Sunday Game Highlights

11/5/2023

Hudson Arnold (2028 SS, Argyle, TX) opened up the scoring when he jump started the Black teams offense with a triple down the left field line. He was able to get the bat head out and keep the fastball fair just inside the bag driving it all the way to the corner. He late came around to score the game's first run.

Clark White (2029 OF, Frisco, TX) added to the Black teams offense in the third inning when he laced a, letter high fastball into left field for an RBI double. He did a nice job of controlling the barrel with the top hand through the top of the zone get get on top of the baseball and create hard linear contact. He followed that up with another pull side single in his next at bat.

Ryan Garcia (2027 SS, Baytown, TX) was stellar on the mound running his fastball up to 81 mph and doing a nice job of attacking hitters with it early in the count. He showed some feel for a quality breaking ball as his primary off speed that he landed comfortably later in counts and was able to record strikeouts with.

Matthew Heredia (2028 SS, Colleyville, TX) poked a double the other way keeping a mid 70’s fastball fair down the right field line for extra bases. He was able to keep the hands inside the baseball, letting it travel as he found the barrel going opposite field for a lead off double. He also came in an slammed the door on the mound with a fastball topping out at 80 mph.

Brody Roberts (2028 1B, Jacksboro, Texas, TX) picked up an extra base hit in his second at bat of the day driving a ball deep to the middle of the field. He was able to create some lift with the natural loft in his bat path driving the ball over the center fielders head as he cruised into second with a double.

Cade Currey (2027 OF, Spring, TX) put one of the more impressive swings of the day on the ball with his long triple deep down the left field line. He was able to match the plane of the pitch well with his barrel getting to a point of extension to create back spin and carry on the ball flight.

Black V. Columbia Blue Game Recap

11/4/2023

Drake Olson (2028 RHP, Houston, TX) showed out both sides. Ran it up to 75 with a good breaker, seven Ks over three innings. Good projection to the frame, picked up a hard base hit back up the middle too.

Hudson Arnold (2028 SS, Argyle, TX) pumped up to 77 and lived there with good sinking action to it. Has a long, lean and wiry frame at 6-foot-4, 200 pounds. The long term projection is good with this one.

Ryan Garcia (2027 SS, Baytown, TX) standout performer, twitchy athlete and with quick set of hands. Good arm strength can play a bit all over too. Picked up a hard base hit, standout in drills and showed in game.

Ryder Sepulvado (2029 SS, Lufkin, TX) drove one to the left-center gap for a double. Got extended and put a real good swing on one. Reached extra gear on the basepaths, as well.

Brody Roberts (2028 1B, Jacksboro, Texas, TX) good strength for age and stung one to the gap for extra bags. Good set of hands quick through the zone with a physical presence in the box. Also showed well on the hill and forced soft contact.
