With the mid-way point of the college season closing in on us quickly and high school baseball kicking off around the country, we take a look at our latest mock draft and see how things could potentially play out, though it'll inevitably change as we get closer to hearing the actual first pick made.




1. Washington Nationals
Ethan Holliday, SS/3B, Stillwater (OK)

Holliday features a 6-foot-4, 195-pound frame and generates big time power from the left side of the plate. The offensive upside and big league bloodlines will be tough for the Nats to turn down with the first overall selection. -Tyler Henninger


2. Los Angeles Angels
Jamie Arnold, LHP, Florida State

Quite a grab here for the Halos as Arnold could be in a class of his own when it’s all said. It’s three potential plus or better offerings from a high end unique approach angle, he’s been stellar so far and fits LA’s mold of a fast track arm at the big league level. -Isaiah Burrows
 

3. Seattle Mariners
Tyler Bremner, RHP, UC Santa Barbara

Bremner is one of the best arms in this draft, and it’s no shocker that he’s RHSP1 off the board, going to the Mariners here. An upper-90s heater with a good tight slider & a plus-changeup to pair and a track record of getting it done make him one of the safest profiles in this class, leading us to believe he’ll be one of the first off the board. - Tyler Kotila.

 
4. Colorado Rockies
 Aiva Arquette, SS, Oregon State

Arquette is ranked as the top collegiate bat in the class and is the first one off the board to the Rockies. Arquette generates loud all-fields power and could hit 25+ home runs a year as a shortstop at the next level. -TH


 
5. St. Louis Cardinals
Jace LaViolette, OF, Texas A&M

The Cardinals nab a top-of-class physical talent here. LaViolette’s physical tools are unmatched with 70-grade power and every chance in center field after shaking off a sluggish start at the plate. He’s an above-average runner for his pro sized frame and carries a low chase rate and steady on-base floor. The upside is massive. -IB


6. Pittsburgh Pirates
Billy Carlson, SS, Corona HS (CA)

Carlson has been one of the best prep players in this class for some time now and could easily rival Ethan Holliday as prep player No. 1 off the board before it’s all said and done. Carlson’s a plus-defender with a future at shortstop and really quality bat-to-ball that has shown up well this spring & we’ve got him coming off the board at six, joining an exciting group of young talent in the Pirates organization. -TK


7. Miami Marlins
Kyson Witherspoon, RHP, Oklahoma

Witherspoon continues to skyrocket up boards this spring and lands himself here at 7th overall to Miami. The athletic right-hander can run it up to 97 mph and miss bats at a high rate with a sharp slider and feel for a cutter. -TH


8. Toronto Blue Jays 
Xavier Neyens, SS/3B, Mount Vernon HS (WA)

Toronto sticks with the prep route and nabs a massive hit/power upside bat in Neyens. The raw power jumps off the charts at points from a left-handed bat with a plus throwing arm on the left side. He’s coming off a solid summer circuit and has a bevy of tools. -IB


9. Cincinnati Reds
Eli Willits, SS, Fort Cobb HS (OK)

Willits is a young-for-grade shortstop who’s got bloodlines & a ton to like across the board. A toolshed featuring a loose stroke from both sides of the plate, above-average defense, and good speed with high-level performance on the circuit. We’ve got the Reds grabbing Willits here, bringing a really exciting profile to the organization. - TK
 

10. Chicago White Sox
Seth Hernandez, RHP, Corona HS (CA)

Hernandez is considered one of the best prep arms in the past decade and would add another significant weapon on the mound within the White Sox system. The right-hander can work into the upper-90s with both a slider and curveball, along with advanced feel for a changeup. The upside is immense. -TH
 

11. Athletics
Gavin Fien, 3B/OF, Great Oak HS (CA) 

The A’s stay in-state and grab one of the highest risers on the prep side in Fien. It’s plus right-handed juice and serious bat speed while showing good feel to hit the entirety of 2024 on the circuit. He’s a good athlete with a plus arm that can fit a multitude of defensive roles too. -IB
 
 
12. Texas Rangers
Marek Houston, SS, Wake Forest

Houston’s a high-level defender who’s played a great shortstop for the Deacons while getting it done at the plate, too. There’s been some talk about his ability to hit at the next level, but there’s no denying the output he’s shown, and we’ve got the Rangers grabbing him at 12, adding a quality prospect to their farm system. - TK


