Payton Waters (2022 3B, Live Oak, FL) is a young, projectable third baseman from Live Oak, Florida who put together a nice round of batting practice with intriguing offensive components to his swing. Stays short to the ball, Waters was able to generate leverage to his path and projects with additional lower half incorporated while utilizes a loose and easy swing and living in the middle of the field.
Luke Heyman (2022 C, Longwood, FL) took a loud round of batting practice during his time in the box and quickly transferred that righthanded stroke into live action. With his long and athletic 6-foot-3 frame Heyman did a nice job of staying direct to the ball while generating extension out front with hard, barreled contact to his pull side with nice jump off the barrel.
Listed as a primary lefthanded pitcher on his Perfect Game profile, Landon Moran (2022 LHP, Altamonte Springs, FL) certainly offers nice two-way potential at the next level with his lefthanded stick. Staying balanced throughout his swing, Moran did a nice job of repeating his mechanics which lead to plenty of barreled up, line drive contact with back spin to the middle and pull side parts of the field.
Elijah Green (2022 OF, Windermere, FL) is strongly built at 6-foot, 165-pounds and showed off intriguing tools in the box that will only continue to get better as he grows. His bat speed from the right side of the plate certainly stands out, as do his explosive hands which helped power balls to the opposite field gap with loud jump off the barrel.
Strong and physically built at 6-foot, 190-pounds, Jesus Pena (2022 SS, Miami, FL) sports one of the stronger frame in attendance and with it also shows some of the bigger raw power already in the event. When he was on time with his front foot he showed the ability to drive the ball with lift to his path and loud back spun contact to his pull side, staying rather short to the ball.
A young lefthanded bat from West Orange High School, Tracy Mitchem (2021 OF, Windermere, FL) showed and easy, repeatable stroke from the lefthanded batter’s box that lead to some hard and loud contact into right field. He shows looseness to his hands and stays simple to the ball, creating nice jump off the barrel with natural leverage to his path.
Roman Anthony (2022 OF, Wellington, FL) is a long and projectable 6-foot-2, 164-pound outfielder who does a nice job of staying direct to the ball with loose hands and leverage to his path. He showed the ability to work all parts of the field and when on time with his weight shift was able to drive the ball off the barrel, which he showed a present feel for.
Lucas Torres (2021 OF, Cayey, PR) took a nice round of batting practice before continuing to impress all over the diamond during the opening day of the event. His swing is an easy one with looseness to his hands and though there are some timing components to his swing, Torres showed a handle for the barrel and comfort working the pull side part of the field.
James Triantos (2022 RHP, McLean, VA), like Torres above, impressed all over the diamond, and that includes offensively at the plate despite being listed as a primary righthanded pitcher. He swings with plenty of intent and looks to power the baseball with a short, linear swing which helped him work the middle and pull side parts of the field with nice life off the barrel.
Rene Lastres (2021 C, Hialeah Gardens, FL) is a strongly built backstop at 6-foot-1, 180-pounds and he showed the ability to unlock that strength in the righthanded batter’s box. Utilizing a leg lift trigger for timing, Lastres showed his best strength to the pull side with hard jump off the barrel and nice back spun contact when squared up.
One of the younger players in attendance, Manuel Beltre (2022 SS, Dominican Republic) showed one of the more fluid and powerful strokes during his round once he got settled in. He does a nice job of getting extended out front and the ball jumps off his barrel to all parts of the field with solid present bat speed and loose hands.
Dean Guzman (2022 C, Pembroke Pines, FL), a young backstop from Florida, showed a nice and balanced righthanded swing and offers a projectable frame too. He shows a present handle for the barrel and did a nice job of squaring up balls out front with line drive contact coming off.
Grabiel De Jesus Arias Morel (2022 SS, Santo Domingo Este, Dominican Republic) is one of the stronger players in attendance and he knows how to incorporate that strength into his righthanded swing. Staying short the ball, he does a nice job of creating natural leverage to his path with intriguing juice off the barrel to his pull side.
A young outfielder from Venezuela, Jackson Brayan Chourio (2022 OF, Maracaibo, Venezuela) showed nice tools at the plate and projects as he continues to develop physically. Staying linear through the zone with a full swing path, Brayan Chourio shows a present feel for the barrel and did a nice job of hitting the ball out front with nice life coming off when squared.
Strongly built at 6-foot-4, 210-pounds, first baseman Evan Ames (2021 1B, Fort Myers, FL) swung a loud bat from the left side and did so while staying simple with his mechanics. He did a nice job of getting his hands extended out front while showing quickness to the ball, all of which resulted in loud consistent loud contact as he did well in repeating his swing.
