Game Two Highlights

3/4/2018

Duncan Davitt (2018 RHP, Indianola, IA) Throws a heavy fastball from a 3/4 arm slot that topped at 90. Occasional run to the fastball. Showed a good changeup with some sinking running action. Good bit to curveball in mid to low 70's.

Kyle Wisch (2019 RHP, Clarendon Hills, IL) Threw primarily from the stretch. Tossed two good innings. Fastball got up to 91 weith some plan to it. Curveball was the better of his secondary pitches. Sharp downward movement. Also tossed a changeup and a short slider.

Nic McCay (2018 RHP, Carlisle, IA) Uses a strong and quick arm action to get the fastball up to 90. Has a good secondary pitch in the curveball with sharp late action that left hitters guessing. 11:5 shape in the low 70's. Also continued to square the ball collecting several long doubles in the game.

Nick Gottilla (2019 LHP, Rock Island, IL) Left that got good run to his fastball topped at 86. Tight spinning curveball with a 1:7 break. Uses an up tempo to get on top of hitters quickly.

David Dillman (2019 C, Glen Ellyn, IL) Showed some big pop in the bat. Drove a fastball to straight away center field that would have cleared some fences.

Levi Usher (2018 OF, Fairfax, IA) Squared balls up all day. Has a direct path to contact and really looks to elevate the ball and drive it with solid strength.

Andrue Henry (2020 1B, Dubuque, IA) Worked a quick and efficient inning. Got the fastball up to 81. Showed a tight slider at 71 and a changeup with some sinking actions.

Game One Highlights

Rian Yates (2019 RHP, Oskaloosa, IA) Started out the day on the mound. Fastball had some downhill plane at 84. Showed the ability to cut it and run it depending on the hitter. Good changeup that got better every time with some arm side sink. Also had a sweeping curveball at 72.

Clay Billadeau (2020 C, Naperville, IL) Collected a hard hit single right back up the middle. Has a quiet approach and likes to stay in the middle of the field.

Tate Kuehner (2019 LHP, Marshalltown, IA) Deceptive lefty on the mound. Has several versions of the fastball that he runs and cuts at different times that topped at 82. Has a good secondary pitch in the changeup. Has arm side sink and commands it well, getting several swing and miss.

Rohan B Shah (2020 RHP, Burr Ridge, IL) Has a good fastball with some running, sinking action that got up to 84. Secondary is a curveball with an 11:5 shape to it in the low 70's. Got some swing and miss with the fastball when it was located well.

David Dillman (2019 C, Glen Ellyn, IL) Had several hits in the game. Works the middle of the field with a line drive bat path.

Austin Krob (2018 LHP, Lisbon, IA) Pitched a couple good innings. Fastball got up to 86 with consistent run to it. Showed a cutter at 79 with good command to the glove side. Also used a 1:7 curveball and a changeup with sinking actions.

Nic McCay (2018 RHP, Carlisle, IA) Turned on a fastball and drove it into the right field corner for a double. Gets some natural leverage with a line drive approach.

Deven Jones (2019 RHP, Chicago, IL) Settled in nicely in second inning of work. Gets some downhill plane on the fastball from a high 3/4 slot that topped at 85. Sharp 11:5 curveball with late break.

Batting Practice Highlights (Sunday)

Sam Holtz (2021 C, Hawthorn Woods, IL) The 2021 grad utilized a high contact approach with good barrel control that consistently produced line drive contact throughout batting practice.

Isaac Ferrer (2020 C, Coral Springs, FL) The Florida native showed a clean path to contact with good balance throughout his swing. Ferrer looked to lift the baseball to the gaps and generated tight back spin. 

Rohan B Shah (2020 RHP, Burr Ridge, IL) Listed as a primary pitcher, but impressed at the plate as well. Shah generated very good bat speed through the zone that produced loud, hard contact between the gaps. 

Joey Spence (2021 C, West Bend, WI) The left handed hitting catcher showed a smooth, fluid swing path paired with a line drive approach. Spence flashed the barrel skills to work the other way as well with pitches located to the outer half.

Clay Billadeau (2020 C, Naperville, IL) The Naperville native swung with the intent to drive the baseball with authority. When squared, Billadeau generated sharp contact off the barrel that showed projectable raw power to the gaps.

Nic McCay (2018 RHP, Carlisle, IA) The South Dakota State commit employed a smooth, fluid stroke in batting practice. McCay possesses the present bat speed to turn the barrel and drive the baseball to the gaps with authority. 

Jakob Kouneski (2019 C, Minneapolis, MN) The uncommitted prospect displayed good raw power at the plate with the strength to drive the baseball through the gaps with ease. 

Elias Davila (2019 C, Oshkosh, WI) Davila showed a balanced swing with a high contact, mid field approach. The 2019 grad utilized an inside path to contact that produced line drive contact to each gap. 

Nick Gottilla (2019 LHP, Rock Island, IL) Consistently barreled the baseball throughout batting practice showing the ability to throw the bat head out in front and generate bat speed. 

Levi Usher (2018 OF, Fairfax, IA) The former Perfect Game All-American displayed a very smooth, fluid stroke that produced easy bat speed through the zone. Usher has a high level combo of barrel control and bat speed that will continue to make him an elite level player at the next level. 

Joey Hurth (2020 RHP, Hopkins, MN) The Minnesota native employed a linear barrel plane that produced good jump off the barrel when squared. Hurth primary looked to drive the baseball to the middle of the field with intent. 

