, (2015, Huntley, IL) pitched 2.1 innings, only allowing one run on one hit while striking out two. 

Early Advantage Propels Reds to 5-1 Win

The Reds Midwest Scout Team jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after the third inning and held onto win by a score of 5-1.
Brandon Krennrich, (2015, Johnsburg, IL) was the offensive leader with two doubles, two RBIs and one run scored. Mitch Boe, (2015 Joliet Catholic, IL) an Iowa commit, added a single, one RBI and one run scored. Ty Shoaff, (2015, Walsh Jesuit, OH), a Missouri commit, pitched five innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out six. 
Devin Platts, (2015, Ankeny, IA) was the offensive leader with a home run, single and one RBI. Brady Corson, (2015, Cedar Falls, IA) pitched five innings, allowing five runs, four earned, on six hits and struck out four.

Prodigy Baseball defeated PoundTown Baseball by a score of 6-3. 
Kaleb Reid, (2015, Smithville, MO) had a single, one RBI and a run scored while teammate John Chacon, (2015, Park Hill South, MO) had a single and one RBI. Matthew Ludwig, (2015, Staley, MO) pitched innings, allowing three runs, no earned, on six hits while striking out three. 
Nick Cafaro, (2015, Marquette University, WI) and Zakary Felkner, (2015, Arrowhead, WI) each had a single and one RBI. 

PoundTown Baseball Wins 7-0

Backed by a solid pitching performance and good hitting, Poundtown Baseball 17U beat Rhino Baseball 7-0. 
Tyler Becker, (2016, Menomonee Falls, WI) pitched a complete game shutout, only allowing two hits while striking out 11. Mitchell Sutton, (2015, Homestead, WI) was the offensive leader going 3-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Connor Kimple, (2016, Marquette University, WI) added a single and two RBIs. 
Matt Bottcher, (2016, Romeoville, IL) and Anthony Cocco, (2016, Lockport Township East, IL) had the lone hits for Rhino Baseball. 

Iowa Select Red Defeats Barnstormers

Iowa Select Red edged out the MN Barstormers by a score of 8-6. 
Devin Platts, (2015, Ankeny, IA) was the offensive leader for Iowa Select Red as he went 2-2 with a home run, a single, three RBIs and two runs scored. Lead off hitter Nolan Arp, (2015, Xavier, IA) also had a home run and starting pitcher Jack Rasmussen, (2015, Ankeny, IA) pitched four innings, allowing four runs on five hits while striking out four. 
Ryan Zimmel, (2015, St Thomas Academy, MN) led the Barstormers offense with three hits, including a double, to go with a run scored. Chad Clute, (2015, Chanhassen, MN) added a single, two RBIs and a run scored. 

Reds Midwest Defeats Force Elite 11-3

Peyton Isaacson, (2015, Galesburg, IL), a Coastal Carolina commit, had a huge offensive game for the Reds Midwest Scout Team as he hit two home runs and accounted for six RBIs in an 11-3 win over Force Elite Baseball. 
Ethan Skender, (2015, Metamora, IL), a Kansas State commit, also had a good offensive game going 1-1 with a double, two RBIs, two walks and two runs scored. Cal Jarrett, (2015, Dixon, IL), a Cincinnati commit, pitched four innings, allowing one run, no earned, on two hits while striking out seven. 
Angel Torres, (2016, St Charles North, IL) and Nicholas Worcester, (2015, Lake Park, IL) each had a single and a run scored to lead the Force Elite offense. 

Pitcher's Gem Leads Steel to 1-0 Win

Connor Van Scoyoc, (2018, Thomas Jefferson, IA)pitche a complete game shutout, only allowing one hit while striking out five in a 1-0 win over Iowa Select Black. He received offensive run support from Payton Raso, (2015, Regina, IA) who had a double and drove in the game's only run. 
Blake Hargens, (2015, Kennedy, IA) was equally impressive on the mound for Iowa Select Black as he pitche a complete game, only allowing one run, none earned, on two hits while striking out four. Cole Johnson, (2016, Millard North, NE) had a double that would be the lone hit for his team.

The PG Iowa Steel broke open the game with a four run sixth inning to give them the 6-0 win over Rhino Baseball. 
Luke Eldred, (2016, Mt. Vernon, IA) led the Iowa Steel offense going 1-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Payton Raso, (2015, Regina, IA) added a single, a double and two RBIs while teammate Izaya Ono-Fullard, (2017, Iowa City West, IA) added two doubles, a single and a run scored. Jacob Henry, (2016, Kennedy, IA) pitched a complete game, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out three. 
Andrew Jurack, (2016, Hinsdale Central, IL) pitched a complete game as well, allowing five runs, three earned, on nine hits while striking out two. Dan Devine, (2016, Joliet Catholic Academy, IL) was the offensive leader going 2-2 with a single and a double. 