13. San Francisco Giants 
 Kruz Schoolcraft, LHP, Sunset HS (OR)

Schoolcraft features an imposing 6-foot-8, 230-pound frame and possesses enormous upside on the mound. The left-hander has been up to 97 mph with a fading changeup and a power, upper-80s slider. -TH

 
14. Tampa Bay Rays
Liam Doyle, LHP, Tennessee

What a grab here for the Rays’ pitching lab as Doyle is equipped with one of the best fastballs in the class, a demon offering that reaches 98-99 mph with a ride/run profile and flat vertical approach angle. He has a splitter, cutter and two breaking balls to his arsenal and the overall stuff is simply loud. -IB

 
15. Boston Red Sox
 Dean Curley, SS, Tennessee

Curley has taken strides in ‘25, proving himself on the infield dirt and swinging it well for a red-hot Vols’ team in Knoxville. The right-handed hitter with plenty to like at the dish could be a great fit for the Red Sox mold, and for that reason, we’ve got him headed to the Red Sox at 15. - TK


16. Minnesota Twins
Ethan Petry, OF, South Carolina

Petry is one of the more consistent performers among the college bats in the class, posting back-to-back 20 homer seasons and well on his way to another this spring. The power profile fits well with the Twins track record and could give Minnesota a middle of the order bat. -TH


17.Chicago Cubs
Kayson Cunningham, SS, Johnson HS (TX)

This could be huge value here, as Cunningham is the most pure hitter you can find in the prep class with bat-to-ball skill that should flourish at the pro level. He’s an all-fields hitter with goof juice and a quick twitch athlete who should stick up the middle of the dirt. Landing a hit tool this good can really work out to Chicago’s benefit. -IB

 
18. Arizona Diamondbacks
Kade Anderson, LHP, LSU

Anderson is one of the dark horse prospects in this class, and we’ve got him shooting up to 18th off the board to the Diamondbacks. The LSU southpaw throws four pitches for strikes, working into the mid-90s with two really good breakers. It’s been a really fun watch as the draft-eligible sophomore has shown a lot to like and could be a steal here for Arizona. - TK


19. Baltimore Orioles
Gavin Kilen, 2B/SS, Tennessee 

Kilen has been on a tear this spring, posting an OPS over 1.500, and would give the O’s another dynamic bat within their system. The middle infielder possesses a mix of bat to ball skills and power upside that could quickly accelerate through the minor leagues. -TH
 

20. Milwaukee Brewers
Brendan Summerhill, OF, Arizona 

Another good value here as Summerhill has a bevy of well-rounded tools at his disposal. It’s a polished left-handed bat with some advanced bat-to-ball rates and budding power. He more than holds his own in right the Wildcats but has a chance in center at the next level as well with his athleticism and foot speed, makings for a good fit with the Brewers’ track record of producing big league talent. -IB


21. Houston Astros
Brandon Compton, OF, Arizona State

The Astros love themselves some bats who can impact, and Compton could very well be just that. He’s swung the bat really well to start the season and made some real noise early on that moved him up draft boards. A physical left-handed bat with plenty of impact could certainly be right up the Astros’ alley here at 21. - TK


22. Atlanta Braves
Cameron Appenzeller, LHP, Glenwood HS (IL)

Appenzeller would make it two straight years going high-upside prep lefthanders in the first round for Atlanta. The Illinois product can sit in the mid-90’s with a dynamic two-plane slider and quality fading changeup. The upside could wind up a steal here at 22nd overall. -TH


23. Kansas City Royals
Steele Hall, SS, Hewitt-Trussville HS (AL)

The Royals nab a high-upside prep talent in Hall, a big time athlete garnering plenty of first-round action to this point. He’s clean on the dirt rocking plus run times with big right-handed bat speed and some solid power upside as well. Hall is tooled up and Kansas City targets upside at any spot in the draft. -IB


24. Detroit Tigers
Ike Irish, C, Auburn

Irish is one of the safer and more proven college bats in the class, plus, he’s a Michigan native. Who doesn’t love the hometown kid? Irish is a real enticing bat in this draft class and could be a quality grab for the Tigers at 24th overall. -TK


25. San Diego Padres
Sean Gamble, SS/OF, IMG Academy (FL)

Gamble is one of the more twitchy athletes in the class and would be a seemingly perfect fit with the Padres. Gamble’s athleticism should allow him to stick up the middle defensively and there is upside at the plate from the left side. -TH
 

