Kolby Gartner (2020 RHP, Albertville, MN) had a strong day on the mound, tossing three scoreless innings and recording five strikeouts. Gartner threw a heavy fastball at 80-84, and was able to keep hitters off balance by mixing three pitches for strikes. The mound presence was great, and Gartner worked at a good pace and tempo throughout the outing.
Trevor Kiser (2021 SS, Rose Hill, KS) flashed some good wheels and a high motor with a pair of infield singles today. Kiser, who also had a tough at-bat resulting in a walk, showed good plate discipline and the ability to work deep into counts.
Brady Small (2022 3B, Lemont, IL) was impressive on the mound. The young righty sat 80-85 with a good fastball to both sides of the plate. Small also showed advanced feel for a mid-70s curveball and changeup, mixing speeds well on his way to five strikeouts in just two innings.
Collin Dehne (2021 RHP, Adell, WI) was another righty to shine on the mound Saturday. Dehne struck out four batters in three innings of work and also ran a fastball up to 82. The rising junior showed good feel for a changeup that he was able to throw in any count.
Braeden Lock (2022 RHP, Highlands Ranch, CO) had a pair of singles in today's action. Lock has a middle approach at the plate, lining a ball to center field and finding a hole in the same spot.
Desmond Watkins (2020 OF, Bloomfield, NJ) did a little bit of everything today. Watkins had a loud double to deep left field, and was also flying around the basepaths with two stolen bases. Watkins was strong in the outfield as well using his speed to make some tough plays look easy.
Luke Roman (2020 SS, Carol Stream, IL) hammered a triple off the wall in left field today. Roman has a lot of fluidity to his swing, and the ball jumped off the barrel.
Corey Graham (2018 OF, Hazel Crest, IL) had a strong day all around on Saturday. The outfielder had three hits, one of them being a loud double to the opposite field gap in right. Graham stole four bases on the day, and his speed was also very present in the outfield where he made a pair of stellar running plays.
