2018 Top Prospects

Daniel Carpenter  RHP - 2018 - ,   Central Arizona CC

The 6-foot-6, uncommitted right handed pitched flashed an electric fastball that created heavy running action to arm side in the mid to upper 80's, topped at 88 miles per hour. Carpenter's breaking ball showed 10/5 shape with late, hard bite to glove side. Established fastball early in counts and showed the feel to consistently spot up to each edge of the plate.

Christopher Lopez  OF - 2018 - ,   Uncommitted

Lopez showed fluid, athletic actions throughout the weekend. Posted a 6.96 sixty-yard dash while topping at 88 miles per hour from the outfield. Offensively, the 5-foot-7, 165-pounder created solid linear shift into contact that produced a clean line drive swing plane. Lopez flashed good barrel control and worked to all parts of the field with ease.

Braden Winget  1B - 2018 - ,   San Jacinto CC

The 6-foot-3 first baseman swung with intent and looked to drive the baseball with authority. Flashed very quick hands through the hitting zone that created present bat speed with strength at contact. Turned the barrel to contact with aggression generated hard contact to the pull side gap.

Chase Castor  3B - 2018 - ,   Indiana University Southeast

The primary third baseman showed a lot of room to add strength in his 6-foot-2 frame. Castor utilized his athleticism all over the field throughout the weekend showing a smooth, balanced approach at the plate with the strength to drive the gaps. Also impressed on the mound showing a running fastball well feel for each off speed pitch.

Jack Hodgins  RHP - 2018 - ,   Uncommitted

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound right handed pitcher utilized a high three-quarters arm slot that produced very heavy running action through the zone topping at 85 miles per hour. The Simi Vally native changed speeds with a 10/5 breaking ball and flashed late sink with a change up.

Jared Schatz  OF - 2018 - ,   Uncommitted

Schatz posted a 6.77 sixty-yard dash and showed good bat to ball skills at the plate. Employed a line drive approach and consistently worked the ball to all fields. The 5-foot-10 outfielder shows a knack for finding the barrel that will work well at the top off many line ups at the next level.

Nick Andrakin  C - 2018 - ,   Uncommitted

Swung with intent while at the plate showing very good raw power at contact. When squared, showed the present juice in the barrel to be a game changing, middle of the order hitter. Also impressed while on the mound featuring a fastball that generated steep downhill angle to the bottom of the zone topping at 85 miles per hour.

Daniel Crasnick  C - 2018 - ,   Hawaii

The Los Angeles native showed good raw power at the plate with a naturally leveraged swing plane. Consistently looked to connect with baseball out front and generated loud, hard carry to each gap when squared.

Jacob Blanchet  SS - 2018 - ,   Uncommitted

Blanchet showed smooth, fluid actions defensively and flashed extended range while working through the baseball. At the plate, the Irvine native utilized a balanced approached and created hard line drive contact to the middle of the field throughout the weekend.

Daniel Johnson  SS - 2018 - ,   Cal State San Marcos

The 5-foot-11 middle infielder utilized a simple, direct swing path that generated natural leverage through extension. Johnson has the present hand speed and barrel control to work to all fields with the strength to drive the gaps as well.