26. Philadelphia Phillies
Slater de Brun, OF, Summit HS (OR)

The Phillies stick on the prep route yet again, and select yet another major high school value in de Brun. One of the best athletes in the class young for grade, de Brun can stick in center as a double-plus runner with closing speed and a very sound bat-to-ball skill that shined on the circuit. The collection of tools is massive and falls right in the Phillies’ hands. -IB

27. Cleveland Guardians
Ethan Conrad, OF, Wake Forest

Conrad is one of the players in this class who has not had the most buzz but could wind up being an absolute steal for the Guardians at 27th. A college performer who makes good swing decisions & handles the bat well, with some sneaky juice that has shown up even more recently. -TK


28. Kansas City Royals
Cam Cannarella, OF, Clemson

The Royals are back on the clock and get good value here in Cannarella, arguably the best athlete in the class. He’s equipped with burners, a 70-grade runner with highest upside potential in center field. The defensive floor brings great value, and he has a sound approach and a good all-fields hit tool. -IB


29. Arizona Diamondbacks
Daniel Pierce, SS, Mill Creek (GA) 

Pierce continues to generate buzz this spring and finds himself in the backend of the first round here. He shows intriguing power upside at the plate with big time bat speed, along with strong defensive actions at shortstop. -TH
 
30. Baltimore Orioles
Wehiwa Aloy, SS, Arkansas

There may not be a bat who has improved more than Aloy, as the chase and whiff rates have lowered while still driving the ball at a high rate. There is legit jump off his bat with power plays to all fields. He’s a good athlete capable on the left side long term with arm strength. The O’s value college bats, and Aloy’s immense tools and improved production has been loud to say the least.  -IB


31. Baltimore Orioles
Riley Quick, RHP, Alabama

Quick has been one of the big risers this spring, showing an upper-90s fastball with elite stuff. The Orioles grabbing Quick at 33, could be a steal, with the way they have extracted value from players. Quick’s got some of the best stuff in this college pitching class and has been really impressive this spring for Alabama. - TK


32. Milwaukee Brewers
 Patrick Forbes, RHP, Louisville 

Forbes has shown the ability to miss bats at an extremely high rate this spring with explosive stuff. The fastball has been up to 98 mph with feel for two distinct breakers, along with a changeup. If he can continue to throw strikes, the profile may go even higher than this. -TH


33. Milwaukee Brewers
Joseph Parker, SS, Purvis HS (MS)

Parker is a left-handed hitting infielder with a ton of strength and impact. He has shown a lot to like on the circuit in the past and has the tools on the dirt, giving him a quality profile, especially with a lot to like with the stick. Plenty of organizations have really been happy with Parker, but we’ve got the Brewers grabbing him at 33rd overall to kick off the comp round after grabbing Summerhill & Forbes early on. - TK


34. Detroit Tigers
Angel Cervantes, RHP, Warren HS (CA)

Cervantes checks a lot of boxes you look for in a prep arm. The right-hander is young for the class, has athleticism, and possesses high upside stuff. The fastball works into the mid-90’s, while both the slider and curveball possess spin rates over 2900 rpm. 


35. Seattle Mariners
Aaron Watson, RHP, Trinity Christian Academy (FL)

Seattle lands a big rising prep arm in Watson, a real projectable righty and real athlete getting well into the upper-90s and feel for a sharp slider. He has a serious mound presence with traits that align with the Mariners’ high end pitching production at the pro and amateur level. -IB
 

36. Minnesota Twins
Devin Taylor, OF, Indiana

Taylor has been a performer at the college level, and the bat is certainly going to carry this profile. He’s got plenty of impact and feel to be on the barrel, with juice that has shown up well after a slower start to the spring. We’ve got the Twins grabbing the Hoosiers outfielder at 36th in the comp round. - TK


37. Tampa Bay Rays
Luke Stevenson, C, North Carolina

Stevenson is one of the top collegiate catchers in this class. The backstop generates advanced in-game power from the left side and has a plus arm behind the plate, allowing him to impact the game on both sides of the ball. -TH
 

38. New York Mets
Quentin Young, SS/OF, Oaks Christian HS (CA)

The Mets shoot for high upside here, as Young is littered with 70-grade raw tools all over the board. He’s leaving the yard at a high rate this year and the power is immense with a triple-digit arm that can fit anywhere in the diamond. His tool set is simply loud to find at this spot. -IB

 
39. New York Yankees  
Andrew Fischer, CIF, Tennessee

Fischer caught fire a few weeks into the season and has shown a ton of feel to do damage in the air and show the power potential. It’s a physical left-handed swing with a ton of strength on display, taking some really loud hacks this spring. We’ve got the Yankees opening up their ‘25 Draft Class with the Vols’ slugger.


