Preseason Top 25 Rankings

Vincent Cervino      Craig Cozart
The first Top 25 of 2023 is upon us and standing atop the rankings at the No. 1 spot are the LSU Tigers. Jay Johnson enters Year 2 in Baton Rouge and when factoring in both transfers and freshmen, this is potentially one of the best recruiting classes ever. Superstars Tommy White and Paul Skenes transfer in after having major Division I success and join an established core of veterans led by Dylan Crews and Tre’ Morgan. The Tigers have an overwhelming amount of talent and we’ll be taking a closer look at LSU’s No. 1 team later this week.

Rounding out the Top 5 are No. 2 Tennessee, No. 3 Stanford, No. 4 Arkansas, and No. 5 Wake Forest. Tennessee was the story of the 2022 season and return the entire starting rotation including SEC Pitcher of the Year Chase Dollander. Stanford has a bevy of returning starters including superstar Braden Montgomery while Arkansas features a ton of Year 2 starters. Wake Forest looks loaded on paper and has two of the top hitters in the country in Brock Wilken and Nick Kurtz.

In total, the SEC looks poised for dominance once again as 7 of the top 11 ranked teams are from the conference. The ACC and the Big 12 look super competitive and deep while the Big 10 gets one representative in the Top 25 in Maryland. Various other teams were in this mix and we will be releasing our teams ranked 26-40 next week. Be sure to stay tuned in as Preseason All-Americans release tomorrow.
