7:15pm- Both Friday night games were tight battles as Canes Baseball 16U take the first win of the tournament against Mets Scout - Marucci 5-4. Nelson Smith threw great for the Canes in 5 innings of work striking out 6 and only letting up 2 runs. Justin Jones led the team offensively with a double and RBI. For Mets Scout - Marucci, Alex Napoli also contributed an RBI on a double.

Diamond Prospects 16U defeated El Americal 17U 9-8 in another close one. Manuel Souffrain led Diamond Prospects with 2 hits including a double and 3 RBI's. Ryan Sablon also had a pair of hits for Diamond Prospects. El Americal got the majority of their offense from Derek Dormois who recorded 2 RBI's on 3 hits.

10:00am- Banditos Florida Black 17U took a 9-0 victory against Canes Baseball 16U to improve to 1-0 in the tournament. Banditos pitching staff (Armando Sierra, Johander Gonzalez, and Alexander Gonzalez) combined for a 3 hit shutout while Anthony Arancibia went 2-2 with 2 doubles and Mario Osario had 2 RBIs.

FPST took a 7-3 victory over El Americal 17U for their first win of the tournament. Ramziel Ortiz led the attack with 3 RBI's while Christian Diaz added 2 RBIs as well. Kalib Colon went 2-2 with 2 singles and a walk, meanwhile FPST's pitcher's (Lonnie Ellis and John F. Barrera) combined for 2 hits and 7 strikeouts.

Mets Scout - Marucci beat Panama Mutiny Legends 8-2 with 3 RBIs coming from the leadoff batter Tyler Stokes. Third baseman Ian Thornton also had an RBI with two hits. Reif Sikora had a double and crossed the plate twice for the Mets Scout Team. The pitcher Liam Felix for the Mets Scout Team had a solid pitching performance with 8 strikeouts over 6 innings keeping the Panama Mutiny Legends to two runs. Ryan Del Corro fought hard for Panama with two hits, one being a double.

A back and forth offensive affair between Diamond Prospects 16U and SBO 17U ends with neither team finding the loss column, as the game ends in six with a score of 7-7. Diamond Prospects 16U used three arms in the game, but the performance by Ryan Sablon in relief proved to be crucial. Sablon went two innings, only allowing one player to reach base, backed by two strikeouts. At the plate, the Prospects were led by Jean Carlos Diaz and Christian Hermosilla, each with a hit and 2 RBIs. SBO 17U only sent one arm to the rubber as Wilberth Jomar Ortiz lasted the full six innings, racking up 7 strikeouts, with two coming in the last inning with runners on. SBO was lead by Giovanni Febus with a crucial 2-RBI double in the 3rd inning.

12:15pm- Panama Mutiny Legends took home a win for their second game of the day in a 6-0 victory over Canes Baseball 16U. Center fielder Jorge Beltre had two hits with 2 RBIs and crossed the plate himself as well. Second baseman Adrian Vega also had 2 RBIs with a run scored. A double from Ryan Del Corro also knocked in a run for Panama Mutiny Legends. And the last of Panama’s runs was batted in by the DH David Castillo. Panama was backed by a great pitching performance from Mario Doble who had 12 strikeouts in 7 innings, only letting up 3 hits. His fastball topped at 89 MPH and mixed in a 78 MPH curveball.

Banditos Florida Black defeated Mets Scout - Marucci 9-4. For the Banditos, Armando Sierra went 3-4 with 3 RBI's and Jonathan Vega had 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Anthony Iglesias pitched 6 innings and had 7 strikeouts. For Mets Scout - Marucci, Johnny Martin hit a 2 run home run.

SBO 17u took home the win today against El Americal 17u to improve to 1-0-1. The DH Gabriel Ortiz went 1 for 1 with a double and 2 walks, scored 2 runs himself, and knocked one in. The left fielder Gian Sebastian Mejias, also had 2 hits with an RBI. SBO’s pitcher Juan Toledo, had 10 strikeouts through his 7 innings pitched topping his fastball at 81 MPH.

A sixth inning, five run rally wipes out a dominant pitching performance by Bryan Pazos of Diamond Prospects 16U to give FPST a 5-3 win over Diamond Prospects 16U. Bryan Pazos came out firing for Diamond Prospects 16U, allowing 0 hits and striking out 12 in 5+ innings of work, but surrendering 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 walks. On the other end, Carlos Vega of FPST went the distance picking up the win on 7 innings of work, only allowing 4 hits and striking out 5.

2:30pm- In a game that had playoff seeding implications, Banditos Florida Black pulled out another win against Panama Mutiny Legends to make them 3-0 in pool play and officially clinched the 1 seed in the playoffs for their pool. Alejandro Martin threw 7 scoreless innings for Banditos, striking out 3, and only letting up 2 hits. Armando Sierra was made an impact offensively again as he recorded a hit and 2 RBI's.

SBO 17U won a big game against FPST to improve to 2-0-1 in pool play and clinch the 1 seed in the playoffs for their pool. Javian Serrano and Brian Febus both had a hit and pair of RBI's for SBO. Dario Jr Martinez had a good outing on the mound for SBO striking out 4 and only letting up 2 runs in 5 innings.

Consolations-
Mets Scout - Marucci faced the Diamond Prospects in a hard fought 3 innings. The Mets Scout team pulled away in the 4th scoring 6 runs. Tyler Stokes, Ian Thornton and Reif Sikora led the charge with 2 RBIs a piece. For the Diamond Prospects, Jorge Blanco led the way with an RBI and a walk.

El Americal 17U survives a late game rally from Canes Baseball 16U to take home an 11-6 win behind great hitting performances from Zach Riegel and Steven Johnson. Riegel put together a nice day at the place, going 3 for 4 and scoring twice. Johnson was able to drive in 3 runs on 2 hits and a walk, including a double. Jace Jones reached base in both of his plate appearances, having a hit and a walk, while driving in 2.

Semifinals-
Panama Mutiny Legends faced off against SBO and the Mutiny came out victorious. Ryan Del Corro went 2-3 with a triple and 4 RBIs. While Mutiny pitching combined for a 3 hit shutout with 10 strikeouts. Roberto Mayorca had 5 strikeouts and also struck out the side to send Panama to the championship. Meanwhile for SBO, Javian Serrano went 2-2 with 2 singles.

Banditos Florida Black came out swinging this morning taking down FPST. A few key players led the offense for the Banditos with Armando Sierra and Alexander Gonzalez having 3 hits apiece. Gonzalez had 4 RBI's in this game and crossed the plate twice himself. The starter for Banditos, Isaiah Cordero, went 4 innings with 8 strikeouts.

Championship- Banditos Florida Black finished the tournament a perfect 5-0 and won the 2018 17U Super25 Florida Super Qualifier in comeback fashion after scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, for a final score of 5-4. Jonathan Vega provided a big, two-RBI ground rule double to tie the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the seventh before Daniel Moreno drove in the game winning run with a sacrifice fly to right field. Panama Mutiny Legends were led by Ricardo Garcia, who tossed 6.1 strong innings on the mound and struck out five, before the late surge by the Banditos. David Castillo was a standout offensively for Panama Mutiny, finishing 3-for-3 with a double, triple and three RBI.

Jonathan Vega was named the tournament MVP after delivering the huge double in the Championship Game. Vega finished the weekend with five hits, two doubles and three RBI. Mario Doble of Panama Mutiny Legends was named the tournament's MVPitcher. Doble, who topped out at 89 MPH, pitched a complete game shutout on Saturday, allowing just three hits in seven innings and struck out 12 batters.