40. Los Angles Dodgers
Jaden Fauske, C/OF, Nazareth Academy (IL)

Fauske is one of the more advanced hitters in the prep class, showing a fluid, easy left-handed stroke with plenty of power projection remaining. There is some defensive versatility to the profile, as Fauske has shown he can play all over the diamond including catcher. -TH


41. Los Angles Dodgers
Korbyn Dickerson, OF, Indiana 

A great value get for the Dodgers, landing a serious speed/power threat in Dickerson. It’s some of the better bat speed on the college side with all-fields power and good swing decisions. He’s a big time athlete holding his own in center field and the defending champs can make the most of his tool set and pure ability. -IB
 
 
42. Tampa Bay Rays
RJ Austin, OF, Vanderbilt

Austin has shown a lot to like this spring. He’s had some buzz in the past, of course, but has really started to show why he’s a high-level prospect in this class, taking strides at the plate. We’ve got the Rays bringing him in during the comp round here at 42nd overall. - TK


43. Miami Marlins
Max Belyeu, OF, Texas 

Belyeu posted an 18-homer season with an OPS north of 1.000 last year and is on pace to do so again this spring. There is big time juice from the left side of the plate to go along with strong swing decisions and feel for the barrel. -TH

Well college baseball fans, we are officially at the half-way point of the 2026 season and what an incredible ride it has already been.  While there is some separation at the top as we start to look at programs that could be potential NCAA tournament hosts, things continue to change as clubs revitalize their seasons by winning massive series in league play.  The Top 25 seems to be getting more volatile as we reach the midway point, and the second half is setting up to be something special.  The one thing that will remain the same as it has for a month now, is that the UCLA (25-2) will still be the No. 1 team in the nation.  The Bruins are winners of 19-consecutive games and have started off Big Ten league play by sweeping 4-straight series.  The Texas Longhorns (23-4) hold tight at No. 2 this week after sweeping previous No. 11 Oklahoma (19-8) and sit atop the...

Hudson December (2027, Woodland Hills, Calif.) showed flashes of his upside despite a somewhat uneven three-inning outing. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-hander struck out three while working through a couple of tough jams, though his command was inconsistent at times. He ran his fastball up to 87 mph on a pair of occasions and generally sat in the 83–85 range. He mixed in an upper-70s slider with varying shape and execution where it was most effective when thrown with proper intent, showing shorter, tighter depth. He also flashed a changeup against a few left-handed hitters. Mechanically, there’s a blend of positives and areas for development. He incorporates his lower half fairly well and moves down the mound with some pace and intent. March 24th Perfect Game/Player of the Week: Quinton Coats, IF, Cincinnati The Cincinnati Bearcats (19-7) are on the cusp of the Top 25 and are playing their best ball of the season. The offense has been the driving force behind their success, and it has been incredibly consistent having averaged 8.5-runs per game. In the middle of it all, Quinton Coats, is on pace for a historic season both within the program and on a national level. The 6-3/225 infielder from Olathe, KS has been launching home runs at a record pace and opponents seem to be powerless to stop his onslaught. With incredible strength in his hands, Coats creates easy loft and in 5 road games last week he collected 9 hits in 20 at-bats, with 4 home runs, 9 runs scored, and he drove in a total of 9 runs as well. Time flies when you are having fun and the fact that we are almost to the halfway point of the 2026 season, proves just how entertaining things have been to this point. In what was an ultra-impactful week on the national landscape, there are some clubs fading out of the limelight while others are emerging from the shadows and showing they are a force to be reconned with. Conference play always makes the big picture come into view and we are now getting a feel for who the true contenders may be as the grind begins. The 2026 MLB Draft class is shaping up to be one of the better in recent memory and, potentially, the best class in the last decade. It’s led by UCLA superstar shortstop Roch Cholowsky, a true five-tool prospect who’s the early favorite for 1:1. One of the most popular pieces of industry feedback when constructing this list was some variation of “Roch is too low” or “go up on Roch” and he’s the best college prospect since 2019 when Adley Rutschman (Oregon State, Orioles) was the consensus No. 1 prospect. Similarly to 2019, there’s a superstar Texas prep shortstop at No. 2, in 2019 it was Bobby Witt Jr. (Colleyville Heritage, Royals) and this year it’s Grady Emerson. Both Emerson and Alabama’s Justin Lebron would have been solid 1:1 candidates in years where Roch Cholowsky is not eligible and both have All-Star potential....
