2018 Pitcher/Catcher Showcase
Caleb Fuller is a 2018 RHP/SS/OF with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Fairfax, IA who attends Prairie HS. Tall lean build with room for additional size. Primary right handed pitcher. Simple side step delivery into a big leg kick with some bottom half coil. Releases from a high three quarters arm slot with a short but quick arm action. Ball is difficult to up at release. Works quickly and gets into a rhythm. Gets good drive down the mound, producing downhill plane to the fastball in the low 80's, topped at 83 miles per hour. Good secondary pitch in the slider. Good late, lateral life with sharp movement and a tight spin. Flashed a changeup as well with sinking run. Commands pitches and mixes well. Right handed hitter with an upright and even stance. Simple toe tap trigger with a high back elbow set at load. Linear shift to contact. Stays in the middle of the field with some gap-to-gap power. Utilizes a line drive bat path staying on plane with the ball. Solid feel for the barrel able to make consistent contact and repeats well. Good Student as well.
