Jared Schatz is a 2018 OF/SS with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Agoura Hills, CA who attends Oaks Christian. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.77 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth, fluid footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Picks up baseball out front and worked through exchange with quick, compact action. Longer arm circle and released from a three-quarters arm slot generating accurate carry to the bag at 80 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with an even, balanced stance and very simple leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Direct, inside path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Utilized a mid field approach but showed very good feel for the barrel when working the other way as well. Good student. Named to the 2017 California Uncommitted Showcase, Top Prospect List.
