Batting Practice Highlights

2/18/2024

Orlando Young (2025 RHP, Federal Way, WA) Stayed on the barrel throughout the round with an all-fields approach.  Strong at the point or contact with gap to gap juice.  

Ashton Bergman (2026 OF, Mill Creek, WA) Showcased quick hands and barrel control throughout.  All-fields approach with gap to gap power. Turned a solid round of BP to the game.

Khail Cooper (2027 OF, West Richland, WA) Plus bat speed.  Stayed on the barrel.  Strong at the point of contact.  Power potential upcoming.  

Owen Montgomery (2024 OF, Portland, OR) Showcased plus bat speed with a double toe tap trigger.  Showed intent staying on the barrel throughout the round.  Power potential upcoming.   

Landon Wall (2025 1B, Enumclaw, WA) Showcased strong hands and lower half.  Ball was jumping off the barrel throughout the round.  Power potential. 

Colton Weis (2026 RHP, Gig Harbor, WA) Set up with high hands.  Hands are strong.  Takes a big leg kick into the swing that has plus bat speed.  Gets into his legs with ease.  Ton of barrels with power potential.  

Joe Duke (2025 SS, Tacoma, WA) Stayed on the barrel to all-fields throughout the round.  Showed a ton of plate coverage and barrel control.  Solid round of BP translated into some solid in-game at bats

Sabin Tomlinson (2024 OF, Seattle, WA) Strength is present in the hands and the swing.  Really smooth swinging lefty.  Stayed on the barrel with intent.  Translated into some really good in-game at bats

Larson Kohlmann (2026 C, Sammamish, WA) Smooth swing.  Excellent barrel control.  Ability to use the whole field with power upcoming.

Jake Lenberger (2025 RHP, Mead, WA) A presence in the box with a quick bat and length in the swing.  Showed really good extension to the ball.  Gap to gap juice present.  Excellent plate coverage.  Translated into good in-game at bats.  

Max Heinze (2025 OF, Tacoma, WA) Stayed on the screws throughout the round.  Did a nice job generating from the lower half.  Up the middle approach with juice.  

Dex Pudduck (2025 OF, Seattle, WA) Put together a standout round of BP.  Showcased the ability to hit the ball to all-fields with authority.  Stays really compact and takes a direct path and stayed on the screws throughout.  

Julian Pyo (2025 3B, Seattle, WA) Put together a loud round of BP on Sunday. Stayed on the screws with an all fields approach.  Strong at the point of contact.  Easy juice in the swing. 

 

1-Gold vs 2-Maroon Game Highlights

2/18/2024

Orlando Young (2025 RHP, Federal Way, WA) Got the start on the mound for the Gold team.  Fastball sat 86-87 while topping out at 89.  Curveball showed 11-5 shape and sat 75-77.  Dominate performance with his 25 pitches without allowing a hit and struck out 3.  

Dylan Johnson (2025 RHP, Seattle, WA)  Came in to throw second for the Gold team.  Gave up two hits without striking out a batter.  Worked effectively in the zone keeping hitters off balance.  

Zack Hankins (2026 LHP, Otis, OR) Barreled a screaming shot back up the middle for the Maroon team for there first hit of the young day.  The LHP later entered the game on the mound.  Kept hitters off balance with a mix of pitches.  

Max Heinze (2025 OF, Tacoma, WA) Caught an absolute barrel to the pull side that stayed on a rope.  Full extension with a direct path.  Really solid barrel control.  

Dex Pudduck (2025 OF, Seattle, WA) Smoked a no doubt would be double for the Maroon team if this was a real game.  Crushed it to the pull side.  

Taplin Everette (2026 LHP, Salt Lake City, UT) Came in out of the pen for the Gold team.  Sat 73-74 with a curveball that he landed effectively sitting 61-62.  Struck out four of the five hitters he faced.  

Colton Weis (2026 RHP, Gig Harbor, WA) Took the mound for the Gold team.  Sat 74-75 with a 68 mph 11-5 breaking ball.   Struck out a couple of the five hitters he faced. 

Jake Lenberger (2025 RHP, Mead, WA) Took the mound for the Maroon team.  Sat 80-81 with a fastball. Really impressed with the slider.   Struck out a couple along the way.   

Colton Ashford (2027 2B, Seattle, WA) Stayed back on a fastball and drove  one backside.  Showed good intent and barrel control.  Ball was a frozen rope.   

Kai Carvo (2027 RHP, Richland, WA) Threw 15 pitches and impressed.  Showed poise while running his fastball up to 82.  Really mature approach for the young man.
