2023 Top Prospects

Hayden Blair  C - 2023 - Senoia, GA
Walters State CC

Blair proved to be one of the top bats from the event utilizing his 6-foot-3 225 pound frame to its fullest potential. Easy power in the box with multiple extra base hits over the course of the event. Also was solid behind the dish with a pop time of 2.00 seconds and plays a serviceable first base.

Clay Thompson  OF - 2023 - Tampa, FL
Pasco-Hernando CC

Thompson impressed early on with a speedy 6.61 second sixty yard dash to kick off workouts. Also showed well in the outfield hawking balls down and threw it 89 mph. Bat really starting to come along as he found the barrel with every cut and even left the yard to the pull-side during games.

Will Briggs  C - 2023 - Shakopee, MN
Purdue

Briggs is very solid defensively behind the dish. Did a nice job receiving low fastballs and had a strong arm to go with it. Recorded a pop time of 1.91 seconds. Also squared it up in the box and drove some towering shots to the middle of the field.

Eathen Rush  OF - 2023 - Mesa, AZ

Rush is a guy with serious two-way potential. He ran a 6.55 second sixty yard dash and had a real strong showing in the outfield throwing it 89 mph. Also jumped on the mound and carved hitters up. Fastball into the mid-80's and a real nasty curveball to go with it. Spin rates north of 2,700 rpm with very sharp bite late in the zone. Projects as a two-way guy going forward.

Jonathan Smith  SS - 2023 - Suwanee, GA
Young Harris College

Smith played one of the smoothest shortstops from the entire event. Great hands and proved to have lateral range, showing off that sub-7.00 second sixty. He also had a strong arm up to 88 mph across the diamond and projects on the left-side of the infield. Gap to gap pop in the bat from the right-handed stick as well showcasing multiple tools over the two day event.

Ben Hollenbeck  OF - 2023 - Newnan, GA
LaGrange College

Hollenbeck can make the argument that he had one of the top showings from the entire event. Started with a 6.58 second sixty yard dash. Good showing during outfield drills throwing it 87 mph. Had multiple hits over the course of the two games played and cruised around the paths taking extra bags at will.

Tait Picot  3B - 2023 - Rochester Hills, MI

Picot is just a true gamer. Always in the right spot at the right time. Ran a 6.81 second sixty yard dash. Played a great third base with soft hands and threw it 83 mph during drills. Big power in the box as he tripled to left-center and also hit a homerun to the pull-side that was called foul but either way, flashed the power upside that he has.

Jeramie Favors II  OF - 2023 - Loganville, GA
Andrew College

Favors could make the argument of being the top athlete from the event. Ran an easy 6.67 second sixty yard dash. Also threw it 90 mph from the outfield during drills. Simple cut in the box looking to drive it gap to gap. Flashed power at times during his batting practice round and recorded an exit velocity of 87 mph.

Tyler Albanese  RHP - 2023 - Mentone, CA
San Jose State

Albanese was very good on the bump. The 6-foot-6 right-hander has plenty of upside. Was up to 87 mph and pounded the glove at a downhill angle. Also went to a fading changeup in the mid-70's and rounded the arseanl off with a curveball in the upper-60's. For safe measure, he left the yard to the pull-side during game actions. Just further proving his raw, natural strength.

Cole Ayala  C - 2023 - Fortuna, CA
Montana State

Ayala is versatile defensively proving to have feel for multiple positions. Great catcher proving to be athletic in the lower half. Recorded a pop time of 1.97 seconds. Also threw it 86 mph from the outfield. Took some quality at-bats in games including a triple to deep centerfield.

Brooks Chamberlin  RHP - 2023 - Tampa, FL
Presbyterian

Chamberlin was really solid on the bump as the 6-foot-4 right-hander pounded the mitt. Fastball up t o86 mph and went to a sharp slider in the mid-70's as well. Confident in his stuff and carved up opposing hitters. More in the tank down the road.

Jackson Denton  SS - 2023 - Fernandina Beach, FL
Hillsborough CC

Denton is a solid utility guy who found barrels at the dish too. In the outfield, he proved to have range running a sub-7.00 second sixty yard dash. He also had the hands to play in the infield showing off proper glove work. He had multiple hits during games and even had a ground rule double to the pull-side gap.

