2029 Top Prospects
Alijah Antunez-Valdovinos
OF - 2029 - West Covina, CA
Performed well in game action and was a tough out all around. On the barrel and on base consistently. Worked good at-bats all around. Good athlete as well who ran a 7.32 sixty and was up to 74 from across the diamond. Sound approach in the box with good bat speed from a level swing. Can use the entire field well.
Brandon Brady
SS - 2029 - Westlake Village, CA
Impressed throughout his outing off the mound working up to 79 with good ASR and sink to it. Went to a curve with healthy 11-5 shape/depth. Could drop it in and locate it. Also showed a change with depth and drop to it and was a solid 3rd pitch. Pitch ability stood out and so did overall projection. More velo in the tank to come.
Brooks Buoncristiani
C - 2029 - Upland, CA
Impressed on both sides of the ball throughout the weekend. Worked up to 76 off the mound with a quality 3-pitch mix. Showed a curve and change with good feel for both. All 3 for strikes. Good range lateral range on the infield from a quick transfer and release with shorter arm action. Also recorded a 2.19 pop time and was up to 72 from behind the dish. Good round of BP where both hit and power project from a level swing path. Was all over the barrel in game action.
Gavin Carcelen
SS - 2029 - Upland, CA
Showed really good actions from both the outfield and infield and should continue to get better. Showed good range from the outfield getting to the ball with foot quickness and showed lateral range from the infield. Was up to 78 from the outfield and 76 from the infield. Also produced an exit velo of 81. Was also up to 77 off the mound and had a good outing. Good athlete who projects well as a line drive hitter with the hit tool projecting the best.
Tyler Fritz
1B - 2029 - Orange, CA
Big showing on both sides of the ball. Performed in game and in workouts. Was up to 78 from across the diamond and ran a 7.48 sixty. Showed excellent footwork around first base and good overall feel for the position. Big target who gets it done there. The bat really stood out with both the hit and power tool projecting well. Produced a high exit velo of 89 and carried that over into game action living on the barrel consistently. Impact was evident and bat to ball stood out.
Aaron Hernandez
RHP - 2029 - Chino Hills, CA
Strong showing on both sides of the ball. Was up to 80 from the outfield and showed good actions out there. Had a good round of BP and hit in game as well. Produced an exit velo of 80. Also worked up to 78 off the mound and located well. Mixed in a curve as well. Good well-rounded player who should continue to get better.
Landon Hodges
LHP - 2029 - Vista, CA
Worked up to 80 off the bump mixing in a curve and change as well. Curve showed good young spin traits getting up to 2300 RPM. Projects well off the mound with more velo in the tank to come.
Lucas Keldorf
C - 2029 - El Segundo, CA
Showed well with the bat producing an exit velo of 85. Strong kid who swings with intent and could impact it when on it. Power projects here. Was also up to 71 from behind the dish and recorded a 2.29 pop time.
Max Kelley
3B - 2029 - Orange, CA
Athletic player who showed well on both sides of the ball. Took a solid infield and showed fluid actions from a clean slot. Good lateral range with a quick transfer and release. Fluid actions that play well into the game. Was up to 77 from infield workouts. Took a really good round of BP working the entire field well which carried over into game action. Did not get out all weekend going 5-5 with 3 doubles. Bat speed and strength at impact clearly there.
Braydon Lee
SS - 2029 - Chino, CA
Was solid on both sides of the ball. Took a good infield showing good footwork and lateral range in general from an athletic frame. Showed good hands and glovework and got it out with pace from a quick transfer and release. Good actions all around. Also showed good bat speed in the box as a sound line drive hitter. Nice swing path that works to the pull-side especially well. Had an exit velo of 80.
Julian Morones
OF - 2029 - San Diego, CA
Very athletic profile who showed well on both sides of the ball. Ran a 7.05 sixty and was up to 76 from the outfield. Accurate throws with good arm strength and projects for more. Could really hit as well with loud impact. Produced an exit velo of 86 and can really turn on the ball. Impact was evident. Good bat speed.
Owen Schneller
RHP - 2029 - Lakewood, WA
Had a good showing throughout the weekend on both sides of the ball. Off the mound, he was up to 79 with good biting ASR to it and could locate. Showed really good feel to spin it with a curve that showed good 11-5 shape. Was also 77 across the diamond from infield workouts. Had an exit velo of 80 and hit a triple in game action. Ability to impact it stood out.
2030 Top Prospects
Maxton Baracy
OF - 2030 - Santa Monica, CA
Athletic 6-foot-3, 175-pound frame who impressed on both sides of the ball. Up to 81 from the outfield and 79 from across the diamond. Showed good projectable actions from the outfield working through the ball well. Showed good range out in center during game action, covering ground and making good reads in general. Smooth lefty swing with present bat speed and good ability to really impact the baseball. Produced an EV of 84.
Julius Berrios
RHP - 2030 - Chula Vista, CA
Was up to 76 from infield workouts and showed fluid actions. Moves well with lateral range from a clean slot with soft hands. Looked the part out there. Worked good at-bats and had a nice round of BP from a level swing with good young bat speed. Good line drive hitter who can use the entire field with some impact off the barrel.
Nixon Sharp
3B - 2030 - Langley, BC CAN
Was up to 75 from infield workouts and performed well in game action as well. Made all plays at third base making throws on a line with accuracy. Has a nice lefty swing that works both gaps. Performed well in game and had a good round of BP.
Camden Clabough
C - 2030 - Hemet, CA
Was solid behind the dish and had a pop time of 2.11 and was up to 71 from there. Showed really good actions behind the dish and projects to get much better there. Also hit a ton in game showing good bat to ball and overall feel for the barrel. Performer who will get better.
John Dunbar
SS - 2030 - View Park, CA
Was up to 74 from infield workouts and showed good actions in general. Clean funnel working through and around the ball well. Showed some fluidity out there with good overall feel. Took a good round of BP with ability to impact it especially to the pull-side. Could leverage and launch a bit with carry. Also hit in game going 3-5 on the weekend.
