Alex Edmondson is a 2020 RHP/SS with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Simpsonville, SC who attends Mauldin HS. Large frame with a lanky build and tons of room to project strength upon. Primary righthanded pitcher with a short rocker step into a leg lift above the belt. Slight pause at the balance point with a long, loose, and fast arm stroke. Bit offline through the back and lands online toward the plate. Extended, lower three-quarters arm slot and creates lots of angle when working against righthanded hitters. Fastball topped out at 91 mph and shows some hard arm side run when working toward the arm side. Good slider with 10/4 shape, requisite bite, and the ability to land for strikes. Ball explodes out of the hand and flashed a changeup at 81 mph with short sink for a strike. Good life out of the hand and the breaking ball projects to be a difference maker type of pitch. Good student. Verbal commitment to Clemson. Named to the 2018 Jr. National Showcase Top Prospect List.