2nd Inning Rally Gives Dirtbags 11-2 Win

The Illinois Dirtbags used a six run second inning to take the lead for good en route to an 11-2 win over the MN Barnstormers. 
The Illinois Dirtbags were led offensively by Zachary Johnson, (2015, Huntley, IL) who went 2-4 with a single, a home run, three RBIs and one run scored. Daniel Tenayuca, (2015, Jacobs, IL) also had a good offensive game going a perfect 3-3 with three singles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Starting pitcher Jake Liebman, (2015, Huntley, IL) pitched 4.2 innings, allowing two runs, no earned, on four hits while striking out two. 
Ryan Zimmel was the offensive leader for the Barnstormers going 1-2 with a double, a walk and a run scored. 

Iowa Select Defeats Prodigy 5-2

Iowa Select Black pulled away late in the game to defeat the Prodigy Baseball Academy by a score of 5-2. 
Alex Muhlenburg was the offensive leader for Iowa Select Black going 1-3 with a double and two RBIs. Cole Sciezinski also had a good offensive showing by getting two hits, two RBIs and a run scored. Austin Suhr pitched a good game as threw 6.1 innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits while striking out nine. 
Brody Meloy was equally impressive on the mound for Prodigy Baseball Academy as he pitched a complete game, allowing five runs, three earned, on 11 hits while striking out two. Hayden Baumgartner. was the offensive leader going 1-1 with a double, one RBI, two walks and a run scored. 

Reds Midwest Cruise to easy 11-3 Win

The Reds Midwest Scout Team cruised to the easy win, as they defeated the MN Barnstormers, 11-3.

Chris Botsoe (2015, Hinsdale Central HS, IL) a Louisville commit, led the way for Reds offense, going 2-3 with two singles, one run scored, and two RBIs in the game.  Ethan Skender (2015, Metamora HS, IL) a Kansas State commit, provided some spark by also going 2-3, with a double, triple, and five RBIs on the day.  Scott Kapers (2015, Mount Carmel HS, IN) finished with a double and two RBIs and Tyler Halas (2015, St. Rita of Cascias HS, IL) a Tennessee commit, finished 2-2 with two singles and a run scored.

On the mound, Jeremy Orbik (2015, Homewood-Flossmoor HS, IL) a Kentucky commit, pitched a complete game, giving up three earned runs on four hits and struck out six.  He showed a good ability to pitch out of trouble, and threw strikes well with a fastball that topped out at 86 mph.

For the Barnstormers, Winston Lane (2015, Osseo HS, MN) went 1-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Chad Clute (2015, Chanhassen HS, MN) finished a perfect 2-2 with two singles, one run and one RBI.




Iowa Select Black defeat Rhino Baseball

The Iowa Select Black cruised to the easy victory, defeating Rhino Baseball 7-1.

Alec Bohm (2015, Roncalli Catholic, NE) a Wichita State commit, led the way for the Select offense, going 2-3 with a homerun, single, one run scored, and four RBIs.  Cole Scieszinski (2015, Urbandale HS, IA) contributed by going 2-3 as well, with two singles and one run scored.  Cole Johnson (2016, Millard North HS, NE) also finished 2-3 at the plate, with two singles, and one RBI.

Christopher Comito (2015, Norwalk HS, IA) a Iowa University commit, pitched six complete innings of work, giving up no earned runs, two hits, and struck out nine.  He showed good command and was around the plate with all of his pitches.  He showed off a fastball that peaked at 88 mph and mixed in a good slider and a changeup for his off-speed pitches.

For Rhino Baseball, Anthony Cocco (2016, Lockport Township East, IL) went 1-2 with a single and one run scored in the game.


Force Elite Baseball defeats Barnstormers

Thanks to some late run support, Force Elite Baseball defeated the MN Barnstormers 4-2.

Trevor Wilcox (2016, Geneva Community, IL) led the way for Elite Baseball, going a perfect 3-3 with three singles.  Angel Torres (2016, St. Charles North HS, IL) went 2-4 with two singles and two singles and two RBIs.  Nicholas Worcester (2015, Lake Park HS, IL) went 2-3 with two singles and one run scored.

Ryan Stumpf (2015, Lincoln-Way East HS, IL) pitched 4.1 innings of work, giving up one earned run on four hits, and struck out six in the game.  He had a fastball that averaged 75-77/78 mph and mixed in a handful of off-speed pitches as well.

For the Barnstormers, leadoff hitter Jacob Mischke (2015, St. Thomas Academy, MN) went 2-2 with a single, and a double.  Winston Lane (2015, Osseo HS, MN) also contributed to the offense with a double of his own.


Illinois Dirtbags defeat Iowa Select 5-1

The Illinois Dirtbags defeated the Iowa Select Red, 5-1.