Coleman Garner  C - 2023 - Lagrange, GA
Chipola College

Garner was great defensively behind the dish showing feel to receive and was quick getting the baseball out on throw downs. Recorded a pop time of 1.90 seconds. Also swung it well in games with multiple hits and was a great baserunner instinctually.

Mattheson Go  C - 2023 - Acworth, GA
Marshall

Go is a solid utility guy who proved he could get it done wherever. Ran a 6.87 second sixty yard dash. Was solid in outfield work throwing it 88 mph. Really solid behind the dish with feel to frame. Recorded a pop time of 1.93 seconds. Also hit in games with some confidence including a ripped single over the second baseman's head.

Eli Hellmann  SS - 2023 - Georgetown, TX
McLennan CC

Hellman proved his value as a two-way type prospect during the event. Ran a 7.06 second sixty yard dash. Flashed good range at shortstop as he made some tough plays look easy. Including a tough play up the middle while throwing a dart on the run to just beat the runner. Threw it 86 mph during drills. Also was solid on the hill. Fastball up to 82 mph and mixed in a slurvy breaking ball in low-70's.

Gavin Hunt  OF - 2023 - Castle Pines, CO
Azusa Pacific

Hunt was well rounded in multiple facets of the game. Ran just over a 7.00 second sixty yard dash. Proper footwork showing in the outfield and had a strong arm, up to 89 mph with throws. Also had some thump in the right-handed stick as he drove it around the park on a line in both batting practice and in games.

Caden Hunt  OF - 2023 - Henderson, NV

Hunt ran a smooth 6.50 second sixty yard dash and carried that momentum through the rest of the event. Threw it 83 mph during outfield drills and was also solid behind the dish. Recorded a pop time of 2.00 seconds. Flashed some power in the box too with an exit velocity of 86 mph.

Ty Jones  OF - 2023 - Columbus, GA
Georgia Highlands

Jones possesses a great frame at 6-foot-5 and put it to the test during the event. Ran a 6.84 second sixty yard dash. Also threw it 90 mph from the outfield with accuracy. Linear cut in the box looking to drive it back up the middle. Recorded an exit velocity of 90 mph.

Kirk Kolano  1B - 2023 - Tampa, FL
Uncommitted

Kolano worked out in multiple positions and showed off his athleticism while doing so. Arm strength present up to 87 mph from the outfield. His best tool being his hit and power. Found some really loud barrels and recorded an exit velocity of 91 mph.

Marshall Minor  OF - 2023 - Irvine, CA
Uncommitted

Minor robbed multiple hitters of extra base hits in the outfield as he covered a ton of ground. He ran a 6.67 second sixty yard dash & it was put to great use in centerfield. He also swung it with the best of them. Tripled into the left-center gap and busted it around the paths cruising into third standing up. Great combination of speed and power here.

Devin Portee  SS - 2023 - Decatur, GA
Dyersburg State CC

Portee was smooth as could be in the infield make nice lateral place and throwing darts on the run. Threw it 85 mph across the diamond during drills. Solid stick in the box looking to drive it gap to gap. Starting to show more power with an exit velocity of 91 mph.

Austin Robinson  OF - 2023 - Villa Rica, GA
Young Harris College

Robinson was solid in workouts day one as he ran a sub-7.00 second sixty yard dash. He also threw it 91 mph from the outfield with good carry to target. Jumped on the mound on day two and had upside their as well. Fastball up to 81 mph and a pair of good breaking balls that had hitters guessing. More velocity in the frame down the road.

Tyler Tedeschi  OF - 2023 - Plymouth, MA
NYU

Tedeschi was one of the top two-way guys from the event. The right-hander was up to 81 mph on the bump and mixed in a sharp breaking ball in the low-70's as well. Also ran a 6.96 second sixty. Was more than serviceable in the outfield and infield while throwing it 88 mph during drills. Had a few hits in games as well including a base hit up the middle for an rbi.


2024 Top Prospects

Jericho Morris-Johns  1B - 2024 - Stouffville, ON CAN
Wabash Valley College

Morris-Johns utilized his 6-foot-6 238 pound frame to its fullest abilities. Took a great round of batting practice and it translated into games. Ground rule double to the pull-side in games. Also was up to to 82 mph on the mound with a breaking ball in the mid-60's.