Andrue Henry (2020 1B, Dubuque, IA) Henry aggressively attacked the baseball throughout his round showing high level raw power for his age. The 2020 grad produces very loud contact off the barrel and should continue to develop his raw power with maturity.

Gold vs Gray Game Highlights

Caleb Fuller (2018 RHP, Fairfax, IA) Started the game with two good innings. Fastball showed some occasion run, especially when facing left handed batters. A good tight slider with late lateral movements got some swing and misses at 71.

Samuel Boyce (2019 RHP, Grafton, WI) Showed some solid hitting ability in the game. Consistently squared up the ball. Has a slightly elevated swing path and really looks to lift the ball and drive to the gaps. Also threw two solid innings on the mound. Fastball got up to 80 and worked it to both sides of the plate.

Sam Lisiak (2021 C, Grand Rapids, MI) Made constant hard, solid contact. Has a line drive path and really drives the ball it's squared up. Collected hit after hit, driving the ball to the pull side and up the middle. Also grabbed a couple of base hits in the game.

Kamden Larson (2019 C, Chaska, MN) Solid behind the dish. Receives the ball with a softer glove. Works hard and smothers balls in the dirt.

Joshua DeLeon (2020 OF, Chicago, IL) Pounded the zone and got some swing and miss and generated weak contact. Fastball got up to 80. Flashed a curveball with depth that was kept low in the zone.

Sam McCune (2019 LHP, West Des Moines, IA) Tall and athletic lefty. Gets some good downhill plane on the fastball that topped at 82. Settled in with the curveball in the second inning. Curve was in low 60's and got some swing and miss.

Will Nigut (2018 RHP, Des Moines, IA) Strong and tall right handed pitcher. Good heavy fastball hitting 88 consistently. Also has a solid secondary pitch in the curveball. 11:5 shape in the low 70's. Swing and miss ability.

Batting Practice Highlights (Saturday)

Shane Halligan (2020 C, Fort Dodge, IA) The 2020 catcher displayed good strength throughout batting practice while driving the baseball with authority. Looks to aggressively throw the barrel head to contact. 

Will Mabrey (2019 LHP, Cookeville, TN) The primary pitcher out of Tennessee impressed while at the plate utilizing a smooth, balanced swing plane that generated consistent line drive contact to the middle of the field.

Jacob Duarte (2019 LHP, Port Orchard, WA) The Washington native employed a simple, direct path to contact paired with a high contact approach. Duarte timed up pitches well from the start and drove the baseball on a line to all fields. 

Michael Sclafani (2020 RHP, Oak Brook, IL) The 5-foot-10, 170-pound 2020 prospect took one of the best rounds of the day showing excellent balance in his swing with the barrel control to consistently work to all fields. 

Korbin Griffin (2021 LHP, Richland, MI) The 2021 grad utilized a clean, fluid swing plane that produced good lift at contact. Griffin continuously found the barrel throughout batting practice creating good jump to the gaps. 

Dylan Page (2021 C, Marion, IA) Page shows good strength at contact for a 2021 grad. Baseball jumps off the barrel with tight backspin to pull side when squared. Page's power will continue to develop with maturity. 

Tyler Oberbroeckling (2019 C, Marion, IA) The 6-foot-1, 170-pound catcher displayed a balanced approach at the plate with present bat speed. Oberbroeckling employed a mid field to pull side approach and showed solid barrel control. 

Caleb Fuller (2018 RHP, Fairfax, IA) The 2018 prospect repeated a clean, line drive barrel plane throughout batting practice that produced sharp contact to the middle of the  field. Fuller employs a balanced, mature approach at the plate. 

Kamden Larson (2019 C, Chaska, MN) Larson consistently peppered the middle of the field in batting practice utilizing a direct, line drive barrel plane. The 2019 Minnesota native showed good feel, and control of the barrel. 

Sam McCune (2019 LHP, West Des Moines, IA) The 6-foot-4, 225-pound prospect showed very good raw power at the plate. McCune looks to drive the baseball with authority generating very loud, hard contact when squared.

Will Mabrey (2019 LHP, Cookeville, TN) Pitched two solid innings to start the game. Gave up weak contact and got tons of swing and miss on both his fastball and changeup. Fastball topped at 85, showed good run to it. Change up was a solid secondary pitch. Threw it for strikes and had good sink.

Korbin Griffin (2021 LHP, Richland, MI) Collected several hits in the game. Looks to pull the ball. Makes good contact consistently. Has a line drive swing path with some natural lift to it. Also started the game well on the mound with two hitless innings. Fastball topped at 77 with some run to it. Flashed a 12:6 curveball at 62. Threw a good amount of strikes and missed barrels.

Gavin White (2019 RHP, Kokomo, IN) Uses an up-tempo delivery with a long quick arm action. Fastball topped at 80. Has a 11:5 curveball that he was able command well with good late break.

Braydon Yost (2020 RHP, Rosemount, MN) Tall righty with long limbs. Has a quick arm with a long, loose circle in back. Fastball up to 79. 11:5 curveball with command at 67.

Michael Sclafani (2020 RHP, Oak Brook, IL) Throws from an over the top slot helping get some downhill plane to the fastball that topped at 78. Worked arm side with the fastball against hitters. Has a good 12:6 curveball with some late drop to it at 69.