Leadoff hitter, Nick Albanese (2015, Marian Central Catholic, IL) led the way for the Dirtbags offense, going 2-3 with two singles and one RBI.  Matt Blain (2015, Huntley HS, IL) and Michael Cruise (2015, Dundee-Crown HS, IL) each went 1-3 with a single, and one run a piece.  Cruise also finished with one RBI in the game as well.

Ryan Mills (2015, Huntley HS, IL) pitched 6.2 innings of work, giving up no earned runs, and struck out eight in the game.  He had a fastball that averaged 75-78 mph and mixed in a handful of off-speed pitches as well.

For the Iowa Select, Devin Platts (2015, Ankeny HS, IA) sparked the offense, going 2-3 with two singles and one run scored.

Force Elite Baseball comes back to beat Iowa Select Red 6-4. Nicholas Worcester (2015, Lake Park, IL) had a perfect day at the plate with three singles and an RBI. Justin Hasegawa (2016, Geneva Community,, IL) drove in a run with a single. 

Tony Salato (2015, Knoxville, IA) led Select with two singles and two RBI's.  Evan Kolker (2015, Hempstead, IA) went 2 for 3 and drove in a run.

Black slips past PoundTown

Iowa Select Black pitchers helped their team beat PoundTown Baseball 17U.  Cole Baker (2015, Dallas Center-Grimes, IA) started and lasted six innings. He fanned five while allowing five hits and a walk. He threw his fastball in the mid 80's and touched 89 mph.   Brendan McGuire (2015, Urbandale, IA) came in to save the game.  He struck out two and walked one.  Cole Johnson (2016, Millard North, NE) led the offense with two singles and an RBI.

Tyler Waldrop (2015, Grand Ledge, MI) pitched six innings for PoundTown. He fanned seven and walked four. Connor Kimple (2016, Marquette, WI) went 2 for 3 with a double.

Neither team could pull away as Prodigy Baseball Academy 2015 tied with PG Iowa Steel 5-5. Izaya Ono-Fullard (2017, Iowa City West, IA) led PG with two hits including a homer and four RBI's.  Tyler Roeder (2016, Thomas Jefferson, IA) doubled in the other run. Anthony Alepra (2017, John F Kennedy, IA) threw 4 1/3 innings. He struck out six while allowing three hits and a walk.

Jason Anderlik (2015, Blue Valley, KS) pitched five solid innings for Prodigy.  He fanned five while walking four batters.  Both Hayden Baumgartner (2015, Fort Osage, MO) and John Chacon Jr (2015, Park Hill South, MO) had two singles in the tie.

Reds Midwest Scout Team rack up 12 hits in their 9-2 win over Illinois Dirtbags. Chris Botsoe (2015, Hinsdale Central, IL) led the offense with a double, home run and two RBI's.  Joshua Stowers (2015, Mount Carmel, IL) pitched in with two hits including a double. Connor Smith (2015, H.H. Dow, MI) did hit part by driving in three runs with a single and a double. Malcolm Grady (2015, Homewood-Flossmoor, IL) pitched three quality innings. He struck out five and did not allow a hit. His fastball was between 86-87 mph and reached 88. 

Daniel Tenayuca (2015, Harry D Jacobs, IL) started for the Dirtbags.  In three innings, he struck out four while walking one. 

Iowa Steel win Close matchup

The PG Iowa Steel defeated PoundTown Baseball 17U in a close matchup, 7-5.

Payton Raso (2015, Regina HS, IA) and Izaya Ono-Fullard (2017, Iowa City West HS, IA) each led the way for the Steel offense, by each contributing with a homerun in the ball game.  Raso finished 1-2 at the plate, with two runs scored and one RBI, and Fullard finished 1-3 with a run scored and one RBI.  Maverick Miller (2017, Marion HS, IA) went 2-4 in the game, with two singles, one run and one RBI.

For PoundTown, Dan Malak (2015, Muskego HS, WI) led the way, going 2-3 with a homerun, single, two runs and two RBIs.  Connor Kimple (2016, Marquette University, WI) also contributed with a homerun, and finished 2-3 as well with a double, one run and three RBIs on the day.

John Chacon Jr (2015, Park Hill South, MO) hit a two-run homer for Prodigy Baseball Academy 2015 in their 3-2 win over Rhino Baseball. Both Hayden Baumgartner (2015, Fort Osage, MO) and Matthew Ludwig (2015, Staley, MO) had two singles each. Jamison Raines (2015, Fort Osage, MO) pitched seven solid innings. He struck out six while allowing four hits. 

Brent Headrick (2016, Reed-Custer, IL) threw six innings for Rhino. He fanned six and walked four. He threw low 80's fastball in the loss.  Joe McGuire (2016, Lockport Township East, IL) led the offense with two singles.
