7-White Game Highlights

8/5/2023

Rylan Sutton (2027 LHP, Ozark, MO) impressed on the mound today, tallying four strikeouts in his two innings on the mound.  He has full confidence in his three pitch arsenal and has the ability to throw them in any count.  His fastball has natural cutting action that keeps it away from hitter's barrels.  His curve is firm with nice two plane break.  His changeup gives a different look as it drops straight off the table before getting to the plate.

Brady Rallo (2028 1B, Chesterfield, MO) had an impressive day at the plate and on the mound.  Offensively, he was able to get extended and square a ball up, sending it deep over the center fielder's head for an RBI double.  He has a smooth swing at the plate and is able to consistently make hard contact.  On the mound, he goes after hitters and keeps the ball down in the zone.  He worked a quick 1-2-3 inning, only needing 5 pitches to finish them off.

Connor Williams (2027 RHP, Ankeny, IA) has strong two-way potential, working his fastball up to 79 mph on the mound and punching out 3 hitters in his two innings.  He has a loose, whippy arm and hides the ball well, making him that much more effective on the mound.  At the plate he works out in front of the plate well and was able to log a pair of singles during the game, one back up the middle and one the other way.

Zachary Steichen (2027 OF, Brookfield, WI) wore out opposing pitchers today, recording three solid base hits during the game.  He pairs his gap-to-gap approach with quick hands and a heavy barrel that lead to an 80 exit velocity off a tee as well.  He also got on the mound for an inning, working the fastball to both sides of the plate while throwing 79 mph.  He also has a 1-7 curveball with good velocity differential to keep hitters off balance.

Bennett Musolf (2027 OF, Victoria, MN) made the most of his at bats today, knocking in a pair of RBIs.  He did a nice job of staying on an outer half fastball before drilling it to the opposite field gap for a triple.  He has nice balance at the plate and works through the ball well with is lower half and pairs this this nice barrel control.

Carter Cajthaml (2027 C, Charles City, IA) hit the ball hard at the plate today, sending a ball down the left field line for a double and also turning on an inside pitch later for a hard base hit to left.  He clears his hips will and is able to get on plane with the pitch and let the barrel go to work.

Matthew Saliers (2027 3B, Chicago, IL) recorded all of the outs in his inning of work himself today, recording three punch outs by working ahead with his fastball and putting them away with his curve.  His fastball gives opposing hitters fits due to the cutting action that it features.  He is able to create a lot of velocity differential with his breaking ball and keeps hitters off balance by landing it for strikes.

6-Royal Game Highlights

8/5/2023

Elijah Scott (2027 C, Marion, IA) was all over the ball today, roping multiple line drives that resulted in a pair of hits.  He showed nice discipline at the plate, staying back on a curveball and letting it get deep into the hitting zone before sending it to left for a base hit.  He has a smooth, repeatable swing and is consistently on time.

Tristen Walker (2027 C, Kansas City, MO) showed good balance at the plate and the ability to stay through the baseball.  He has nice bat speed for his age and is able to cover the whole plate.  He tallied a pair of base hits in his chances as the dish.

Jazarris Mackmore, Jr (2027 1B, Crete, IL) is a strong athlete that allows that strength to come through at the plate.  He has the ability to get extended and hit the ball out in front of the plate, which is exactly what he did on the double that he crushed into the pull side gap.  He also hopped up on the mound and worked a flawless inning, recording two strikeouts in the process.

Jayson Schrick (2027 RHP, Lenexa, KS) features a power fastball on the mound, working the pitch up to 82 mph and throwing it by hitters.  He has a tall frame with plenty of twitch and is explosive at release.  He worked the ball to all four quadrants and generated swings and misses up in the zone.  He also has a sharp breaking, 12-6 curveball that he locates down in the zone well.

Hagen Moss (2027 3B, Saint Joseph, MO) has a sturdy frame and showed the ability to get the barrel through the zone with force and impact the ball out in front of the plate.  He logged three base hits on sharply hit balls today.  He does a nice job of staying back and using the entire field.

Jose Mendoza Jr. (2027 OF, Zion, IL) swung one of the hottest bats of the event, going 3-6 on the day, making hard contact every time up it seemed.  He stays on balance at the plate and takes what the pitcher gives him, hitting the ball sharply to all parts of the field.

Nicholas Long (2027 OF, Springfield, MO) saw the ball well today, racking up three base knocks in his chances at the plate.  He swings a heavy barrel and is direct to the baseball with his path.  He creates backspin on his line drives and looks to do damage each time he is up.

Kyler Kirkpatrick (2027 LHP, Omaha, NE) showed solid two way ability today, working two strong innings on the mound and making hard contact at the plate.  On the mound, he hides the ball well thanks to his crossfire delivery.  The angle he throws at makes it extremely tough on opposing hitters, especially left handed bats.  He swings with intent at the plate and is able to drive the ball hard to the pull side.

Tyler Lyle (2027 LHP, Prior Lake, MN) impressed on the mound for two strong innings.  He has complete control over his fastball-curveball mix and is not afraid to go right after hitters.  He does a nice job of working both sides of the plate and mixing in his curveball early in counts to keep hitters off balance.  His ability to pitch allowed him to punch out an impressive 5 batters.

Parker Hayes (2026 LHP, Norman, OK) has an extra tall frame with long limbs that he utilizes to get down the mound well.  His strong push with the lower half makes his 81 mph fastball even tougher to hit than it already was.  He has a loose shoulder and a whippy arm.  He pairs his fastball with an advanced 1-7 curveball with tons of downer action.  He was able to rack up 4 strikeouts across his two innings.

Jackson Redd (2027 C, Springfield, MO) was strong at the plate as well as behind it, scorching two balls back up the middle and having control of the game on the defensive side.  He creates nice separation with his upper half at the plate and does a nice job of being on time and staying through the baseball, driving it where it's pitched.

Drew Harder (2027 2B, Nevada, MO) showed nice two-way potential today, racking up an RBI base hit to left and working a solid inning on the mound.  He stays short to the ball at the plate and looks to hit the ball in the gaps.  On the mound he pounds the zone with a fastball-curveball mix.

Grant Hummel (2027 RHP, Washington, MO) has a line drive approach at the plate and does a nice job of staying short to the ball.  His patience at the plate allows him to let the ball travel deep into the hitting zone before launching balls to the opposite field gap.

Kyler Kirkpatrick (2027 LHP, Omaha, NE) has a simple approach from the left side of the plate and showed the ability to barrel up pitches to all parts of the field.  He looks to elevate the ball and sent several balls deep into right field.
