2021 Top Prospects

Kodi Austin  3B - 2021 - Atlanta, GA

Austin displayed plenty to like in the infield with his smooth actions as well as his upper-80s velocity across the diamond. He swings with good intent at the plate creating a positive lift through the hitting zone with quickness to his hands.

Narvin Booker Jr  OF - 2021 - Lithonia, GA
Nicholls State

Booker topped out at 90 mph from the outfield, ran a 6.66 second 60, and also featured a fluid swing with a line drive swing plane. Booker is an uncommitted 2021 with interesting tools to project on moving forward.

Jonathan Burns  RHP - 2021 - Christiana, TN
Trevecca Nazarene University

Burns ran his fastball up to 86 mph in a dominate four inning outing that saw him strike out 10. His ability to locate his fastball to both sides of the plate from a shorter arm action allowed him to get swings and misses as his fastball really jumped on hitters.

Cason Firth  OF - 2021 - Lagrange, GA
Snead State CC

Near the top of the event in the 60 yard dash was 2021 outfielder Cason Firth. A quick-twitch athlete really showcased a high level skillset with both his run tool and ability to square up the baseball.

Jason Hayden  OF - 2021 - Powder Springs, GA

Hayden is an athletic outfielder who took a nice round of batting practice firing his hips and getting the bat head out in front at impact. His 6.89 speed plays in game combining with his knack for hitting the ball on the barrel.

John Tyler Maynard  C - 2021 - Oakwood, GA

Maynard showed a righthanded swing with serious intent. His bat path shows some natural loft producing a 89 mph exit velocity with an approach that is looking to attack in the zone. Behind the plate he recorded a 1.98 second pop time showing carry on his throws down to second base. With a 6-0/170 pound frame there is room to project more strength moving forward in his frame.

Slaide Naturman  RHP - 2021 - Roswell, GA
Gulf Coast State College

Naturman committed to Kennesaw State right after this event concluded. The right-hander showed plenty of arm strength in the outfield and behind the dish before hopping on the mound with upper-80s velocity and a sharp slider.

Evan Oakley  OF - 2021 - Gilbertsville, KY

Topping out at an event high 93 mph from the outfield is always a strong number to reach and that's what Oakley did at the event. He also hopped on the mound showing mid-80s velocity with life to his heater.

Braelin Pillot  RHP - 2021 - Mableton, GA
Howard College

Pillot is a strong-bodied rising senior whose pitching and powerful swing were both showcased over the weekend. Pillot topped out at 86 mph with solid controls but creates big bat speed at the plate with very high exit velocities when squared up.

Kameron Taylor  1B - 2021 - Lithonia, GA
Andrew College

Taylor showcased a solid all round skillset over the weekend. He started with a solid round of batting practice spraying line drives deep up the middle and to the pull side. He followed that up with a 6.87 second 60, showing plus speed for his physical 6-2/210 pound frame.

Zachary Thomas  3B - 2021 - Jesup, GA
Mercer/LSU - Eunice

Thomas has a a third baseman profile that also shows good power potential at the plate. Thomas strength in the right-handed box and strong arm across was on full display with an 89 mph throw across the diamond and 94 mph exit velocity over the weekend.

Gray Wilson  OF - 2021 - Alpharetta, GA
Georgia Highlands

Taking a middle of the field approach to batting practice is always a good idea and that's what Wilson did on Saturday. His hands are very strong and there is fluidity there as he continuously barreled the ball up the middle.


2022 Top Prospects

Reid Akins  C - 2022 - Martinez, GA
FSCJ

Akins had solid workouts at multiple positions this weekend. A primary catcher, he popped a 2.02 second pop time with good carry on his throws down to second base. On the mound he ran his fastball up to 84 mph and mixed in a sharp 12-6 curveball with depth through the zone. At the plate he showed promising bat speed with and easy stroke as the ball comes off well when squared up.

William Carroll  OF - 2022 - Lafayette, GA
Chattanooga State Technical CC

Carroll showed well in his batting practice round with loud round of barrels as he showed good feel for getting his lower half involved in the swing. His bat speed proved legit in testing with a 92 mph exit velocity. He took that same approach into the game launching a no doubt home run to left center field.

Noah Couch  OF - 2022 - Jacksonville, FL
Olivet Nazarene University

Couch really stood out in workouts where he recorded a 6.84 second 60, threw 88 mph from the outfield, and took an impressive round of batting practice. In batting practice he showed a strong swing with good timing and drive in the lower half. He also got on the mound and topped out at 85 mph with his fastball while mixing in a slurvy breaking ball and changeup.

