John Tyler Maynard is a 2021 C/RHP with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Oakwood, GA who attends West Hall. Medium and lean frame with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.32 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, worked out behind the with quick actions out of his crouch, good drive to second staying through the baseball, clean transfers into throws with solid footwork, good arm strength and quickness combination, 1.98 second best pop time in drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher, starts his delivery with a side step up to a high leg lift, coils on the back leg and works online to the plate, takes his arm back to a clean arm action up to a high ¾ arm slot, fastball topped out at 83 mph with life to either side of the plate, shows feel for a curveball that has sharpness and 11-5 shape to the pitch. Right-handed hitter, upright and open stance in the box, low hand set with a big leg lift trigger into contact, will get out front at times, showed some lift to the middle of the field. Good student.