Grant Donkin  RHP - 2022 - Springfield, TN
Trevecca Nazarene University

Donkin a very projectable right handed pitcher showed a heavy fastball creating plenty of swings and misses as he hides the ball well throughout his delivery. His fastball sat 85-87 mph, he also showed a slider with good downer action from the same arm slot.

Andre Hunter  SS - 2022 - Lithonia, GA
Georgia Highlands

Arm strength is the name of the game for Hunter who displayed 92 mph throws from both the infield and outfield. He then hopped on the mound and let the arm loose for mid-80s velocity and a deceptive changeup.

Ryan McTighe  RHP - 2022 - Dunwoody, GA

McTighe showed a solid two pitch mix in his outing. The physical 5-11/190 pound righthander ran his fastball up to 87 mph with good extension out front and some downward plane. He also showed feel for a tight spinning slider in the upper 70's tunneling it well out of the same arm slot as his fastball.

Braden Osbolt  RHP - 2022 - Molena, GA
Kennesaw State

Looking for a prototypical pitcher build you have one here. Osbolt, with a 6-3/190 pound frame has length that you can't teach with more room to fill out in the frame. He ran his fastball up to 85 mph with more velocity to come down the road with added strength. He also showed good pitch ability, mixing in a tight breaking ball with 10-4 shape, and a fading changeup with good arm speed in the upper 70's.

Andrew Sherman  OF - 2022 - Milton, GA

Sherman's right-handed swing projects really well as he separates correctly and extends through contact well. He barreled everything in BP and showed some projectable jump to each gap as he continues to fill out.


2023 Top Prospects

Colin Houck  SS - 2023 - Lilburn, GA
Mississippi State

Probably the most physical presence of the weekend was made by Colin Houck. The rising sophomore is a gifted 6-2/185 already and has a swing that is going to hit plenty of bombs in his future. Working from gap to gap, Houck has bat speed as well as strength to his path that projects so well moving forward.

Peyton Watts  SS - 2023 - Oxford, AL
Troy

Watts got his weekend started with a very impressive round of infield showing off his hands and 87 mph arm strength. He then took a nice round of batting practice with good balance and fast hands. There's a high ceiling for Watts as a left-handed hitting infielder.

Nathan Aguilar  SS - 2023 - Murfreesboro, TN

Confirmed by Diamond Kinetics, Aguilar showcased the fastest bat speed both in BP and in testing. Aguilar has an intriguing skillset with tools that play all around the diamond to go with his advanced bat speed.

Kaden Brown  1B - 2023 - Fayetteville, GA
Kennesaw State

Power-hitting Kaden Brown displayed some of the best juice at the plate during his batting practice round. His strength is obvious both frame his mature frame as well as his powerful swing.

Jackson Frank  SS - 2023 - Alpharetta, GA

6.7 speed, good footwork and a simple swing with a feel for the barrel is a nice recipe for a 2023 graduate to showcase. That is just what Frank did at the Southeast Prospect Showcase projecting really well at the plate as he continues to develop strength.

Kyle Henley  OF - 2023 - Cumming, GA
Georgia Tech

Henley has hand speed at the plate which is no surprise give the quick-twitch muscles in his lower half. Henley ran a 6.47 second 60 yard dash while featuring a pretty raw swing with hand speed that projects with the proper adjustments to his stroke in the box.

Dylan Holbrook  RHP - 2023 - Sandy Springs, GA
Georgia College & State/Spartanburg Methodist College

Holbrook ran a 6.77 second 60 and has a lofted swing plane at the plate. His infield round was impressive working low to the ground and showing feel for the leather. He also hopped on the mound for good measure with three pitches and a good gauge for the strike zone.

Trenton Lyons  C - 2023 - Memphis, TN
Mississippi

Lyons showed a really nice round of batting practice especially from the left side with loose hands, an easy swing and power potential. His quickness behind the dish is impressive with clean transfers to add to his intriguing profile as a switch hitting catcher.


2024 Top Prospects

Luca Perriello  C - 2024 - Evans, GA
Virginia Tech

Perriello has an intriguing all around skillset behind the plate, at the dish and on the mound. His actions at catcher are quick and he gets on top of the baseball well while he has a lively mid-80s fastball on the mound with legit switch-hitting ability at the plate.
